How to install mods in Game Dev Tycoon

Hello guys,

In this guide i will teach you how to install mods, they aren't many mods yet but in near future there will be. Also is most likely the devs will add Workshop Features!

Active the beta program

First to use some mods you need to active the beta, so to do this to follow this instructions:

• Steam library
  
• Right-click on Game Dev Tycoon
  
• Select properties
  
• Go to the 'Betas' tab
  
• And select beta-beta on this list.

You can find a good list on the Greenheart Games Forums[forum.greenheartgames.com].

The ones who say 'Released' are in excellent condition to use. Don't be afraid to use them.

Now how to install any mod

Is very simple and will take 5 minutes at top. So to do this go to Greenheart Games Forums[forum.greenheartgames.com] and choose a mod, for this example we will choose the Cheat Mod[forum.greenheartgames.com], developed by kristof1104.


After you doing the first set, activating the beta program you need to:

• Download the file from Greenheart Games Forums.
  
• Extract it
  
• Go to /steamapps/common/Game Dev Tycoon/mods
  
• Paste the CheatMod folder in the Mods folder

Once this is done you need to run Game Dev Tycoon, and press 'ESC', go to Mods, press here it says CheatMod By Kristof1104 and restart your game.





A very important note, if some for some reason the box stays red please report it to the developer.

After your restart your game you will have full access to the cheats menu.

When I try to activate the beta, the only option in the drop-down box is NONE - Opt out of all beta programs. I bought Game Dev Tycoon on Steam. Can someone help me please?
