We're Gonna Live Forever

This guide goes over the uses of, how to unlock, and what exactly the perk 'We're Gonna Live Forever' is. Aimed towards beginners.

Edit: This guide is outdated. We're Gonna Live Forever now also boosts healing speed for dying teammates by 100%.

Edit 2: This guide is doubly outdated with the major perk changes. Now there is no bonus bloodpoints attached to the perk. I don't care enough to update this right now, maybe later.

What is 'We're Gonna Live Forever?'
We're Gonna Live Forever is a survivor perk. It was created to go along with Chapter V: A Lullaby for the Dark. Within this chapter was The Huntress, and David King. David came with three teachable perks, just like all other survivors: We're Gonna Live Forever, Dead Hard, and No Mither.

Two out of three of these perks are very good. The one we're focusing on today is the perk We're Gonna Live Forever.

Your few friends deserve the best protection.

Each time you perform a Safe Hook Rescue or take a Protection Hit for a Survivor, gain a stack-able 25 % Bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %.

The Bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded post-Trial.

"Come on then, let's 'ave it! I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ pal." — David King

As that description explained, this perk is great for farming bloodpoints. If you get the perk to level three, you could potentially get double bloodpoints every single match. This is incredible if you are only starting out and want to unlock many teachables.
How To Unlock 'We're Gonna Live Forever'
We're Gonna Live Forever is a teachable perk from the survivor David King. To unlock this perk you will need to level David King up to level 30. From there if you use 5000 bloodpoints to unlock the perk, it will become available in other surviors' blood webs.

The only other way to unlock this perk for other survivors is to buy it from the shrine of secrets for 2000 iridescent shards. The shrine of secrets resets with new perks every week on Wednesdays.

I believe it is worth it to level up David King to 35 for We're Gonna Live Forever and Dead Hard. It is two good additions to your kit, and the double bloodpoints will help you get on your feet when starting out the game.

Dead Hard is a nice exhaustion perk where you can dash forwards when injured. It gives you a nice push to the next pallet or window. This can be a huge help when you aren't too familiar with the basics of the game yet. I cannot recommend it enough, considering that it basically comes with WGLF.

How to Use the Perk
We're Gonna Live Forever gains a token every time you either safely unhook, or take a hit for another survivor.

In order to safely unhook a survivor, you need to be the one to rescue them from the hook, and then make sure they don't go down for the next ten seconds. if they do, you will not get the safe unhook bonus, therefore you will not get a token.

To achieve this, try and wait until the killer is gone, or take a hit for the survivor for yet another token. However, make sure not to lose the match trying to get tokens. You will get more bloodpoints if you last longer in the match, and will get more chances to get tokens.

Speaking of taking hits for survivors... In order to get a token for taking a hit you just need to do what is sounds like. Get close behind the survivor who you want to help and get hit by the killer in their stead. One other way to get a protection hit is when the killer is carrying a survivor. If you run in and get hit while this is happening, you will gain a token towards your maximum of four.
Tips for How to Use the Perk Better
A lot of the time you can combine perks together for an even better result. In WGLF's case, the perk Borrowed Time is perfect. If you don't know, Borrowed Time is a perk from William "Bill" Overbeck which allows you to give the endurance status effect to survivors you unhook. This status effect essentially guarantees a token when unhooking a survivor. Given that Bill also has the perk unbreakable, I also advise unlocking all of his unlockables.

This goes both ways though. If you get unhooked from someone who has borrowed time, you can jump in front of the killer and take a hit for whoever unhooked you. This will give you a token, and time for the other survivor to get away. However, this may get the killer to go after you and try to immediately hook you again. to avoid this you could you yet another synergy perk...

Decisive Strike is a teachable perk from Laurie Strode. It activates whenever you get unhooked. For the next 60 seconds the perk is active. If the killer picks you up before the perk expires you will get a skill check. If you succeed the killer will drop you and be stunned. This eliminates tunnelling and makes it so you can do borrowed time plays like in the paragraph above. While this perk is nowhere near as good as borrowed time when paired with WGLF, it is still great on its own, and does help in that one situation I listed.
Conclusion
We're Gonna Live Forever is one of the, if not the best perk in the game. It can consistently double your bloodpoints, vastly increasing the speed at which you level your many characters. I believe it is crucial to unlock this perk as soon as you feel somewhat comfortable with the game. It will help immensely in the grind.

Pairing it with borrowed time only makes it easier to get tokens. I almost can't play with both of these perks on at all times. It's as if they were made for each other.

I hope I have helped some newer players to decide their next character to level, and perhaps even given a new perspective on how to use the perk for those who have it.

I think you could also technically use Mettle Of Man, a teachable perk from Ash Williams.

Mettle Of Man rewards you for taking protection hits, and also will give tokens for WGLF.
