Terraria 1.4 - Blood Moon Fishing Guide - Easy early Pre-Hardmode viable!

Hello Fellow Terrarians,

Here's another guide for you guys!

This time we are going to fish during Blood Moon to obtain all the new cool items that drop from rare mobs that can spawn only while fishing during this event. These mobs (Zombie Merman and Wandering Eyefish) are very tough and deal a lot of damage. On top of that, the drop rates of the new items are pretty low, making it very difficult to get them early game.

If you would like to get this items: Blood Rain Bow, Vampire Frog Staff, Chum Caster, Chum Buckets, here's a quick and easy way to do so during a single blood moon event:

In terms of gear, all you need is a fishing rod, bait, and weapon that can attack through 1 block wide openings. Let's list some of these weapons:

Any Yo-Yo
Storm Spear
Paintball Gun
Minishark
Grey Zapinator
Space Gun
Demon Scythe (Late Pre-Hardmode)

The idea is to build a shelter which would prevent these mobs from reaching you, while you can safely fish them up all night. It is also important to block all possible escape routes so that these monsters don't flee in the morning. Essentially, you want them to be trapped inside your fishing pond so that you can safely finish them off from a distance.

You can get a new bow (Blood Rain Bow), a summoning weapon (Vampire Frog Staff), a fishing rod (Chum Caster) which has higher chance of catching during Blood Moons, and chum buckets, which add up to 20% fishing power.

Thank you! BTW, you could use any bow paired with jester arrows (they pierce) to kill the mobs faster. I've just tried and it works really well. Cheers!
