How to import custom songs
This guide will introduce you to importing custom songs in Rocking Legend.

1- Create a new folder and put here all the files related to a single song: a .png for the cover, a .ogg for the audio, a .chart, or a .mid for the notes.

2- Open the Rocking Legend installation folder and navigate to "/RockingLegend/RockingLegend_Data/UserContents/ChartToImport" and move here the entire folder with the containing files

3- Start the game. You will find the new song with the others scrolling to the bottom of the list.

4- The game will automatically move and rename your files as needed.
If you want to delete the imported songs later on, you can use the 'X' button from the in-game menus, or if you prefer, you can manually delete the files generated inside the folders Maps, Songs, and ImportedCharts.

5- The maps will be automatically converted for the "hand play-style" too, and notes will be re-arranged a little to get a playable level with no more than a single note at the same time.

Additional notices:

1- Only songs in .ogg, .wav or .mp3 are actually supported. If you have formats such as .ogg or others, you must convert them to the .ogg (recommended) format.

3- After completing the import of the files in-game, the game will keep a copy of your files in the "ImportedCharts" folder for backup purposes. You can safely move or delete them if you would like to free some disk space.

"If you have formats such as .ogg or others, you must convert them to the .ogg (recommended) format."

I suspect that should be reworded.

If you use potalifs' method, it will completely remove the song.ini file from EVERY SINGLE SONG in your clone hero library.

Don't make the same mistake I did following his advice, just copy it over or don't bother at all.

For everyone having yet a library for clone hero or other similar game, you can create a symlink to the library and works flawless without moving or copy it.

Firts remove the ChartsToImport folder inside the game's folder.

After open command prompt as administrator and create the symlink to your library:

mklink /J link original_folder

For example this is the command for me:

mklink /J "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocking Legend\RockingLegend_Data\UserContents\ChartsToImport" "C:\Games\Clone Hero\songs"

It worked for me, after open the game it directly load songs, I try some of them, some works ok, other no.

Will there be steam workshop support eventually for this game?

would it be possible to share a folder with another game? I play phase shift and I am interested in trying this, but the process of changing all of my files is discouraging me.

Thanks for reporting! There could still be an issue interrupting the import process and the other ones are skipped, unfortunately. We'll release an update very soon with other fixes, the game will also try to eventually skip only problematic charts instead of interrupting the process entirely, keep an eye on the next update.
About the hammer-ons and pull-offs, it will definitely be fixed with the update we are about to release.

I've tried importing as well, the first time I launched the game only 1 out of 11 songs imported, after that 3 more, all the songs are exactly the same format, so that's kinda strange.
Also a lot of the hammer-ons and pull-offs weren't properly translated, meaning notes that should be a HO/PO originally, were regular notes in rocking hero.

Only some of the songs import, around half of the ones I added

If you import multiple charts at the same time you have to create separate folders with the files: album.png, guitar.ogg, notes.chart and song.ini inside.

Then take these folders and put them inside "ChartToImport"

And you have to make sure they're not .mid.
The .mid format will come with a next Update
