How to play host an online game [no port forward] [multiplayer]

It can be quite annoying to set up multiplayer,
but in this guide, I'll show you how to do it without port forwarding!

Creating a game account.

Not sure if this is required, but it's hlpfull for keeping track of friends,
you can sign up for your torhlight2 account here:

and I'd suggest using the 'link with steam option'
you'll see it when your account is created.

Download an install Tunngle

It's similar to hamachi execpt it's made for games, and offers communiuty featurs:

[SLOW METHOD]
The defaut download uses an online installer,
once you download it, and run it, it will need to download more files... at 9-10kbps!! (very slow)
and it will take a bout 20mins.

[FAST METHOD]
get the offline installer here:

once it's downloaded, just extract the files,
then run the setup program

it's a mirror, and I got the link from the offical site, and I scanned it for viruses myself.

Installing:

it will ask you to if you want to chekc for updates, just say "no".

Just like a normall installer, it will ask about insalling an interface, or adaptor or something,
say 'install'
it should look like this:

once all that's done, it will ask you to reboot, do so.

Setting up Tunngle

if it dose not open my it's self, launch Tunngle from your start menu,

If you have hamachi installed:
turn it off (click the power button in the hamachi window), then go to
start -> control panel -> network and sharing -> change adaptor setting
then 'right click' on 'hamachi' and pick 'disable' from the list.

Now you should have the window open:
You'll need an account for this too, (sorry)
sign up here:
http://www.tunngle.net/community/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=register&l=en

then in the spot I marked with a '1' in the screen shot,
type in your username, and password, then log in.

after that, you'll see a searchbox in the top right, for some reason it dose not work,
to get to the working one click the '>>' next to it.

Note: click the speaker I marked with a '2' to mute the chat noises.

then you'll see this:
in the box type: Torchlight
and press 'Tunngle Search'


now you'll see a list of all the networks that are set up for torchlight 1 and 2
You can pick any of the 'torchlight II' networks, but all your friends will need to be on the same one.
there is a USA one with less people, but I picked the main one.


Double click on the network to join it. and you will be added!
you'll now have a private IP, and will be able to host games for all your firends,
just make sure they are on the same tunngle network as you!

Just use the lan option, and you can create a game.
Then your friends can go to the lan option, and join your game!
