While downloading a program and mapping the controls for this game is one way to resolve this issue, some gamers dont want to have to purchase a playstation/pc compatible controller to do so. This guide will highlight the seemingly random keyboard functions, and what each of them does. I will provide alternate controls so you may decide which is best suited for your own use. The controls are listed in the order that you will encounter them in-game.

Note: There are multiple keys for each function, but I have selected the two most convenient buttons for each function for the purposes of this guide. Let me know if I've missed an action.

The Controls

Fullscreen Mode:
ALT + Enter (together)

Movement:
WASD , Up Down Left Right arrow keys

Inventory:
Spacebar

Pause Game:
P

Attack:
Mouse 1, J

Defend:
Mouse 2, I

Use/ Select:
U , Enter

Absorb Souls:
Backspace, K

Charge Weapon (grab attack/sword charge):
Hold CTRL + Mouse 1

Charge Mode Movement:
Hold CTRL + WASD or Arrow Keys

Special attack:
L , 4

Grapple onto Fairy/ Bow Attack:
Hold CTRL + U or Enter

Demon Transformation (Onimusha):
N

Display Present Location:

Turn 180 Degrees:
O

Movement Mode (Combat):
Hold Shift

Movement Mode attacks:
Hold Shift + S + Mouse 1

Movement Mode Jump Back:
Hold Shift + S (Down Arrow)

Movement Mode Run:
Hold Shift + W (Up Arrow)

Movement Mode Rotate (on the spot)
Hold Shift + A or D (Left or Right Arrows)

The retail version's control scheme is actually closer to the Onimusha Warlords HD's control scheme, someone in charge of the steam port screwed up lol
