What is Golden Freddy?

This short guide will basically discuss who or what is Golden Freddy and how you can survive him. This is only for FNAF 1 and 2. SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHO WILLIAM AFTON IS

What is Golden Freddy?

To put it simply, Golden Freddy is a mysterious character in the FNAF games (I will only be discussing FNAF 1) that is usually associated with the phrase "IT'S ME". It is widely believed that a spirit of one of the five missing children that were supposedly murdered by William Afton resides within Golden Freddy's suit. Some people also think he is possessed by the victim of the Bite of '83, but that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY.

What Does Golden Freddy Look Like?

Golden Freddy appears as a, rather obviously, gold-coloured version of Freddy with no eyes (except two tiny pinpricks of white light), a blue-tinged hat and bow tie and a microphone. It appears to be sitting on the floor with its paws facing palms up and mouth hanging open.

In FNAF 2, it is basically a golden, sitting version of Withered Freddy. FNAF 1 Golden Freddy's head is tilted to the left, and Withered Golden Freddy's head is to the right, its head slightly less tilted. Thanks to < Blank > for pointing out an error I made concerning the head tilt.

How Does Golden Freddy Appear and What Can You do to Stop Him?

Golden Freddy appears in your office if you are looking at the poster in the West Hall Corner (Cam 2B), regardless of whether both doors are closed. While looking at this picture, the sound of a crying/laughing child can be heard. Golden Freddy will not appear if another animatronic is occupying the West Hall Corner, nor will it appear if you don't look at this location at all.

When you come out of the camera after viewing the Golden Freddy poster, the animatronic itself will appear in your office. Staring at it for a few seconds will cause it to kill you and crash your game, while going back into the camera will cause him to disappear. It is important to note that, even if Golden Freddy is in the office, another animatronic can attack you.

In FNAF 2, Golden Freddy will only appear on Night 6 and custom nights. It will either be in the office when you pull your camera down, or its head will appear in the hallway when you shine your light. If it is in the office, pull the camera up or put on the mask (BUT BE FAST). If you flash your light and its head is in the hallway, don't flash your light for a few seconds. Also, as a side-note, Golden Freddy cannot crash your game in FNAF 2.

they are not in the EXACT same position, but similar. Golden Freddy's head is tilted to the left, while Withered Golden Freddy's head is to the right, and his head is slightly less tilted.
