HIGH RESOLUTION GUIDE/WIDESCREEN GUIDE (WITHOUT SPINNING)

How to get higher resolutions in delta force 1 (maybe 2 but not tested) without the spinning problem!!!!

HELLO! This guide will show you how to run Delta force 1 (Maybe Delta Force 2, try at own risk I have not tested it.) At higher than the standard 1024x768 resolutions! WITHOUT THE SPINNING GLITCH/ISSUE

0.) MY INGAME SETTINGS


1.) Download DGVOODOO2 and extract the contents to a folder on your desktop, name the folder whatever you want.

2.) take note of the contents. What is most important is dgVoodooCpl.exe and the contents of the MS folder, namely the x86 folder that is inside of the MS folder.


3.) copy the D3D8.DLL, D3D9.DLL, D3Dlmm.dll and DDraw.dll from the x86 folder and place them into your Delta Force folder. (DO NOT USE THE x64. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU HAVE 64BIT SYSTEM.)



4.) Open dgVoodooCpl.exe (RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, OR IT WILL NOT WORK.)


5.) Click add in the top right.



6.) navigate to your delta force install folder and click select folder.



7.) click the drop down menu to the left of the "Add" button and select your Delta force install directory.



8.) on the general tab, Copy the settings I have, (choose your graphics card, because obviously not everyone has the same gpu.) Follow everything else! IT IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SELECT WINDOWED, SCALING MODE IS CENTERED, CAPTURE MOUSE, CENTER APP WINDOW, KEEP WINDOW ASPECT RATIO



9.) navigate to DirectX tab and copy my settings for Videocard, Set highest available VRAM, FORCE VSYNC and set your desired resolution. (I use 1280x960 as it fits on my screen windowed fine. If I select my full resolution 1920x1080 a very small part of the window is cut off by my task bar, as it is NOT borderless windowed mode and I cant figure out how to get borderless windowed to work.


10.) When finished BE SURE TO CLICK APPLY IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT
CLICK APPLY
CLICK APPLY
CLICK APPLY!

I run windows 10. I DO NOT USE COMPATIBILITY MODE FOR DELTA FORCE, TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

All this does is stretch the pixels from 4:3 to 16:9, pointless as it's not even true widescreen.

Thanks so much!! I can confirm this way still works in 2024 just fine. I do agree with the other people commenting, instead of using windowed and centered go full screen and stretched and run 1920x1080. Worked perfect for me!

For step 8, instead of Windowed with Scaling mode set to "Centered", set to Full screen with Scaling mode set to "Stretched, keep Aspect Ratio".
Next, for step 9, you can set the resolution to 1920x1080 instead of 1280x960. With the appearance set to Full Screen in step 8, your taskbar won't get in the way anymore.

Hey! Thanks a ton for this guide!

I tried out the advice given by リドリー殿 and it's sound.

The game runs in 1920 x 1080 Fullscreen with no issues whatsoever. No spinning and certainly no taskbar ribbon to be found.

If in step 8 you choose fullscreen, you may experience spinning,
this happened to me when in game resolution (that is the resolution which is shown in the settings in menu of the game itself) was set to 640x480.
In order to fix this, set the in-game resolution to 1024x768:
- open the folder with your DeltaForce installation
- locate the file 'df.cfg'
- open it with notepad, and change values of 'game_res' and 'max_res' to 5.

Hey, sorry for my comment. I couldn't find a functioning version at first. But the voodoo dll files give me a black screen so I'll probably stick with the 1024 resolution default settings
