Section One: Quick Q&A

Before you start reading, here are some frequently asked questions I get.

What is a noclip level?

In short, a noclip level is a modified version of a existing level where the spikes and walls don't kill you. Think of it as enabling noclip on a hack client, except you don't need to download anything to play it.

Do you actually use hacks to make noclip levels?

No. I do use creator hacks like object bypass and other things like that, but I don't "hack" the level.

How long does it take to make a noclip level?

Depends on the level, but usually a week if I don't lose motivation.

Can you make noclip [name]?

no.

If you have more questions, comment them down below and I might include them here.
Section Two: Types of Noclip Levels

Believe it or not, there are different types of noclip levels, one easy, one hard, and one VERY hard.

There are three kinds or levels: Layout, Decorated, and Ignore Damage. All of these are pretty self-explanatory, but I'll explain them in more detail.

Starting with the easiest, layout levels. These type of level changes existing layout levels and replace all the blocks and spikes with noclip versions. Most of the level use 1.0 blocks with some type of deco. Layout levels are recommenced for beginners starting out.

Examples: Noclip Beetle, Noclip The Golden, Noclip Sigma

Decorated levels are the best kind of noclip levels. (*Cough* totally not biased *Cough*) These levels are straight copies of other's levels with noclip versions of blocks and spikes. Deco levels take much more time and effort, since you need to mach the different blocks and spikes. Deco levels are recommended for more experienced creators, since there are a lot more blocks and groups to keep track of.

Examples: Noclip God Eater Dec, Noclip Ragnarok Deco, Noclip Ouroboros

Ignore Damage is basically a noclip level, but with original gameplay and decoration. (By that I mean that the creator creates its own gameplay and deco). This one doesn't really have one particular "style", but most of these levels are layouts. Think about the level "Noclipistic" by Elisione, a famous example of a Ignore Damage Level,

Examples: Noclipistic, Ignore Damage III, Noclip Extreme Demon

Section Three: External Programs

Before you start building, you'll need some external software for creating noclip levels.

You'll need some build hacks that will let you save custom object and build over 80,000 objects. I recommend downloading Mega Hack V6 ($3.99) or Mega Hack V5 (Free). You'll need these hacks for later.

(Optional) There's a program that allows the GD program [ntcore.com]to use more than 4GB of ram, which can boost performance and make really big levels more stable to work on. Only use this if you have more than 4GB of ram.

Section Four: Setup

Now that you've downloaded the programs, you'll need to save the blocks into your custom blocks tab, because you can't build without the custom blocks, can't you?

Here's a quick guide on saving noclip blocks to your toolbar:

1. Go onto GD
2. Search for a level
3. Search for "Noclip Mega Kit"
4. Click on the first level
5. Copy the level
6. Now open up Mega Hack V5 (or V6)
7. In Mega Hack, click on the "Creator" tab
8. Check off "Custom Object Bypass"
9. Back in GD, select "SWIPE" in the bottom right
10. While in the "EDIT" tab (Look in the bottom left), select a set of the blocks
11. In the "BUILD" tab, go to the custom object tab (The last one to the right) and hit the green +
12. Repeat for the rest of the objects

Pictures of step 7 and above:

Section Five: Building the level
Now that you now have the blocks, its time to start building! How exciting!

Now, I won't be telling you how to make all three noclip levels separately or else this guide will be super long, but the instructions I'll tell you can generally be applied to all of the different styles.

Righti-ho, let's get RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT into it! (Btw, this might be long, so feel free to skim along)

This will be easier to explain in video form, so I recommend watching the video instead of reading this, but whatever works for you.

[WIP]

Text instructions:
1. Make sure you have saved your blocks into your custom objects tab (See Section Four)
2. Pick a level you want to noclip
3. Copy the layout version of the level
4. Go into the editor
5. At the very beginning, place a alpha trigger and set ID target to 995 and set everything to 0
6. On a separate layer (Press the left and right arrow keys) go onto a layer with nothing on it
7. Use the blocks in your custom object tab and start placing the noclip blocks on top of the real blocks
8. Once you've done placing the blocks, go to the next layer and place all the spikes on top of the real ones
9. Once you've done placing the noclip objects, go to the real block / spikes layer and delete all the blocks and spikes

Now, this is where things get a bit complicated. Depending an what gamemode it is, you need to change the section so the player doesn't die. I'll have to go into more depth into each gamemode, so PAY ATTENTION! (Well, if you want too I guess... I'm not your teacher)

Now I lumped these two together because they can both can go up and down without having two ground boarders (Like how you can't go infinity go up and down in a wave without another portal).

Anyways, lets look at some examples!

In the first example, there's a robot portal against the ground. You'll need to place some invisible two ticks above the ground, so the player doesn't hit the ground when upside down. You can replace the H blocks with gravity portals if H blocks don't work.

In this example, there is a cube section in mid air instead of against the ground. As you can see, you'll need gravity portals both above and below the section (you can use gravity pads instead if you want to)

Also lumping these together because they act the same. Generally, both the ship and ufo are the easier gamemodes to work with, since they both have boarders to contain them and can't die by hitting their head on something.

In this example, you can see the blue lines at the top and bottom. This shows the boarders of the ufo and ship. And again, duplicates of the size and speed portals for the sync and gameplay.

You get it, they act the same way. Like the ship and ufo, they have boarders on top and below them. Keep in mind that the spider can die by hitting their head on something, so use gravity portals and h blocks.

I'm not gonna say much, since this is pretty simple, just make sure you copy the speed and size portals.

To be honest, I don't know why I put the wave gamemode separately since its just like the ship and ufo, but its here now...

Image is pretty self-explanatory.

If your level uses triggers or group layers, you need to copy the ID of the original block and paste them into the noclip blocks.

All of the ID's and blocks layers are copied to the noclip blocks. Make sure the Z order is the same too!

You can apply all of these examples into your own levels!

(Jeez I finally finished this)
Section Six: Publishing
Pretty simple section here, but I'm just putting this here just is case.

When publishing, you should title the level something like "Noclip [Level name]" or "[Level name] Noclip". It doesn't really matter which version you name it, just make sure you have the word "Noclip" in the title. I also recommend disabling level copy because people will try to plagiarize your level and pass it of as their own.

Section Seven: Quick PSA about copiers
I just wanted to take this time to talk about plagiarism and people copying noclip levels.

Even if you disable copying on your level, people can still use copy hacks to copy it. People like to copy each others level and pass it off as their own. If you ever see that someone copied someone else's level, DON'T start arguing with the owner. You can just comment that the level is copied from the original creator. By arguing, your just gonna give yourself a negative reputation.
Section Eight: A list of Noclip Creators / The end
CONGRATS!!! If you followed through the whole guide, then you made your first noclip level!
