All you have to do...
Hey you! Yes you. Are you tired of being constantly at the rank 3-4 in pursuit of rank 1 achievement for survivor? You don't need to be red ranks all the time, you just want to get there once for the achievement? Worry not - i have some good tips for you, to do it sooner than later.

How can i be so sure this will help you? Because i was in the same spot as you, and i managed to do it at DbD 4th anniversery. 100% unlocked achievements is all that you want and nothing else matters.

You don't need to be loop god. You don't need to play with premades. You don't need perks from DLC (some of them might be helpful, but it is totally achievable without them).

All you had to do is...

...is to understand how emblems work.
Bloodpoints does not equal emblems! You can get 14k and get double pip, if you are doing things right.
  • You can die and still double pip (not on red ranks tho).
  • You can escape and get -1 pip.
  • All these things are [redacted], but this is how it is now.
Different ranks requies different amount of emblem points to get +1/+2 pips, but if you'll play accordingly to knowledge gained here, you will know how to pip on red ranks. If you know how to pip on red ranks, then you will pip up on all previous ones as well (if this is what you want of course).

You need certain amount of points to pip up (example above is based on red ranks). They are represented as red bars on horizontal axis;
you can check it after the game at ONLINE SURVIVOR RANK tab:

*8 or less points will decrease your rank by 1 pip
*9-11 points is for 0 pips in either side (aka safe pip)
*12-14 points will reward you with 1 pip
*15-16 points will give you 2 pips

To get rank up you need 5 pips (treshholds for pipping are lower the closer you get to rank 20, but who cares about them - this guide is for tryhards not casuals).

Emblems quality are:
-no emblem (0 points)
-bronze emblem (1 point)
-silver emblem (2 points)
-gold emblem (3 points)
-iridescent emblem (4 points)

To get iridescent emblem you need at least 100 points in respective category.
More on that you can find DbD wiki[deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com]

Emblems categories are...:
Lightbringer

Generators, destroying totems (both dull and hex) and opening the gates.
From my experience this emblem is very often overlooked when going for rank-up. To get Iridescent quality emblem in this category you need to do equivalent of around 3 full generators.
Progress from regressed generators also count for this - that is why gen-rushing won't give you rank up as there won't be enough generators to get better emblem.
Unbroken

You can get an iridescent emblem in this category ONLY if you weren't downed in a match.
You'll get gold if you escaped after being downed/hooked (hatch or gate).
If you have died, you can get silver emblem at most, based on time spent in match.

You will hardly ever get iridescent quality emblem in this category, but you should always aim for gold quality - escape. If you can't, go for silver (9 minutes in game).
Benevolent

One of the easiest iridescent emblems to do. The most important in this category are safe unhooks. To safely unhook survivor, he/she can't be downed for 10s after unhooking. Healing and protection hits are nice, but they do not reward as much for emblem.
If you are playing solo I will highly suggest to take "Borrow Time" and go for first two hooked survivors to not lose points. Randoms don't care about your rank and they can quite often unhook survivors unsafely. #farmingbloodpoints
Evader

Be like Locker Dwight - hide from killer BUT in terror radius. Safest way to earn points here is to camp near killer while not in chase (i would suggest playing Blendette with Iron Will for that; might not work against Daddy Myers/Demogorgon/Legion/Doctor/Oni/Spirit due to how their abilities work). Following killer while he/she chases someone else, or while he/she is going with downed survivor to hook is also an option to earn points here. Just don't get caught.

You will get a lot of points for pallet stuns, but experienced killers either won't fall for obvious pallet drops or they won't respect them. In this quest for achievement YOUR life is the most important. Don't be afraid to drop pallet early, if it will prevent you from being downed (remember about iridescent benevolent emblem).
The best way to earn points here is to win chases, but you would not need this guide if you was a competent looper, eh?
Perks
I used Iron Will/Calm Spirit/Decisive Strike/Borrow Time to climb to rank 1.
Borrow Time is a must for safe unhooks.
Decisive Strike is not neccessary, but you will face sooner or later tunnelers that don't care if you rank up or not - in such situations DS is a perfect tool to get one more chance and additional BP.
You can use Dead Hard if you want exhaustion option.
Prove Thyself is amazing when you seek opportunities for cooperation. Might be used with Bond.
Kindred also might be useful for solo queue. Randoms tends to be unorganized, and either nobody is going to unhook you, or everyone - kinderd will give them info neccessary to split efficiently.
Lightweight is also an option if you like to play ninja style.

Almost all perks here are from vanilla DbD, and you can climb to mountain top with them.
A few words on premades...

Playing with premades can be your advantage (if you are using voice comms), but it can also be a great disadvantage. When you are playing with someone, you may feel pressure to save them (even if this wrong move at this time), or to get killed prematurely even when you could escape (to not keep them waiting for you). Experienced killers can also take advantage on that, switching their strategy accordingly to play against premades.
As you may see, it can be a great enemy of ranking up. It greatly depends on who you play with, and what is your level of cooperation.
Judge for yourself - it is achievable in both variants.
Rank reset

Even tho ranks are pretty much useless and gives us no rewards(apart from achievements) - we have rank resets. They happens at 13th of each month (different hour in each timezone) - so if you think it may take you a while to get to rank 1, start at 14th to have the maximum window of time to get there.
