Introduction
Hello gamers! Here, I'll show y'all how to play The Demogorgon. The Demogorgon is the 17th Killer to Dead by Daylight. Read on to learn what you need to start playing The Demogorgon.
Lore
"A blooming mouth full of needle-like teeth for a face, large, curved, razor-sharp claws, and powerful legs to pounce on victims, make The Demogorgon a frightening monster to face in any dimension. It is a nightmare of unrestrained, feral rage as it hunts down its prey and rips it to pieces, devouring every last morsel of flesh and gore, leaving nothing for scavengers. The creature is untouched by any sense of compassion or restraint. Looming over its victim, it shows no doubt or mercy, just the pure instinct of its insatiable blood lust as it delivers the deathblow. A perfect hunter, The Demogorgon is a macabre testament to the horrors lurking in the Upside Down and why it was choice pickings for The Entity". Credit to the Dead by Daylight Backstory
Statistics
The Demogorgon moves at 115 % Speed (4.6 m/s) And is considered a tall Killer. His Heartbeat (Terror Radius) is a standard 32 meter distance. According to Dead by Daylight, The Demogorgon is an intermediate Killer based off of how easy it is to get an understanding with him with his perks

The Demogorgon's Power
The Demogorgon's power

The Demogorgon's power can be confusing to new players so here's a breakdown of his power and what it does

Base Demogorgon

Base Demogorgon is just a standard Killer. Think of him like The Wraith, or The Trapper, or Evil Within Tier 2 The Shape.

Of The Abyss

Of The Abyss is the name of The Demogorgon's power. Hold the m2 button to ready your power. It takes a minimum of 0.65 seconds to ready and 1 second to fully charge. Here, you can do 2 things. When your power is ready, (see image) you can press M1 to use your "Shred" ability. Using your Shred will move The Demogorgon about 14 meters, or, a bit bigger then Killer Shack. You will move at 460% movement speed, or 4 times faster then a normal killer, or 2 times faster then The Hilbilly's chainsaw, and take away 1 health state from a Survivor. Landing a hit on a Survivor does not count as a basic m1 attack, and will not modify or be modified by any basic attack perks examples being Save The Best For Last (more on that later) and Unrelenting. Hitting a Survivor gives you your normal cool down, but very very limited sensitivity, so keep that in mind. Hitting a wall or object gives a lengthy cool down of 3.5 seconds, so watch where you're aiming, and hitting a Pallet with your Shred will destroy the Pallet in 2 seconds, while braking a Pallet normally takes 2.6 seconds, just remember it takes 0.65 seconds to ready your power, so use the big lunge The Demogorgon gives to get to the pallet quicker in order to save time. Keep in mind, that braking a pallet with your Shred, does make it a lot harder for Survivors to use their Flashlights to get a Flashlight Stun.
The other thing you can do while holding M2 is to locate Survivors.
Holding M2 will give you Killer Instincts, (seen in gif) to any survivor in a 4 meter radius or a Portal, (more on that later) (can be modified by addons) this can be really helpful around Generators, more on that later.

Portals

Traverse the Upside Down back and forth any 6 portals you can place around the map. Go ahead and place a portal where you find fit. Ideal around hooked survivors, Generators, and above Basement. once you place a Portal, it is considered Inactive, and is not seen by Survivors, nor does it give Killer Instinct if a Survivor is in proximity. Teleport to an inactive portal and both the portal you teleport to and the portal you teleport from will become Active being seen and removable by survivors, teleporting to a Portal will give you the Undetectable Status Effect, removing your heartbeat for a short duration. And if a Survivor becomes within 4 meters distance of an active Portal, They give Killer Instinct when activating your ability, and they will gain the Undetectable status effect, being unable to hear your Heart Beat, (Terror Radius) Use this to sneak up on survivors on a portal.
Useful Addons
Let's face it, not one Killer has All their addons helpful, and some are better then the others, so here are the ones that are really or kinda helpful to use on The Demogorgon.

Rat Liver

Rat Liver is one of the best addons for The Demogorgon by far. Using this addon will make you move faster when holding your ability. Your movement speed while holding Of The Abyss is 92%. Survivors move at 100%. Therefore when you hold your power, you go slower then the Survivor you're chasing, therefore losing distance. With Rat Liver, you move at 101% movement speed. That makes you move just about faster then the survivor, but just because of the 1% faster speed doesn't mean you start looping or chasing while holding Of The Abyss. This helps you fake Shreds, (more on that later) and hit shots like this,

a lot better.

Rat Tail

What Rat Tail does, may seem small by numbers, but believe me it makes the difference. Rat Tail cuts the time it takes to set a Portal in half. Base time to set a Portal is 1.0 seconds. But with Rat Tail, it lowers it to 0.5 seconds, saving you a lot of time setting portals.

Deer Lungs & Rotten Green Tripe

What these addons do is they make it so traversing the Upside Down much quicker. With these addons you will get to your destination much faster, making Rat Liver and Deer Lungs a very good combo. Base Portal travel time takes 1.5 - 3 seconds depending on the distance of the 2 Portals. Deer Lungs take away 0.40 seconds and Rotten Green Tripe takes away 0.25 seconds. Like the previous addons, these numbers seem way to small to make a diference, but trust me (or try them yourself) they really help throughout the Trial.

Rotton Pumpkin & Mew's Guts

These addons don't change base times to do actions or speeds, but change the amount of Portals you can use throughout the Trial. You start the Trial with 6 Portals by default. Both Rotton Pumpkin and Mew's Guts add 1 portal each to your counter. You can use both addons to have a total of 8 Portals. The difference with Rotton Pumpkin and Mew's Guts is that Mew's Guts reduce the amount of time penalty you get for missing a Shred. (this does not modify the penalty if you hit a wall of object.) Base recovery is 2.25 seconds, but Mew's Guts removes 0.25 seconds, making it 2 seconds to recover. (Black Heart gives the same effect as Mew's Guts without the extra Portal, same time reduction).

Other Addons

Although I am not adding all the addons to this list, that does not mean I am saying they are bad addons. Sure there are bad addons, but there are also some good ones that I did not include, so look around at The Demogorgon's addons and see what fits you!
The Demogorgen's Teachable perks
The Demogorgon's teachable perks are Surge, Mindbreaker, and Cruel Limits.

Surge

Surge makes it so if you send a Survivor to the Dying State with a basic m1 attack, any Generator in a 32 meter radius (to give a comparison, a basic killer terror radius) will explode, stopping any and all survivors working on it and regress it by 8%, and continues as if you kicked it (regresses 1% every 4 seconds). While this perk is not too good for The Demogorgon, since his Shred attack does not count as a basic m1 attack, therefore not activating the perk, it is good for Killers that rely on or can only use basic attacks like The Wraith and The Deathslinger

Cruel Limits

While this perk has it very great moments, it is not ideal to run it on any killer. What this perk does is after a generator is complete, it blocks all windows in a 24 meter radius of that completed Generator for a limited amount of time. The reason this perk is not ideal to run, is that most of the time a Generator is completed, you are not near to get the little value this perk gives. The only time this perk will be of use is if you are already on your way to a Generator and as you're walking, (or teleporting) The Survivors pop it, so they start a chase without being able to vault. This most likely will catch the Survivor off guard, (think about using bloodwarden how no one expects it) and they might try to vault anyways to no avail, giving you your free hit. The only Killers that this perk may be good on is instant down Killers like The Hilbilly and The Cannible. The reason for this is if the survivor tries to go for a window that is blocked, they won't just take a hit, rather get sent directly to the Dying State.

Mindbreaker

While this perk doesn't seem good on paper, it is very helpful when you initiate a chase with a Survivor on a Generator. What this perk does is that when a Survivor is working on a generator that is less than 50%, they get the Exhausted status effect. This effect persists for 1/2/3 seconds when they leave. What everyone thinks is that 3 seconds is nothing, therefore giving no use, but what most people forget, is that you can't recover from exhaustion while running. So if you start a chase with a Survivor while they are working on a gen less then 50%, they cannot use Sprint Burst right away, They can't use Balanced Landing, Dead Hard, Lithe, or Head On until they stop running for 3 seconds, and not too often a Survivor will stop running in a chase. You can most likely catch up to them before they find a way to stop running to recover from the Exhaustion Status effect. This perk is not good for any specific Killer, but for all of them, for no power can enhance the benefits it gives
Good perks for The Demogorgen
As with all Killers, The Demogorgon has some perks that are really good for him, and helps his play style.
My Build ^^^

Save The Best For Last

Save The Best For Last, (STBFL) (The Shape's Teachable perk) is one of the best perks for The Demogorgen. Like The Pig, You can use The Demogorgen's Shred to hit your obsession and you will not lose any tokens. For any other Survivor, use your normal basic attack to secure a token. Keep in mind, that although you can not lose tokens with Shred, you can not gain tokens with your Shred attack. However, if it is possible to end the chase with a simple Shred, but a M1 wouldn't do, do it anyways, it's worth the loss of one stack, and the other way around, if The Survivor (your obsession)turns a tight corner into a window or pallet and a Shred wont do, but an M1 would, then just lose the 2 stacks for a hit or down, it's worth loosing some stacks for an extra 45 seconds of the chase. 45 seconds is just about enough to complete a Generator with 2 people, so you can save time from just a few stacks if you gotta.

STBFL in action

Hex: Devour Hope

Hex: Devour Hope, (The Hag's teachable perk) is really good for The Demogorgon because of his ability to place portals. Hook a Survivor and use your portal to instantly go far enough away to gain a stack on Hex: Devour Hope. Remember, using your Shred attack is not a M1 attack and will not down anyone in one shot if they are exposed. This applies to other perks that give The Survivors the Exposed status effect. This includes but is not limited to; Hex: No One Escapes Death, Make Your Choice, Rancor, and Hex: Haunted Ground. If you really want to, once The Survivor has been saved, you can teleport back and go after (ideally) the Survivor that saved. You can go after The Survivor that was saved, but that is not recommended for it ruins the fun for The Survivors[/i], you might not get good Emblems, and you could get punished by perks like Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time. If you want to go after The Survivor that saved, then Make Your Choice is a good choice (see what I did there?).

Make You Choice

Make Your Choice, (The Pig's teachable perk) Is really helpful for The Demogorgon due to the same reason of Hex: Devour Hope. Hook a Survivor and go far enough for Make Your Choice to activate. Once a survivor saves, they will be exposed, and you can teleport to them if you placed a portal, and start a chase while the savior is exposed. Just remember that your Shred attack does not instantly down a Survivor when they are suffering from the exposed status effect.

Pop Goes The Weasle

Pop Goes The Weasle (The Clown's teachable perk) is a generally great perk for all Killers for it gives a lot of time by regressing 25% of a gen on kick after you hook a Survivor. This perk is really good for The Nightmare and The Demogorgon due to thier ability to, you guessed it, teleport to Generators. doing that saves the time to walk to the gens, and you can chase anyone off the gen if they were working on it.

General perks

There are a lot of perks that are really good for The Demogorgon but when I looked deeper, I realized that these are just perks that are generally good. So im gonna quickly list the few I think are good general perks
Perk Combos
The Demogorgon has some really fun perk combos to use. Some are helpful, some are nasty.

Territorial Imperative & Make Your Choice

One of the most fun perk combo for The Demogorgon to use. This combo puts your Portals to the limit. Hook a Survivor in the Basement and place an Inactive Portal at the top of the Basement stairs. Go far enough for Make Your Choice to be active, and wait for the Savior. You will see when the savior enters the Basement with Territorial Imperative. Once they do, give enough time so that the moment they save, becoming Exposed, you teleport out of the Portal. They will have nowhere to go and if you're feeling extra, after downing the Savior, go for the unhooked Survivor, giving you 2 people in the Basement. This combo goes well with Save The Best For Last so you can quickly give your attention to the unhooked Survivor after downing the Savior

Hex: Ruin and Surveillance

Hex: Ruin and Surveillance are a good Perk combo for any Killer, but very helpful for The Demogorgon due to his good map pressure and ability to quickly teleport to chase Survivors off gens. What this combo does is that as long as the totem tied to Hex: Ruin is active, all Generators not being worked on by Survivors will regress by 100/150/200% speed. What Surveillance does is that when a Generator is regressing, it will be highlighted in white. If I survivor works on it, it will be highlighted yellow for a limited time. The reason these Perks go together well is that Hex: Ruin will automatically regress al Generators, meaning that all Generators that were worked on and is regressing will always be white, and when a Survivor goes back on it, you will always know. No need to kick Generators.

Tinkerer and Cruel Limits

The reason this is a good combo, is because Tinkerer helps what limits Cruel Limits. The fact that you will know when the Generator will pop will let you know when to get near so you get your value from Cruel Limits. Also, you become undetectable, giving a strat of using a Portal near the gen, but waiting for when your Undetectable would be done, but it is not because of Tinkerer.
Tricks and strats
As with all killers, The Demogorgon has many tricks home to him only.

Shred Tech

Moon walk approaching one side of the pallet, should be if the Survivor can't see you, then quickly flick to face the Survivor and Shred before they can even throw down the Pallet. Even if they do throw down the Pallet, you will brake it in just 2 seconds.

Pressure
Any killer that can traverse the map quickly can have lots of pressure. That's why killers like The Nightmare and The Hilbilly are very good killers for they can move throughout the map. The Demogorgon has his ability, Of The Abyss to create Portals to traverse The Upside Down from one portal to another. Using The Demogorgon's Portals, if there are about 1-3 gens left, it's ideal to put an active Portal right on top of a Generator, it'll look something like this.

Since the range of detection on The Demogorgon's detection on his power is 4 meters, that's enough to tell if any Survivor is on the Generator or not. Use this information if too many Generators pop way to early. If you wanna apply as much pressure, (this is mainly easy if they 3 gen themselves) Do this, and don't stick to chases that take too long or take you too far. Pop Goes (The Clown's teachable perk) is really helpful for this because if you chase a Survivor and can hook them before anyone gets around 25% of the gen done, you can remove all the progress they made on 1 gen, just be sure they don't spread out on all the gens.

High Elevations

Go somewhere high, like in a building or on the little mountain, and use your Shred attack. You will move exponentially faster and farther with the trade off of not being able to hit a survivor in that Shred. Look at the clip and see what I mean.

Short Shreds

As I said before, it takes a minimum of 0.65 seconds to ready your Shred when activating your power, and 1 second to fully charge. Obviously using your Shred when it is not fully charged will not send you as far as you could if it was fully charged, but sometimes it is necessary to use your Shred before it is fully charged. You might need to do this if you can use your Shred to land a hit, but only for a very short time before they turn a corner or vault a window, but you cant fully charge it. Using Short Shreds needs a lot of practice, because you need to know exactly how far you'll go, and know if you can hit the shot, because missing gives you a lengthy cool down of 2.25 seconds. In the next clip you will see me fail a Short Shred, because I clicked way too fast and though maybe I could hit it, then in the next you see me land a Short Shred, ending the chase very shortly.

2 Portal Tech
Using this strat is high risk high reward. You do it right, you get easy chases, you fail, you lose 2 out of 6 of your precious Portals. So basically you set a Portal to your desired location, but set another Portal very close. If you suspect a survivor is going to go right where you teleported from, then teleport the the 2nd very close Portal, and quickly come back, as seen in this clip

If there was someone who went right on that Generator the moment I left, thinking I was gone, I could get the jump on them with the Undetectable Status Effect you get when teleporting. If you think a Survivor is not going to go right back to where you put the first portal, like if you put it on a Generator, then activate that portal only and leave, once they remove that portal and continue with the Generator, they will think they are safe, but they are wrong. teleport to the second Portal and get them off guard. They'll never know what hit 'em. The reason this is a big risk, is that if they complete the Generator the 2 Portals are based around, those Portals will loose all value unless they are really close to another objective, so plan accordingly, and know what you're doing.

Forcing Down a Pallet

When a Survivor reaches a Pallet, ready up your power, even if you don't think you can hit them. Since you give a visual cue when readying up your power, (your mouth opens) The Survivor might panic, or try to dodge the hit, (if you even could have landed the hit,) by dropping the pallet. In the clip, the Nancy could have kept running around the truck and possibly could have gotten away with some looping, however, the visual cue of me readying up my power scared the Nancy, making her drop the pallet. Since your power will already be set, you can swiftly brake the pallet with your Shred in 2.00 seconds to continue the chase.

Baiting a Shred

A property that The Demogorgon shares with The Huntress and The Deathslinger is the ability the fake and confuse The Survivor that you are going to use your power, causing them to try to dodge it, but in the process they out position themselves and make them easy pickings for basic attacks, Since these 3 Killers can very very quickly cancel their power, leading in to a basic m1 attack. As seen in this clip above, the Nancy was making her way to The Tractor. I caught on to that and readied my power in the general direction she was going. The Nancy saw the visual cue that I readied my power, and tried to trick my by going backwards hoping I initiate my Shred attack on the old path she was going. I knew she would do this, therefore once she went backwards, I canceled my ability, and went for the easy basic attack, because in the Nancy's attempt to outplay me, she out positioned herself. If the Nancy would have kept running, I would just initiate my Shred on the path she was going to down her there.

Fake picking up
If you suspect a survivor is going to go for the flashlight save or pallet save, you can fake place a portal and they might go and try to save to no avail.

Fun Facts
As if all Killers, The Demogorgon has many facts about him that, may not be known by everyone. Here, have a look.
  • The Demogorgon has some pretty loud footsteps. To be exact, Survivors can here The Demogorgon's footsteps from 16 meters away, possibly giving away any sneak attacks, so make sneak attacks fast before they realize what's going on.

  • One of The Demogorgon's teachable perks, Cruel Limits, was actually called Cruel Confinement in development.

  • The Demogorgon's power, Of The Abyss, is a direct reference to Dungeons and Dragons, one of the adventures called Out Of The Abyss, where a Demogorgon enemy is shown

  • The Demogorgon is the first Dead by Daylight Killer to not originate as a human

  • The Demogorgon is one of very few Killers that have a unique Hatch closing animation, including The Spirit.
Gameplay
Here is one of my games. Here I use a lot of the tricks I mentioned in this guide and I end up getting a 32k game. Enjoy!

Mori
And now for the best part, The Demogorgon's Mori. I think The Demogorgon has one of the best Moris, right behind The Oni and The Cannible, but that's just my opinion

.
Conclusion
Conclusion

Overall, I think The Demogorgon is a very great killer, one of the top tiers, his teachable perks are not the greatest but not the worst and can give some benefits, and The Demogorgon has a lot of tricks and strats going for him. I had lots of fun making this guide, and I really hope this helps a lot of people understand the basics of The Demogorgon, or at least motivated you to play him, because I think he's a great killer that too few people play him.

It's a good guide, but it will likely be disqualified as you are violating the rule that one cannot use other people's content, and you are using the Wiki's GIF images of Perks (which you aren't allowed to use in the first place without asking for permission, which is clearly stated in the file description on the Wiki).

I suggest replacing the GIFs with the pure white icons that can be found in the game folder.
