Introduction
Welcome to our unofficial guide of Royal Alchemist, made truly by my best assistant—xadako who had been aiding me through my entire game-plays. I hope all the players who buy this game knows what they are getting into because this is not a simple visual novel where you can laze around, sit comfortably with snacks while clicking that auto button to read the story in constant pace… But, there is status building involved and there are lots of important decisions that you could make away with flying colors only if your status meets the requirement.

There are two modes; Story (Easy) and Adventure (Hard) mode.
For Adventure mode, all status requirement will have +10 points added to the base point (See more info about Status Checkpoints below).
Basic Information
First of all, before we delve deeper into whoever route, let's get the basic laid out to us. The timeline of this game is broken into 60 Weeks.

Each week is spent either:
(x) Create an item via Alchemy*
(a) Doing Classes to increase your status,
(b) Do Mission*,
(c) An auto-run event a.k.a important main story which means you can do nothing in that week(s) except to go on with the story,

*Unlockable after passing Week 4 in-game.


In summary, the cycle of every Week will go like this:
    (New Week) Main Story Event >> Alchemy (optional) >> Class / Mission >> (Next New Week) Main Story Event >> repeats
*You will receive your Weekly Income after ending each week..


Let's start with an elaborate description of each task!
Quick note, if you see specific capitalised words, that means they are terms existed in the game.

  1. Class [C]: this is the action to raise the MC's status and all Princes' Elemental Magic skill. Always available to you in every week except when you are forced into a story event.

  2. Mission [M]: this benefits you on certain things such as increasing your Weekly Income, earning Factions Approval and certain Prince's Affection. Untaken Missions can expire and obviously, you can't do expired Missions. Please also note that you cannot do Class and Mission on the same week. You can only pick one of them for each available week.

  3. Alchemy [A]: as the name implies, you create an item which might be used as Mission's requirement, main story progression and also item requested by Faction leaders. Alchemy requires money (a.k.a your income) AND the Princes' Elemental Magic skill, Unlike Class or Mission, this action does not take your whole week so feel free to do this anytime you can/want in conjunction to Class/Mission, but it must be done before choosing Class/Mission.
Hero/ine Status Building & Lecture Class
Status Building
For the Hero/Heroine, there are a total of 6 Status to build:



  • Beauty: It's about how you present yourself and the manner in the court.
  • Intelligence: This status will be one of the most important to build if you want to survive a life-threatening situation and progress with the story. Even if other Princes might not focus on this status, it is still a must to have high Intelligence unless you want to enter Death Routes.
  • Etiquette: Shows how you conduct your manners.
  • Combat: This is another important status to build, if you want to escape Death Routes. It represents your physical ability and fighting skill.
  • Charisma: The way you have influence over other people in the court.
  • Leadership: Self-explanatory. Be the boss of your people!
Each Status correspond to their respective Prince, so if you want to get into certain Prince's route, it is a must to pay attention on which status should have higher points than the rest.
For a starter, these are the status you need to majorly invest on if you're going for:
  • Prince Serin: Beauty, Etiquette, Charisma
  • Prince Nazir: Intelligence, Leadership
  • Prince Aurelius: Etiquette, Combat

The Lectures
Always save your game before going to your Lecture class.

The class exists for the Hero/ine and the three Princes. Each character will get 3x empty slots in which we decide what kind of status (they call it "Lecture" in game) we want to build in that session. You may repeat the same status three times (e.g. learning Combat 3x).



This mechanics, however, generate random numbers which (I suppose) depends purely on luck factor. The number you can get range from +2 (lowest) to +6 (highest). If you're patient enough, every time you have a bad roll, just load your save file, attend the Class, and see if you have better luck this time! Things will get easierlater if you could manage to always get >= 4 for each status. I won't recommend continuing the game if you get straight +3s or +2,+4,+6.
My average standard is +4,+4,+5 or +3,+6,+5.

Focus on the RNG of the main Hero/ine. You can get +3 for the Princes, although of course the higher, the better.

The maximum level of your Status is around 170. And why I said "around", is because once you hit 170, you will unlock the Achievements for each status you maximised. You may go even higher than >170 but it's pretty pointless and you should just invest on raising other status.


Status Checkpoint
Here's the tricky part of the game!
You think you can just spend your whole week building up certain status to the max and secure a Prince's route as fast as possible? The game won't let it happen too easily. I told you, the path to becoming an Invisible Royal Alchemist ain't easy!

As you're progressing with the main story, you will have "Status Check" appeared on your screen. Status Check applies to the main story regardless of which Prince's route you take. They could have same checkpoint in general event, and different checks once you enter the Prince's route. This is why you should never neglect building other status, although you have to focus on having high score on the preferred status as well.

MAX OUT (170) THE PREFERRED STATUS BY WEEK 58!

You may have also realised a pattern where the Checkpoints will always be a multiple of 5 or 10, so if you fail at 65 but succeed at 75, the requirement would probably be 70/75,

If you choose Adventure more, add +10 points for every Checkpoints, that's the requirement you will need to pass.

Tips #1: The most common checkpoints to appear are Intelligence Check and Combat Check, mainly due to our life-threatening situation.

Tips #2: Make use of Save slots. There is no hint on when Status Check will appear, so just pray you have lots of backup save or you can enjoy the miserable "Status Check: Failed", which could also possibly lead you to your death.

Tips #3
: Death Route is not always so miserable... except for the point where you have to restart the game from 0. More info about this on [Death Route] section. Although if you already play the game, you might know that I mean.
Princes' Elemental Magic
Magic Affinities
As introduced in the game, Serin, Nazir and Aurelius each majors in 2 Elemental (Magic) Affinities, but are weak with the other four.
  • Serin: Light, Wood
  • Nazir: Fire. Wind
  • Aurelius: Water, Darkness

This mean it will be easier for them to raise the elemental status which correspond to their Affinities, enabling you to get +4 to +6 depending on your luck. In return, if you're trying to make them learn Elemental Magic which is not part of their Affinities, you can only get +4 at the highest.

Once you enter a certain Prince's route, you have to max their main Affinities (remember my benchmark for max points is around 170).


Elemental Magic Check
Just like how the Hero/ine gets a Status Check, the princes get their own checkpoints as well. Generally, as you get into certain Prince's route, you can pass the Check if you have enough points for the Prince's main Affinities. For example, if you're into Nazir's route, it's always good to focus on learning Wind and Fire.

There is 1 RARE case in which Serin is required to get learn his other minor Affinities (Wind when you play in Nazir's route, and Darkness when you play in Aurelius').


Tips on Elemental Magic and Alchemy
There is really no concrete order on which magic should they learn this week, next week, and the next, next week. It all comes back to your own decision, the timeline on when the Check happens, and your gacha skill.

Tips #4: you can try to list down all the Alchemy items and note what elements are needed to create those items. Once sorted, you can start assigning the Princes to create certain items

    IMPORTANT REMINDER: However, if you're building Nazir for the sake of making Cream Tarts, make sure you create Cream Tarts before Week 50, since Nazir will be gone from Week 51 onwards (he'll be back on his own route, but you'd risk missing the deadline).

As we all know, each Prince would probably have their major affinities maxed out at the end of the day, and my maximum standard is 170. Using this logic, I assign Nazir--who's bound to have 170 Fire and 170 Wind--to create "Cream Tarts". In addition to Nazir's Fire and Wind, I'll make him learn Wood until it reaches 110. Aurelius might seem like the one with the heaviest task, but since Darkness and Water are his major affinities, he'll be fine.

Notes: While you can rely on this list, please try to own ALL item when you play the game later, else you won't be able to create the items and miss some requests to gain Approvals.
Tips #5: Do not take it easy and only focus on one or two type of Affinities. Remember some Items can also affect the storyline. What would happen if you only focus on building Water and Darkness for Aurelius since Week 1, when suddenly you're in Week 15 and the main event requires you to create an Explosive in Week 16? You have no way to reach +30 Fire just in one week. Build their main affinities, but always check your calendar to know when is the right time to let them learn other affinities.
Prince's Love Meter
You will notice the three princes have their own bar, which I simply called "Love Meter".




In every event/conversation/mission you have with the prince, if you behave nicely and pick the correct answer, their love value will increase bit by bit. If you pick the correct answer in an important conversation, their love value might suddenly increase greatly.

Raising the prince's love meter should be a much easier task than the status building itself. All you have to do is to behave nicely and elegantly, and use every opportunities to pick the options related to the said prince (e.g. night event in Week 7).

You should be able to tell if you're catching the right Prince in Week 11.


Endings
There are 2 Endings for each Prince; Romantic End and Friendship End.
In addition to that, there is 1 General Ending where Hero/ibe doesn't really end up with anyone... i guess.

Romantic Ending: MAX OUT the Prince's preferred status before Week 57-59. Respond positively to his confession later.
  • Nazir: Leadership and Intelligence
  • Aurelius: Combat, Ettiquete and Intelligence
  • Serin: Beauty, Charisma and Intelligence
*Notes: I know Aurelius aren't suppose to require a maxed Intelligence, but during my playthrough with his route, I had the need to. So if you want to be safe, just do it.

Friendship Ending: MAX OUT the Prince's preferred status before Week 57-59, BUT halfway into the prince's route, try not to get too romantic with him by picking the least favorable choices during conversation. Be neutral and don't get too enthusiastic.
I forgot the option in the other two prince routes, but, If you're on Nazir's route, in Week 57, pick *"I'm not sure yet" right after he confessed.

General Ending: Follow the same steps of Friendship Ending.
If you're on Nazir's route, in Week 57, pick "I'm sorry, Nazir" after he confessed.

I believe you can survive the choices of romance since the status building is a hell lot harder than falling in love itself.
Main Walkthrough: Introduction
Since we've pretty much covered the basic terms and gameplay mechanic in above section, it's time to finally move on with the main walkthrough! ...Well, rather than a concrete walkthrough, I'd say it's more like self-record of my own playthough, which hopefully can be useful as your guidelines.

Following this timeline summary, you may check the detailed version on the guide.
This guide mostly records my own status building statistics and what Missions I do on certain routes. However, there are general things that I always do on every route, which are:

1. On Week 30, and Week 38 depending on which route you take, you will teach 2 Princes together in the same class. The other prince (whom you aren't pursuing) will have their minor magic affinity checked. The minor magic affinity that the other prince needs to learn is one of the main prince's major affinity (the route you're on).

(e.g. Serin will need to learn Wind on Nazir's route, or Darkness on Aurelius' route. Please check the guide below and jump to Week 30 & Week 38 of each Prince if you wish to know the requirement).

2. Max out Combat (170 points) by Week 58 for EVERY route.
And try to build your Leadership to be around 150 points (should be easy on Nazir's route) along the way.

3. Once Mission "Duke Gronos" is out nearing the final weeks, go for it. It will increase all your status by +15.. There are other Mission you need to do to unlock it though

4. Do Missions that gives you all set of Approvals (there are 4 faction) like "Rare Herb"

5. Always accept requests and create the required items.

6. Missions will increase your Weekly income

7. Doing certain Missions (representing each Prince) may give you boost to the Prince's Magic.

8. Focus on collecting Daily Lifes of the Prince you're going for in each separate playthrough.

9 There seems to be Hidden Check somewhere in this games... This kind of check doesn't let you know if you 've succeeded (the story progresses as it is) BUT if you failed, there will be a notification. I'm not sure about this one, but if you have any info let me know and I'll update!
Nazir's Walkthrough: Week 0-11
(Welcome to Week 0, where your hell everything starts.

Since the three Princes differ greatly in preference and elemental magic, my way of playing the game is to do status-building specifically for each Prince since Week 0. Therefore, this guide will be very specific and loooooong.)

Notes: Most choices will give you an additional boost, but if there's nothing written, that means it affects nothing.

Let's enter the second arc of Royal Alchemist, shall we?
Eventually, from this point onwards, the standard for every checkpoints are totally based on my own assumption combined with experience.

For example, in Week 22 I wrote down the requirement as "!Beauty >30" because my Beauty has reached 36 points by Week 22. MAYBE, there is a chance that the standard is actually lower and you can still pass with 25 points, but I rather not take the risk. Sometimes I'll also wrote it down in a range of number like "50-70" with 50 being my assumption, and 70 being my current actual status.

tl;dr, try to keep up with my status to be safe if you can.

Actually there is the last one called Council Approval, but for some reason I think they can only be gained automatically as the story progress. Congratulation, we've finally conclude Nazir's route! Did you manage to get all the endings? Apparently I dare say Nazir's route is the easiest, because Intelligence is both crucial to the main story and Nazir's event.

Tips #7: Before proceeding to Aurelius/Serin's route, I suggest you try getting some Daily Deaths. This will help a lot in giving you a boost for status building. If you're a hardcore, then go ahead and proceed as you'd like without collecting Deaths. How to obtain Daily Deaths has been covered in the other section.[/table][/tr]

If you have already followed my first Nazir's playthrough, things should at least be easier for you.

If you jumped through Nazir's guide and this is your first playthrough, I shall once again introduce you to my guide that will serve only as your guideline/reference so you may know how many points you'll need to pass the checkpoints, and what may happen later in the story.

Tips #8: At the end of the day, you only need the minimum of ~140 Etiquette, ~150 Intelligence, 170 Combat, and POSSIBLY ~150 Leadership. Focus on the first three (and other status that have checkpoints according to their respective weeks, but if you have free slots, work on your Leadership. In Week 59, There are Leadership Check COMING OUT OF NOWHERE. I was only able to get around ~120 but it was never enough, so I assume you need over 150 at least. The good news is, even if you fail the Leadership Check, the story still progresses. No game over.

Have you experienced any deaths in Royal Alchemist yet?
If not... Wow! You're so good at becoming the Invisible Royal Alchemist then! However though, there is also a benefit in your death(s).

You'll notice there's a section for "Daily Deaths" in your Grimoire. Unlocking death scenes will give you an additional (and invisible) 1-2 points to your base status when you turn ON the bonuses from your Grimoire.





This points can't be seen on your screen--hence the "invisible" term--but it directly influences the game system (i.e. coding). For example, after your turned them on, your Beauty is written as "30", but in actuality it's "30+(2)" which makes your status 32.

The more deaths you unlocked, the more bonuses you could get. There are 24 Daily Deaths in total, so good luck in finding them all! There's a specific achievement for that as well.

Tips: Death mostly happened when your Combat Check fails. Any checkpoints with "Combat Check" have potentials to lead to Death Routes. In some cases like Aurelius' route though, Combat is required to keep the Romantic ending or Affection in place, so you might want to have separate Save files for them.

Tips: Mission with !Combat requirement has big chance of leading you to Death when you fail Combat Check.

Daily Life
It's like a trading cards you get by completing Missions. You can access it from your Grimoire. Each prince has a total of 8 Daily Life to unlock, plus an extra 4 Others.






The easiest way to spot Daily Life is by going for Mission with the respective Prince (e.g. if that Mission mentions a certain Prince's name). You'll also notice that each mission actually shows a Status icon in the corner, and so does the Daily Life slots in your Grimoire.

The guide for each Prince's route may also cover some Daily Lifes.
Missions
Unlocked in Week 2.
Missions can expire after certain periods of time (usually after a major event is happening).

Benefits:ro
- Raise your Weekly Income.
- Gain Approvals(s).
- Raise certain's prince affection (for some Missions).
- Unlock more future MIssion.
- Unlock the Prince's Daily Life

Requirement of doing Mission:
- Item (Alchemy)
- Hero/ine status check
- The Prince's elemental magic check

Tips: Failing certain Missions can give you Daily Deaths.

Wanted to say Combat is actually completely unneeded for Serin's route unless you wanna do specific MIssions. All the death checks involving combat have an alternate Intelligence check, or even stat independent Lotus Dart option instead.

one thing tho, daily death #4 is labeled to be under Nazir's route and requires a wind fail but a fire pass. I tried this twice and got either daily death #3 or #5. I'm fairly certain this is under Serin's route for #4 specifically

Also, there are actually three ways to die during weeks 45 - 47. You can be killed when you discover the ambassador's body (failing your combat/intelligence check), or you can be taken by the Mahrenians right after the new Mahrenian ambassador arrives (failing Council Approval), or you can be jailed for a week and then handed over to the Mahrenians (failing at least the merchant and servant approval check, maybe more).

Mission Death Ending - If you fail the combat check for the Duke Gronos mission (the one titled "Duke Gronos", not the salt farm one), you will be assassinated! :-)

Also, in week 50 of Aurelius' route, failing the combat check does not (sadly?) result in dying.
