Fix Audio

Okay, lets start with the harder stuff first.
To fix the low audio we need to do some file editing.

1. Open your file browser and go to:
   C:\Users\*User*\Documents\Need For Speed\settings\PROFILEOPTIONS_profile
   
2. Open PROFILEOPTIONS_profile using notepad or notepad++
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Look for the following options:
   GstAudio.MusicVolume 1.000000
   GstAudio.SoundEffectVolume 1.000000
   GstAudio.SpeechVolume 1.000000
   
4. Replace them with:
   GstAudio.MusicVolume 4.000000
   GstAudio.SoundEffectVolume 4.000000
   GstAudio.SpeechVolume 4.000000
   
5. Save and close PROFILEOPTIONS_profile
   
6. Now go in-game;
   Make sure StereoMixdown is off and you should be good to go.

Note: This is the sound mixing I like. Fell free to play with these values.

Fixing Controls

Okay, so this isn't hard, but it's a little tedious.

1. In-game; go to Settings > Controls > Wheel Controls
   
2. Select "Customise" (Not sure why they used the British spelling...)
   
3. Now unbind everything you can.
   This is easily done by making your way down the list and binding everything to the same key.
   I left the last key "open map" bound to the same button as the default Xbox controls for redundancy and it seems to work as intended.
   
4. Restart your game for good measure and you should be set.

Note: I think there is a way to do this from the PROFILEOPTIONS_profile file, but haven't had a chance to tinker with it.
If anyone has a way to do this, please message me and I will update this guide.

for yall below talking about music too quiet i literally have the music volume at max and the other sounds turned way down cuz by default the cars overpower it way too much

Also a tip for those who have bugged controls i.e(X button both presses phone and ebrake), I fixed mine by unmapping all other controls on other devices and disabling steam gamepad controller support for this game specifically only, worked perfectly.

Having the same issue as Animemaster51, I'm beginning to believe that this may be a deadly result from rushing a console lenient(?) game onto steam because of the EA Play agreement and/or popular demand. Car sounds, cutscenes, GUI, and character conversations in game will work swimmingly but the music may unfortunately be a lost cause in this version unless someone will confirm that this is indeed a me problem and that I'm missing something here.
