GRIS: Eel Achievement (Chapter 4: Checkpoint 2)

Eel
Avoid eel bites.
To get this achievement, you need to survive 2 eel encounters without getting bit.

The Eel have 2 types of attack animation:

1. Telegraphed Attacks.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀


2. Snap Attacks.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀

Do not panic!

You only need to dash telegraphed attacks. Do not spam the dash button, as you will have enough reaction time to dodge it.

For this achievement, you need to dash through all telegraphed attacks.

If you dash too early or too late, you'll get bit and need to restart the encounter.

1st Encounter

Start on Chapter 4: Checkpoint 2 and finish the Turtle section.

The Eel will attack from the left side with this attack sequence:
Snap - Telegraphed - Telegraphed - Snap - Telegraphed - Telegraphed (Medium Eel)





1. Telegraphed Attacks.
⠀⠀


2. Snap Attacks.
⠀⠀


If you failed to dash in time, quit the game and select continue from the main menu. You will start just before the statue.

2nd Encounter

After the dark cave section, the Eel will return to attack you.

The first attack is guaranteed to hit you, but it doesn't count for the achievement.

The Eel will attack from below with this attack sequence:
Snap - Telegraphed - Snap - Telegraphed - Snap - Snap - Snap





1. Telegraphed Attacks.

2. Snap Attacks.
⠀⠀


If you failed to dash in time, quit the game and select continue from the main menu. You will start just before the dark cave.

You will get the achievement after the turtle stops moving.

In other words, you dash while it closes? Don't do it preemptively?

When the eel is about to bite, it "wiggles" its mouth for a moment, you notice this movement in the gifs you added. That moment (when the eel mouth "wiggles") is the moment you should press jump

Very good guide for this achivement. A very good tip I would give is, if you are having problems with dodging the telegraphed attacks do this, every time the eal opens its mouth dodge and then spam dodge you will evade the attack at the exact time dodge works again, it worked very well for me the moment I found out this trick I got the achivement first try.
