Sanitized Earth Achievement
By trigger_segfault
Currently, getting the Sanitized Earth achievement can be problematic due to issues with items getting stuck and falling through the floor. This guide explains a simple work-around for these issues so that every unobtainable item can be properly cleared.

Requirements
In order to get this achievement, every single item that's able to picked up has to be disposed of in the fireplace, and every single mess has to be cleaned up. use your sniffer on both modes to make sure that you've destroyed everything. Note that buckets will count as a mess and thus they may interfere with your sniffing for actual messes, but remember to burn the buckets before you're done.
Issues
Currently, getting the Sanitized Earth achievement can be problematic due to issues with items getting stuck and falling through the floor. As stated by one of the creators on the RuneStorm forums here[www.runestorm.com], you are able to miss a maximum of three items to still be eligible for the achievement. However this is usually not enough when dealing with items that are under the floor. You're more than likely going to end up with 4 or more items under the floor thus making it physically impossible to complete the achievement.

The left shows an unreachable candle behind the bookshelf while the right shows the items that have fallen under the floor.
Work-Around
In order to clear unreachable items, you'll need to use the game's command console. You can open and close it by pressing the tab or tilde key (~). Fortunately using cheats will not prevent you from getting any achievements like many other games do. With the recent update you should be able to get the achievements while on a server. So during co-op you'll need to first type in enablecheats to allow other cheats to work since they are disabled by default on servers. Each player will have to do this individually if they want to use cheats.

Items Inside the Workshop
Use the command ghost to enable you to move freely through walls and fly. To grab the unreachable items inside the workshop. You'll still need to pull them out in a way they can physically fit, but this isn't too much of an issue.

Items Under the Workshop
For the the items under the floor you'll need to do something slightly different to destroy them. If you fly under the floor you should easily be able to see the items that have fallen under since they have a strong glow against the black background. While facing an item horizontally, take your mop and repeatedly push it in a single direction. Once the item is far enough away from the workshop it should disappear since the game does have some precautions in place to prevent items from becoming unreachable. For precautionary measures, check the sniffer to see if it picks up any items that it couldn't while above the floor. Make sure you check twice under the stable since items under there are harder to notice.

Messes Under the Workshop
Messes can also be made under the workshop. Please note however that these messes can only be created from messy items that have fallen under such as gore chunks, ornaments, lights, and explosives. Messes can also be created when using a bloody mop while under the workshop so be careful about that. Since messes can't visually be spotted in the blackness, you'll have to use your sniffer to pick up any stragglers. If you're having trouble cleaning up one of these messes then try to hit it at various angles, the stable stairs are notorious for this. Another tip is to use the command show bounds. This will create yellow outlined cirlces around everything in the game, including messes. So any yellow circles that look out of place under the floor are probably messes. Type show bounds again in the console to disable the bounds. And finally, if all else fails, use the killnearmess command. This will remove the closest mess (or eligible item) to the player. This only affects one thing at a time so you'll probably need to use it multiple times.

Clocking Off
When you're done, fly back up above the floor and hover a little bit above your standing height, this way you won't get stuck in the floor. To disable ghost mode, enter walk in the command console. And with that you should easily be able complete the Sanitized Earth achievement without complications from item physics. Remember, if the clock off screen doesn't show the achievement then you can always go back and keep trying without having to start over.
Useful Commands
Use the tab or tilda (~) key to open and close the command console. Commands are not case sensitive.

enablecheats
Enables the use of cheats for the individual player. This should only be needed in co-op since cheats are disabled by default on servers.
ghost
Allows you to fly and walk through walls. Use this to grab unreachable items and deal with items under the floor.
walk
Disables the ghost command. You should use this slightly above the floor so that you don't get stuck in it. (But if you do then just ghost again to get out.)
show bounds
Enableds or disables the display of yellow circles and blue cube outlines around every object in the game. This may be useful for spotting items and messes under the workshop.
killnearmess
Clears the nearest mess from the player. If you're having trouble cleaning any messes under the floor then this should easily get rid of them one at a time. It seems that this cheat also considers certain items as messes too.
Final Notes
It seems to be that there may be more issues than under-the-floor cleaning can fix. So at the moment you may be able to complete the achievement with this guide, but there are some issues that I can't figure out even after testing many of the game's console commands. I'm sorry to everyone that still wasn't able to complete the achievement after trying this. :(

Recent Update
On 1/17/2014, Santa's Rampage updated to v1.021 which may have fixed some of the issues with this achievement. I'll try to get some testing in in the next week to see if any of these problems still persist.

The easiest way to deal with ceiling ornaments is to use TNT. A single blast will clear almost the entire main room. If you have run out of TNT, you can hit the Rook painting in Santa's office between the desk and shotgun with your mop a few times and it will either drop a molotov or a TNT bundle. Be aware that it may drop from a different painting.

How the hell do I reach the ornaments at the ceiling???

If I recall correctly, the devs said that stuff would be ignored by the counter if it's determined to be in the trunk. I'm not sure how glitchy it is in determining if it's in the trunk or not so your best bet is to be safe.

However, since saving is now a possibility there shouldn't be any worry.
