WARNING: This guide is full of spoilers!!

If you want to try and reach some endings on your own, go ahead and close this guide, and come back later.


















Every Mystery in this Guide is written as a separate Section for the ease of navigation, and they're all listed alphabetically.

Currently, this Guide contains information about all Mysteries available in World of Horror version 1.0 ('Hokkaido' update).

Some Mysteries and/or their Endings are affected by Endings of other Mysteries; I've written down necessary information in such cases as well.

A note on Sidequests: In many mysteries, Sidequests potentially unlock different endings. Sometimes, they are not required for anything. Completing a Sidequest always gives 'Thorough Investigation' at Mystery's ending summary, which nets +15 bonus Experience.
ALARMING ACCOUNT OF ABNORMAL ARMS
Endings vary depending on Timeline: 'World of Horror' allows you to reach Ending A, 'Occult Capital of Japan/Halloween 2020' allows you to reach Ending B.

Ending A: "PERVERT"
You reach it no matter what you do.

The only difference is that if you finish the Sidequest (Investigate Hospital x2), you receive TINY KEY, which can be used during Spine-Chilling Story of Schools Scissors, or to obtain Goblet from a School event.

Ending B: "CENTIPEDE"
You reach it no matter what you do.

At the end, you will be forced to fight the Vent Crawler enemy boss, which has 30+HP and deals STA damage. Unlike Ending A, you don't get TINY KEY from it, even if you do the Sidequest.
BIZARRE BRUIT OF BLOOD-CURDLING BOTANIST
Ending A, "CLEANSED WITH FIRE":
YOU REQUIRE 'FIRE AXE' WEAPON FOR THIS ENDING. Unless you're using custom events, the only way to obtain the Fire Axe is to defeat Mad Janitor in Mermaids' Mystery (Ending A, "MORBID DISCOVERY").
First of all, finish the Sidequest (investigate School x2) to learn about Cordyceps mushrooms. Then progress through the mystery until the abandoned building. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FIRE AXE EQUIPPED, then start the 'fight' with Shiro-San. Use the option 'Check Injuries' to reveal Shiro-San's true form. The encounter will turn into a normal combat, and Shiro-San's attacks are quite painful, so prepare accordingly.
With the Shroom-San exposed, use the other special option to clear the blocked doorway with your Fire Axe.
Next Turn, you have an option to 'Investigate Van', do so to find the 'DIY Flamethrower'. Equip this wondrous weapon of mass destruction (its quick to equip in combat), and burn down Shiro-San to ashes.
Note: Shiro-San's Health depends on how much Health he had at the moment you've checked his injuries. If you let the plants attack him few times, his true form's Health can drop to as low as 15 points, making the fight much easier.

Ending B, "FUNGICIDE":
Finish the Sidequest (investigate School x2), reach Shiro-San, and use the option Check Injuries to reveal his 'true form', and then defeat Shiro-San.

Ending C, "STILL MISSING":
Reach Shiro-San and successfully lead him out of the abandoned building. This requires you to use 'Lead Shiro' option 11 times. You can Lead Shiro 2x per Turn, and you can do so 4 times until Shiro-San's HP drops to 3 points. After that, you will need to use 'Lead' and 'Protect' combo for 3 turns. The plants' attacks are quite nasty, so prepare accordingly.
You can skip the whole 'Lead Shiro' part if you have Fire Axe equipped; with it, you can easily clear the blocked doorway and escape right away.

Ending D, "LACERATIONS":
Reach Shiro-San, and let him die to the plants' attacks.
BLOODY BRIEF OF A BECKONING BULLETIN
Ending A: LOUD AND CLEAR
First, complete the sidequest and read the note.Then, when you log in to the Bulletin, reply 'yes' to its initial question, and then pick 'Remember the Note' option. From the three options present, choose 'You can't save everyone' for the modem to postpone its schemes.

Ending B: CONNECTION TROUBLE
At the end of the mystery, do what the Bulletin wants you to do: Put the phone to your ear. You will then fight TOGETHER, the possessed modem.
You can also get this ending if you go to Ending A options and pick either 'Suffering is Human' or 'I don't want to die' options; these will penalize you with minus 5 Stamina/5 Reason and a boost to max Stamina/max Reason, respectively, before the fight begins.

Ending C: DISCONNECTED
Go all the way to the end of the mystery. The very moment you log to the Bulletin, answer 'no' to its question. You will receive -3 Reason, +5% Doom and +3 Funds for this.
CHILLING CHRONICLE OF A CRIMSON CAPE
Ending A, "RED COAT (THING)": Finish the Sidequest (learn gossip about Aka Manto), then proceed all the way until the meeting with Aka Manto. Choose 'I don't want anything from you!' option, and defeat Aka Manto's True Form.
Note: If, during your current playthrough, you've burned down the school via Ending C of Mermaids' Mystery, the school will be abandoned, with all the Students gone, preventing you from listening to gossip and locking you out of this Ending.

Ending B, "RED COAT (MAN)": Proceed all the way until the meeting with Aka Manto. Choose either Blue or Red Paper (-5 Stamina from either option), then defeat Aka Manto. You will be given Crestfallen Mask, a slot C item that reduces Doom.
CURIOUS CASE OF A CONTAGIOUS COMA
Ending A, "DREAM DEVOURER": First of all, finish the Sidequest (investigate Village x2) to receive DUST OF SEEING Item. Proceed until the end of the Mystery, and when given the options, choose 'USE DUST OF SEEING', to reveal the Dream Devourer and then defeat it.
Dream Devourer is one of hardest bosses in WoH, so prepare accordingly. During the fight, you will have an option to 'Unplug a Patient' to deal 15 DMG to Dream Devourer, but losing 3 Reason in the process.

Ending B, "SATED... FOR NOW": Proceed until the end of the Mystery, and when given the option(s), INVESTIGATE the patients, receiving a -3 hit to your Reason.

Note: DUST OF SEEING is a very useful item against some enemies (like Mad Janitor or Holes monster in Mansion) early on, dropping their PWR (and thus raising your chances to hit them), so if you can afford that -3 Reason penalty, consider saving the dust for later, as it is not removed after end of the Mystery like other quest items.
EERIE EPISODE OF EVOLVING EELS
Note: You can safely ignore the Sidequest during this mystery, it is not required for any of the Endings.

Ending A, "EYE SURGERY":
Proceed until the moment you enter Neighbour's Apartment. Once there, head to Bedroom to find Kana. Choose 'We must puncture your eye now!' for -3 Reason penalty. Kana will then join you for the rest of your playthrough.

Ending B, "MISSING FRIEND":
Proceed until the moment you enter Neighbour's Apartment. Once there, head to Bedroom to find Kana, and take her to the hospital via 'we must go to hospital' option.

Ending C, "LEFT BEHIND":
Proceed until the moment you enter Neighbour's Apartment, and choose 'Leave' option.

Note: KANA is an extremely valuable ally if you have any Mysteries with bosses you need to fight (Mermaids, Scissors, Botanist), and she even lowers +DOOM attacks of certain enemies (up to and including Takashi-San at the Lighthouse), so it is recommended to go for Ending A whenever you can.
FAR-OUT FABLE OF A FEAR FESTIVAL
To be able to reach Ending C, you need to switch Timelines to 'Occult Capital of Japan/Halloween 2020'.

Ending A, "POLICE RAID":
For this ending, you need to explore Forest 6 times. You can do that 4 times in second part of the mystery (after Night 3), meaning you need to explore the Forest at least 2 times during days 2 and/or 3. Head to Abandoned Factory when the option to do so shows up on the map.

Ending B, "TOO LATE":
Do anything EXCEPT exploring the Forest until part 2, then head to Abandoned Factory when the option to do so shows up on the map. You receive a -2 Stamina penalty with this Ending.

Ending C, "THE RITUAL":
Proceed as if you were seeking out Ending A. Once the summoned being shows up, you will enter a fight with NAMELESS ONE. It has 133 HP or so and increases DOOM by 5, and its 'so massive your attack won't deal any damage'. Does it remind you of anything?
You have two special combat actions here:
Attack the Priest: Attacks the cult leader for 4 DMG, costs 70 time units. You need to deal 20 damage. Both damage and time taken scale with your skills, perks, or whatever. Once you deal enough damage, the fight ends abruptly, and you receive SPIRAL VEIL, a very useful Slot C item.
Run Away like a Coward: You run from the fight; this triggers Ending A instead.

Note: If you do manage to kill NAMELESS ONE (easiest to do is with Ashen Contract; the boss is 'circle' type enemy, not Eldritch), it triggers Ending A instead.

Other mystery findings:
Note: Once at the Inn, click the Painting for something special to happen.
Note 2: If you buy 2 tickets at the Festival lottery (evenings/nights), you gain access to another area within the village. As of 0.9.15, it is not accessible ('you are not ready to enter yet').
FREAKISH FABLE OF THE FRIGHTENING FLOOD
Ending A, "TRUST THE GOVERNMENT":
You need to rescue all 3 missing Scientists. To do that, visit School a total of 2 times, Forest 2 times, and Village 2 times.
Then, defeat the dual boss, T'CITHURA and KAIBARA'S VILLAGERS.
Note: Resting even once at the INN will prevent you from finding all 3 scientists, so come prepared and well-rested if you intend on getting this Ending.

Ending B, "SABBATICAL":
Proceed just like for Ending A, just don't find all 3 Scientists. Easy way is to find one then rest at INN until you're forced into endgame and the boss fight, which you must win.

Ending C, "BIGGEST LITTLE VILLAGE":
Get your Reason to 0 during fight with T'CITHURA and KAIBARA'S VILLAGERS. This will reward you with a special ending screen, too, with text depending on your character's gender.
FREAKY FEATURE OF FOUND FOOTAGE
Note: Completing the Sidequest is not required for any of the Endings, but instead disables 3 Forest 'tiles' in the second part of the quest.

Ending A, "SHUNNED HOUSE":
YOU NEED 'CAN OF ACID' ITEM FOR THIS ENDING. Without custom events, the only way to obtain it is to buy it for 2 FNDs in Hardware Store at Seaside.
Proceed all the way through the mystery until you find the abandoned house. Instead of grabbing the tapes, peek into the hole, and choose 'Pour Acid into the Hole' option. Like in Ending C, you will receive Forest Tapes item.

Ending B, "WISHING WELL":
Proceed all the way through the mystery until you find the abandoned house. Instead of grabbing the tapes, peek into the hole, and choose 'Lose Counsciousness' option.

Ending C, "TAPES":
Proceed all the way through the mystery until you find the abandoned house, and when given the option, grab the tapes and run. You will receive Forest Tapes item.

Note: As of 0.9.14 version, Forest Tapes cannot be repaired.
HORRIBLE HISTORY OF HOUSEHOLD HELL
Note: For Endings A and B, you require FLASHLIGHT item (to be able to change frequency). For Ending A, you also need to have at least 1 Ally.

Ending A, "INNER COIL" & Ending B, "BEAST AWAKENED":
First of all, finish the Sidequest (investigate Seaside x2), to receive the newspapers. In one of them there will be an audio frequency stated (seems to be random value anywhere rfom 400 to 499(?) Hz). Now proceed all the way through the Mansion screens until you reach the cave. Choose 'Explore Some More' option to find the speakers, and set them to the frequency stated in the newspaper.

You will now proceed to the fight with OETARU, which you cannot win. Instead:
For Ending A: Use the special action 'SACRIFICE ALLY', killing one of your allies (seems to be chosen randomly) for -3 Reason penalty.
For Ending B: Use the special action 'RUN AWAY', which overrides both the usual boss lock and Chtac-Atorasu's Old God ability.

Note: You do not need to finish the Sidequest to receive the newspapers and learn the frequency from them. You can 'brute force' it by changing the frequency by 1 Hz, then leaving the speakers' screen, seeing if the game locks you into approaching the altar. If it doesn't, go back to speakers' screen, change the frequency by 1 Hz again, and check the cave screen again, repeating this process until you find the correct frequency.

ENDING C, "MYSTERY BURIED DEEP":
Proceed with the mystery all the way to the cave. Once there, choose 'Step Closer' option without fiddling with the speakers in any way.
MACABRE MEMOIR OF MORBID MERMAIDS
Note: You can safely ignore the Sidequest for this Mystery, it is not required for any of the Endings.
To obtain Ending E, you need to switch the Timeline to 'Occult Capital of Japan/Halloween 2020'.

Ending A, "MORBID DISCOVERY":
Proceed all the way until the fight with Mad Janitor. Using whatever you have at the moment, defeat him. He is probably one of toughest bosses in World of Horror with lots of HP and high -STA attack, so prepare accordingly.
The 'Fire Axe' that he drops, besides being a very good weapon, is used during BIZARRE BRUIT OF BLOOD-CURDLING BOTANIST mystery (Endings A and C).

Ending B, "MERMAID IN A MANHOLE":
Proceed all the way until the fight with Mad Janitor. You will have a special option to 'Force Open Manhole', with or without tool. Wielding a CROWBAR might save you some time, but be prepared to tank Janitor's attacks for few turns before you eventually succeed.

Ending C, "FIRE AND WATER":
Proceed all the way until the fight with Mad Janitor, and pick 'Topple a Lamp' special option, winning the fight instantly.
This option gives you BURN Injury. It also burns down the School, changing Red Cape and Scissors' Woman mysteries a bit.

Ending D, "INSMASU CURSE":
YOU NEED 'INSMASU LOOK' CURSE FOR THIS ENDING. The most 'reliable' way is to consume a Lump of Flesh, which has 1/4 chance to give you that specific curse. You can also encounter it randomly from any curse-giving event. Either way, its matter of pure luck.
Proceed all the way until before the fight with Mad Janitor, where you will be given a special option to 'Distract Him', bypassing the fight entirely.
As of 0.9.14, there's no changes to gameplay/events/other mysteries, despite what the Ending says.

Ending E, "LONELY FISHMAN":
Proceed all the way until before the fight with Mad Janitor, where you will be given a special option to 'Notice his face', which exposes the Janitor as a Deep One. You have two options here:
Agree: +4% DOOM
Send Ally Instead: Kills the Ally, -2 REA. <== Research pending to see if Kana can be sent, as she gets special line of text saying she won't do it.
MYSTERIOUS MYTH OF MEDUSA METAMORPHOSIS
Note: You can safely ignore the Sidequest for this Mystery, it is not required for any of the Endings.

Ending A, "SKIN JELLYFISH":

You reach it automatically at the end of the mystery.

Still more interesting than the Arms, if you ask me.
NIGHTMARE NEWS OF THE NOISY NAILS
Ending A, "GRIEVING FATHER":

Reach the end without completing the Sidequest, and defeat Kabuki Killer.

Ending B, "UNFINISHED CHILD":

Complete the sidequest, reach the Mortuary, select 'is that... a human nail?' option, and defeat Unfinished Child.
PERILOUS PARABLE OF THE PECULIAR PAINTING
NOTE: This Mystery is locked behind 'Extended Pack D', which you acquire by winning the game 4 times.

Ending A, Doomed Artist: Follow the mystery until you meet Eimi. Then, visit every location where her mini-icon appears. When you reach Ichiro-san's studio and he asks you to wait at Foyer, investigate his Studio instead. Defeat 'The Painting' to reach this ending.

Ending B, Grand Vernissage: Same as above, but when Ichiro-san asks you to wait at Foyer, go there. You will automatically get this ending afterwards.

Ending C, The Show Must Go On: When you meet Eimi, just investigate random locations without her icon. After a while, you will be forced to investigate Private Rooms, where you will find and have to fight Ichiro-San. Defeat him to reach this ending.

Note: The tool shed can be visited only once for a free FLASHLIGHT. If you have FLASHLIGHT in your inventory already, it nets you CHAINSAW, a powerful perception-based weapon, but you need to buy FUEL for it at Hardware Shop.
RESTLESS RUMORS OF A RESIDENTIAL RECLUSE
Ending A, "FINALLY FREE":

Waste time every day, then at the end defeat the Roommate.

Ending B, "EVIL EVICTED":

Pay attention to the Days counter.

On Day 3, look through peephole and you will be shown a map with an X on it, as well as an icon for a Bed, Desk or Wardrobe.

On Day 5, go to your room and check the place that was shown on the map on Day 3. If you picked correctly, you will be given Stuffed Toy. If you've chosen wrongly, you will get +2 DOOM and will no longer be able to obtain Ending B.

On Day 7, when you approach the wall, you will be given the option to 'sacrifice the toy'. Do this, then defeat Roommate. You will get Ending B and Fleshy Toy, which you can equip for doom penalty and extra maximum reason.

NOTE: Consider doing the map 'sidequest' just to get the Stuffed Toy any time you launch this mystery; it gives one Curse removal on use, which is always good to have.
ROTTEN REPORT OF A RANCID RAMEN
Ending A, "LAB RESULTS (FULL)":
Finish the Sidequest (discard 2 Items, selling does not work), then proceed until the end of the mystery. When asked what you want to send to the lab, choose "VIAL + MEAT" option.

Note: If you don't have anything to discard (or don't want to discard what you have), you can choose the 'improvise weapon' option during a fight, or go buy a discount item from Shiba's Downtown Shop for 1 FNDs (hopefully, it won't give you a Blue Gem, which cannot be discarded).

Ending B, "LAB RESULTS (PARTIAL)":
Proceed until the end of the mystery, and chose "JUST THE VIAL OF RAMEN SOUP" option when given the choice.
SORROWFUL SAGA OF MOONLIGHT SAILORS
Endings A and B are available only in Timeline A. Ending C is available only in Timeline B.

Ending A, "FISHING SEASON'S END":
Finish the Sidequest (discard 2 Items, selling does not work), and finish the mystery.

Note: If you don't have anything to discard (or don't want to discard what you have), you can choose the 'improvise weapon' option during a fight, or go buy a discount item from Shiba's Downtown Shop for 1 FNDs and hope that it won't give you a Blue Gem, which cannot be discarded.

Ending B, "REAL CATCH":
Finish the mystery without completing the Sidequest.
Reaching this Ending disables 'Old Fishermen' event in the Seaside.

Ending C, "BURNING COAST":
Finish the mystery; you will meet the SEEPING APOSTLE, the ooze hivemind that took on humanoid shape.
If you've completed the Sidequest before, you've received a Torch; you can now throw it at SEEPING APOSTLE.
If you haven't completed the Sidequest or got rid of the Torch, you will have to fight SEEPING APOSTLE and win.
No matter which path you take above, you will receive Ending C.
SPINE-CHILLING STORY OF SCHOOL SCISSORS
Note: If you've got 'TINY KEY' from Alarming Account of Abnormal Arms, you can open the right-most locker to get 2-4 bullets and SPORTS RIFLE, an excellent weapon against this Mystery's boss.

There are 2 Endings specific for each Timeline: 'World of Horror' (the default one) allows you to reach Endings A and B; 'Occult Capital of Japan/Halloween 2020' allows you to reach Endings C and D.

Ending A, "SAVED FRIEND":
Access your Storage to gain Friend's Diary. When you get to the part where you can draw the sigil, draw it as shown in the Diary. Proceed until the end of the Mystery, and defeat Scissors Woman.

Ending B, "LEGEND CONTINUES":
Proceed until the end of the Mystery, without drawing the correct sigil on the blackboard. Then, defeat Scissors Woman glitched version. You will receive her scissors as an usable Weapon.

Note: There's actually 3rd version of this Mystery's boss, called 'SCISSORS WOMAN (BURNED)', which is accessible if you've finished Mermaids Mystery during this playthrough with Ending C, burning down the school in process (it also turns the Wooden Bat, hidden in one of the lockers, into a Torch).
As of 0.9.14, burning down the school locks you into Ending B, no matter if you draw the correct Sigil or not.

Ending C, "SLICED MOUTH"::
Die to Scissor Woman during the fight against her (it shows the special death screen, too).

Ending D, "AMBULANCE RIDE":
This ending involves drawing a Sigil and performing a ghost-banishing (clap-bow) ritual. Each correct step gives you +5 EXP; each wrong step lowers your Stamina and Reason by 2 (first 2 steps) or 1 (remaining 3 steps). No matter the outcome, you're locked into this Ending in Timeline B.
TRAGIC TALE OF THE THAUMATURGY TEACHER
Ending A, "SAVED BY THE BELL":

Complete the Sidequest, then reach the end and defeat Shiokawa School.

Ending B, "DIABOLICAL DETENTION":

Do not complete the Sidequest, then reach the end and defeat Shiokawa School.
VICIOUS VERSES OF A VIOLENT VIGIL
General Guide to Endings A&B:
Explore the Mansion until 10pm, and talk with any of the guests to get 'Vigil Pamphlet'. Make sure you have enough inventory space, as you cannot access Storage during this Mystery!
At 10pm, go to the Bedroom and perform the bow-clap sequence as it is written in the Pamphlet. While you're there, copy the 'tattoo' onto pamphlet by using the button in lower left.
At 11pm, try to get some food/light the fireplace. You do not actually need to pass the checks to succeed.
At 2am, do what the pamphlet asks you to do, either 'burn the envelope' (-1 Reason) or 'feed the plant' (-1 Stamina).
After 3am, you shall be transported to some eldritch location.

For Ending A, "NEW DAWN":
Choose 'Carve the Strange Symbol' option. Enter the fight against Horrible Old Man and kill him. DO NOT SACRIFICE ANY GUESTS.

For Ending B, "SOAKED IN BLOOD":
Like above, 'Carve the Strange Symbol' option to get into the fight with Horrible Old Man. During the fight, pick the special option, 'Sacrifice a Guest', ONE TIME. Then kill Horrible Old Man.

Guide for Ending C, "DEATH, CHEATED":
Proceed with the mystery without following the pamphlets' instruction. A good indicator that you're on the road to this Ending is that instead of rescuing the guests, you instead fight their 'mutated' versions between 1am to 4am.
Once you get transported to the eldritch location, kill the remaining guest (it will be the only option available to you, anyway) and then choose 'conclude the ritual' option.

Note: If you follow the route to Ending A, and then sacrifice 2 guests instead of carving the symbol, you will bypass all 3 fights possible in this Mystery (2 mutated guests + Horrible Old Man), saving you lots of stamina/reason/doom you could otherwise lose during these fights.
WORRYING WRITE-UP OF A WORDLESS WARD
NOTE: This Mystery is locked behind 'Extended Pack D', which you acquire by winning the game 4 times.

Ending A, Horror Ward: Progress until end of the mystery, and defeat the doppelganger-slash-friend.

Ending B, Successful Surgery: Progress until end of the mystery, and when you get into the fight with your 'friend' choose the special Run option on the side.

NOTE: CURIOUS PACKAGE affects your friend's damage type: if you deliver it to them, they will do -STAMINA damage; if you DON'T deliver it (by moving it to storage), your friend will do -ALL damage in combat instead.

Maybe this has changed from the previous version, but the Chainsaw says it's a perception based weapon. You say it's strength based in your Perilous Parable of the Peculiar Painting section note.

MACABRE MEMOIR OF MORBID MERMAIDS ending E does NOT require you to do the sidequest
