Introduction to Community Awards

Steam Community Awards were added at the Steam Summer Sale Event 2020.
More about it can be found here: https://store.steampowered.com/points/howitworks

You can use these points to support a user that submitted and or contributed content on the Steam Community.

Community Awards

Use your points to emphasize reviews and User-Generated Content on Steam with an Award. The Award will appear for all to see and also give the contributor a tip of 100 Points.

Sometimes you read a review that was helpful, unique, or just written so well that you want to shake that person's hand. Now you can recognize their work by giving them an award.

Browse games and read some reviews.

Some user generated content is so great you want to print it out, frame it and hang on the wall. Now you can also recognize that workshop item, screenshot or guide by giving it an award.

Impressed with another player's profile? Amazed at someone's insightful post in a discussion board? Points can now be used to directly reward and recognize Steam player profiles and discussion board posts.

To obtain: A user has to give an award to one of your Community submited content, such as but not limited to: Guides, Reviews, Workshop Items, Screenshots, Artworks, Videos.

You've given x award(s) in exchange for some of your points-wealth to those community members who make Steam a more vibrant and creative place. Power to the people! They appreciate your support.

To obtain: Support community content by giving it an award.

How it works / How to award

What happens if someone awards one of my user-generated content?

If you receive an award from somebody else. You will receive 100 points. Should you have not received them yet, you should receive them in 14 days.

How do I award someone?

After clicking on Award, a Pop-out will show up. Here you can select what kind of award you want to award. In this example, this are the current awards that you can for guides.

A confirmation will then show up.

For every certain Community Submissons there are different awards that you can hand out. All of the awards seem to cost 300 Steam Points.

You can give awards to User Profiles, Steam Discussions, Guides, Reviews, Workshop Items, Screenshots, Artworks and Videos.
