AI Difficulty Calculator (updated v.1.12)
By SSSC_Elmo
(updated for v1.12) This calculator will help normalise the AI difficulty across all tracks, by suggesting track by track difficulty based on your base difficulty. Simply complete the Spain difficulty guide, then enter your difficulty into the calculator.

Step One: Complete Base Difficulty Test
Complete this guide by Codemasters, and use this to set your base difficulty. Get this as accurate as possible, as the calculator will use it as the basis for all other tracks. You must complete this step.

Step Two: Enter Your Base Difficulty Into the Calculator
DISCLAIMER: This calculator uses community feedback to improve accuracy. If you use the calculator and leave helpful feedback via the survey, I can improve the recommendations it gives in the future.

Open the AI difficulty calculator sheet[docs.google.com], and enter your base difficulty.

This will give you the recommended difficulty for each track, and is based on the AI's speed compared to the top (legitimate) leaderboard times for each track.

If you feel less/more confident on certain tracks than you did on Spain when setting your base difficulty, you can take this into account when setting the difficulty.
Step Three: Leave Feedback
Please consider giving feedback on the tracks on my survey (2 minutes to complete).

Complete this survey[www.surveymonkey.com], which I use to factor back into the calculator and make the recommendations more and more accurate.

If you want to leave further feedback, then feel free to leave it here, on my post on the Codemaster's forum[forums.codemasters.com].
Changelog
Last updated for F1 2020 v1.12 (20/10/2020):

  • Used top 10% time trial leaderboard times instead of WR times for some tracks. Thanks to Gonira for the suggestion. This 'fixed' the suggestions for Singapore.
  • More accurately determined the base difficulty change from 100 - 101 (This should make everything more accurate, specifically Bahrain and Monaco)
  • Added weights based on survey feedback. Of note, the AI on Austria and Bahrain were identified as TOO SLOW, and the AI on Japan, Britain, and USA were identified as TOO FAST. The new calculator recommendations should reflect this feedback. I only changed these a small amount, so please leave further feedback so I can keep update and refine.
  • Survey feedback was inconclusive on Mexico and Singapore, where some users thought the AI was far too fast, some far too slow.
  • Cleaned up the formatting and deleted uneccessary stuff.

Yep, it might take a couple weeks to get the data for it though. Ideally the AI will just be better balanced across all tracks this year.

Hey everyone,
I've updated the calculator, thanks to everyone who has completed the survey. It should give more accurate results now. See the changelog for more info.
