Introduction
Detroit: Become Human is a highly narrative-driven game, so it's highly recommended to play it blindly the first time around, picking your own decisions and getting your own ending first. It goes without saying that there will be heavy spoilers through and through, you have been warned.

If you don't plan to follow the guide to the letter or you want to tackle specific achievements, you can check the Appendix section where you will find the complete list of achievements, along with the circumstances needed to achieve them. There's also a guide for the complete flowcharts for each chapter if you want more freedom.

This guide covers two playthroughs. A "good" playthrough where we aim for the perfect ending and where everyone survives, and a "bad" playthrough where everything goes wrong. Some collectibles are dependable on specific decisions and there are also mutually exclusive achievements. There's also an additional cleanup section where we tackle achievements that do not fit in any of the playthroughs (using the CHAPTER SELECT option).

It's highly recommended to play in CASUAL difficulty, as we want to avoid unnecessary deaths.

The collectibles in this game are in the form of magazines. Each magazine contains two covers, make sure to see both of them just in case. You should see a saving icon each time you pick one up, but you can also check in the Main Menu -> Extras.

Disclaimer:
You need to begin each playthrough using the NEW STORY option and play chapters one after another, you cannot move between chapters using the CHAPTER SELECT options as it could void achievements. Skipping chapters does not update your choices or consequences, so don't do it.

You're only allowed to use the CHAPTER SELECT option if you made a mistake and want to re-do a chapter, but you must play every subsequent chapter from that point on.

The Hostage
Notes:
  • You can play this chapter any way you want, Connor can be killed or not.
  • Talk to the captain.
  • Exit to the balcony (confirm your choice).
  • Walk as far as you can towards Daniel on the edge.
  • Sacrifice yourself. You can try any of the options but ultimately Connor will save Emma after failing to convince Daniel.

  • Purchase the paints and exit the way you came.
  • Take a sharp right at the corner of the mall and hug this wall all the way around.
  • Avoid the demonstrators (you can interact with them but it will take longer).
  • Reach the bus.

A New Home
Magazines:

  • Get out of the car and enter the house.
  • Pick up trash bin in the kitchen.
  • Interact with kitchen counter, the counter dividing the kitchen and the living room and the coffee table.
  • Take trash bags outside.
  • Clean the dining table.
  • Interact with the broken dishwasher (you will order a replacement).
  • Wash dishes manually.
  • Read the magazine on the dining table.
  • Report to Todd.
  • Head upstairs and enter first room (Todd's room).
  • Read the magazine directly to the right, on the shelf.
  • Tidy all the surfaces in the room, including the guitar.
  • Open the window and make the bed.
  • You can clean other rooms if you like.
  • Head to Alice's room at the end of the corridor to the right.
  • Make the bed and open the window (this will unlock a path).
  • Speak to Alice (don't use the Mother option as it will lower her opinion a bit).
  • She will leave the room and give you a key.
  • Open the box directly in front of you and interact with its contents.

  • Put the paint box down on the cabinet to the left near the entrance.
  • Head upstairs and across the balcony to the left.
  • Enter Carl's room.
  • Open the curtains, administer his medicine and take him to bathroom.
  • Wheel Carl to the top of the stairs (he'll use the lift).
  • Take him into the living area and set him up at the dining table.
  • Head into the kitchen, pick up the tray and take it to him.
  • After you're free to wander, head towards the coffee table in front of the TV and read the magazine sitting there.
  • Look to the bookshelves in front of the piano and pick a book to read (you can also play the piano or play chess, but this is the fastest option).
  • Take Carl into the studio and remove the sheet when prompted.

  • Take a left and you'll see a laundromat (in front of the motel).
  • Enter the laundromat and read the magazine on the shelf next to the door.
  • Exit and head right, across the road.
  • Take a left towards the bus stop, Alice will walk there.
  • Interact with Alice for a cutscene.
  • Behind the bus stop, a little further, there's a fenced area with an abandoned car.
  • Look through the fence and get in.
  • Look inside the car and smash the window.
  • Open the back door.
  • STAY HERE.

From The Dead
  • Analyze yourself.
  • Repair your legs.
  • Stand up and keep moving forward.
  • You'll see an android sticking out of the wall, he'll tell you about Jericho.
  • Squeeze through the chasm with a bunch of dying android's hands.
  • Once you're in the main junkyard area, walk to left to find an android's head sticking out.
  • Interact with it and a bunch android's bodies will fall on you.
  • Get out and recover the optical unit.
  • If you find the crawling android begging you to kill him, pick any option.
  • Go to the middle area, a few steps away from the begging android.
  • You'll find an android with the pump regulator.
  • Kill it and get the pump.
  • The audio processor is in a head on the right side area (from where you started).

  • Keep walking on this side of the street until you reach the "Park Here" sign.
  • Look to your left and through the fence, you'll see robot graffiti on the wall.
  • Scan the symbols (above the first robot and in the stomach of the third one).
  • The third symbol is blocked, crouch through the gap in the fence.
  • Remove the pallet and scan the symbol underneath.
  • Head into the abandoned parking lot.
  • Look up and to the left and you'll see a graffiti of an android's head.
  • Scan the symbol over its eye. The other symbols are out of view.
  • Drag the blue dumpster and climb on top.
  • Finish scanning the symbols (at the back of the android's head in the machinery, barely visible in white at the top right and in black below it).
  • Pre-construct the route (choose right and up).
  • Head forward and drop off the roof.
  • Scan the "Detroit Sparkle City" mural (one is at the bottom, the next one in yellow between the two words, and the last one near the broken ladder).
  • Pre-construct the route again (choose left side twice and then right).
  • Head inside the abandoned building and towards the back windows.
  • Turn around and you'll notice a red symbol in the opposite wall.
  • Line up your screen until you can scan the symbol.
  • Keep moving forwards, through the gap in the wall and upstairs.
  • Once outside, keep to the left and jump onto the tower.
  • Head up all the way to the end of the crane and jump off.
  • Head out of the water and through the yellow door.
  • Grab the flashlight on the wall.
  • Keep pushing ahead.
  • Ignore the yellow door directly in front of you, take a left and then a right.
  • You'll see someone run across, follow them.

  • Look to your left and through the fence, you'll see robot graffiti on the wall.

  • The third symbol is blocked, crouch through the gap in the fence.

    • The broadcast android does not open fire in the corridor during 'Public Enemy'. If he does, Connor sacrificing himself as a bullet shield for Hank will help a bit.
    • Conduct a peaceful riot during 'Capitol Park'.
    • Stand your ground and sacrifice during 'Freedom March' (if you can survive it).
    • Send a peaceful message (FREE or ALIVE) to journalists when building the barricade during 'Battle For Detroit'.
    When the soldiers close in on you, kiss North (if you've developed a relationship) or sing to the soldiers. This will cause the soldiers to stand down.

  • Achieved during 'Battle for Detroit'. This is mutually exclusive to 'SAFE HARBOR' achievement so you can't get both in one playthrough. In order to end up in the recycling center Kara must surrender to the police during 'Crossroads' (instead of playing dead), or get caught while sneaking through 'Battle for Detroit'. If Markus chooses to attack the camp in Battle for Detroit and succeeds then you only need to::
    • Keep Alice calm throughout the chapter.
    • Avoid the spotlight.
    • Speak to the Jerries in the first enclosure.
    • Ask Jerry to sacrifice himself in the second enclosure so you can reach Alice (avoiding the spotlight).
    • Wait for your turn in the recycling machine and Markus' soldiers will save you at the last minute.
    If Markus does not choose a violent assault (or fails in the attempt):
    • You need to have at least two of these three androids available in the camp: Luther (if he survived 'Midnight Train' and 'Crossroads'), Zlatko's monster (if you released him during 'Zlatko') or Ralph (if you slept in the abandoned house and kept him reasonably happy during 'Fugitives')
    • Keep Alice calm and always obey orders as Kara, until the android gets shot.
    • Offer to go in the other android's place to dump the body. Climb up on the truck to observe it but don't leave.
    • Talk to the Jerries in the enclosure, speak to Zlatko's monster and/or Ralph if they're there (convince Ralph to calm down).
    • In the second enclosure, get a Jerry to sacrifice itself so that you can run across to Alice (avoiding the spotlight).
    • Keep moving in line but look at the barbed wire on the right for an escape route. Get Luther/Zlatko's monster/Ralph to create another diversion.
    • Run for the barbed wire and pass the QTEs. Choose to fight the soldier instead of running away and again pass the QTEs to escape. If you fail the QTEs but you still have a spare third ally (Zlatko's monster, Ralph or Luther) they will sacrifice themselves and you'll still get away.

Kara must reach the bus depot (take the shorter route and trick the checkpoint guards) and Kara must steal the tickets from the couple. If Markus is conducting a peaceful protest you should be able to get through security without sacrificing anyone. If he hasn't won over public opinion, you must save Jerry early on and then accept his sacrifice to get across the border. You will miss the achievement if you do not make it to the bus

MISSION COMPLETE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Connor killed the leader of the deviants
  • Achieved during 'Battle for Detroit'. This is mutually exclusive to 'MY TURN TO DECIDE' achievement so you can't get both in one playthrough. If Connor becomes deviant you must survive until the end of the chapter. Stand still when you are sent to the zen garden during Markus' speech, and let the invisible timer run out, you will automatically complete the mission. If Connor remains a machine, make sure to immediately shoot Markus/North or successfully fight off your attacker while on the roof.
    • If Markus fails at the camp (when attacking the machine gun), Connor will have a final chance to kill him.
    • If Markus gets past the machine gun, choose to play as Connor and defeat him.
    • If Markus is dead, North will automatically fail to reach the camp and Connor will have a final chance to kill her.

    • Successfully interrogate the android and intervene during 'The Interrogation'.
    • Save Hank during 'The Nest'.

    • Show doubt and fear during 'The Bridge'.

Connor died and returned at every opportunity before reaching the end
  • Connor must die at every opportunity in the game all the way up to Night of the Soul. This requires you to keep Hank hostile as one of those deaths will be by his hand.
    1. Fail to stop Daniel losing it during 'The Hostage' but make sure you've gotten close enough to sacrifice yourself.
    2. Spill Hank's drink and make sure you find the deviant in the attic during 'Partners'.
    3. Probe the android's memory during 'The Interrogation', say something cold to him before leaving the room and then choose to intervene.
    4. Kara and Alice must fail to evade the police during 'On the Run', which will happen automatically if you sleep in the abandoned house during 'Fugitives'. Keep up with them as Connor and get on the highway, then fail all QTEs to get splatted.
    5. Successfully find Rupert during 'The Nest' but make sure to fall off the first glass roof you slide down while chasing him.
    6. If Hank is already hostile when reaching 'The Eden Club', stay idle until you automatically fail, else shoot the Tracis at the end.
    7. At 'The Bridge', Hank must already be hostile. Act cold and aggressive, and then defy him when he has a gun on you.
    8. Successfully interrogate the broadcast android during 'Public Enemy' and repair yourself after his attack. Protect Hank in the hallway.
    9. If you shoot the Chloe during 'Meet Kamski', don't ask Kamski about Jericho.
    10. When you reach 'Last Chance, Connor', Hank will bail on you so distract the FBI agent by releasing the prisoner. Ignore Chris when confronted. After finding Jericho's location, fail the QTEs during the fight with him.
    11. During 'Crossroads', try to run when confronted by the soldier and you'll be shot in the back.

The I'LL BE BACK achievement guide is wrong. Currently it says: Probe the android's memory during 'The Interrogation', say something cold to him before leaving the room and then choose not to intervene , but you should actually intervene to get shot, otherwise the suspect is just going to self-destruct, and Connor is not going to die in this chapter.
