Remove Cast Delay in Turn-Based Mode

Better Turn-Based Mode

Descrizione
Disclaimer: I created this mod for myself to make casters more interesting in Turn-Based mode. There are many subjective changes, so I’m open to any suggestions on how to improve it.

This mod is designed for Turn-Based Mode. You can play in RTwP mode, but casts there will be instant too.

* * *

Compatibility:
The mod is compatible with all languages and save files (v5.0.0 or higher) and can be disabled at any time. It should work with any other mod that doesn’t alter vanilla spells and abilities.

* * *

Changes:
- All spells of Wizards, Priests, Druids, Ciphers, and Chanters (including subclasses) now have a cast time of 0 and use a standard action instead of a cast action.
- Paladin’s Glorious/Enduring/Inspired Beacon and Ranger’s Heal/Hardy Companion abilities now also have a cast time of 0.
- Wizards/Priests/Druids: low-level spells were nerfed to balance instant casting, but these classes now have more spell slots. Spell slots at level 9 are now 5/5/4/4/3/3/2/2/1, instead of 2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/1.
- Special abilities from items, scrolls, and spells of some non-humanoid enemies are unaffected because they use special versions of spells, and I’m too lazy to search and rewrite them all.

Thanks! Update worked, everything back to where it was. Reward given for fast fix.

Mod is updated, everything should be fine now. If you are not sure if the mod is updated, it must have a v1.2.1 in mod manager. Sorry for this again. :steamfacepalm:

Baconsaber, sorry about that, I didn't notice a bug, I will fix it in a few minutes.

I was playing through all of these for Avowed and had this installed and worked fine for the last week. As of today, it doesn't. Uninstalled/reinstalled, restarted, etc. All spells have a delay again. Some spells won't even cast.

Hey, I returned to the game and decided to update the mod. It no longer affects RTwP mode, and I toned down or removed many subjective balance changes (and added a few more hah). It should now be closer to vanilla.

I was a bit disappointed when I realized the casting took so long, making it too unpredictable/random for my taste. Glad I found this mod. It's a lot more fun like that. Much obliged! :steamthumbsup:

Thanks for the explanation, Selroy. Will look it all up.

@Nikanuur, the mod is pretty much finished. I didn't want to rebalance timing and went for no cast at all instead, because this is how casters do things in tabletop dnd and cRPGs close to tabletop rules (Pathfinders, Solasta, Baldur's Gate 3). I balanced it by weakening low level spells and giving them more spell slots (same damage, but less burst). Though now that I think about it, it wasn't the best idea, I should've just added aftercast time (it would give lower initiative next turn).

Obsidian made a great tutorial about how modding for PoE2 works, make sure you read it (I dropped a link a few comments lower). Though if you have any questions feel free to pm me.
