Delta Force 2 Multiplayer Fix (Working in 2020)

This guide is aimed at taking your freshly downloaded copy of DF2 from steam and making it work on todays online servers.
Please follow the guide completely for the best results.

What you need before starting

Hello! Before you go any further please ensure your copy of the game is fresh and unmodded.
Go to the following link :

Download the following 2 Files:
DF2 No CD / Lobby Fix / VON Fix / Unfreeze / Startup.htm (2019 Fixes)
DF2 Latest Update

Updating your game

You need to apply the Update by running the df2_update_030700_xx.exe file, This will ask you to locate the game exe file in the Game directory (drive/program files/steam/steamapps/common/delta force 2) in most cases.
press update and the game will be updated.
Next step is to patch Multiplayer wich is in the next section.

Patching Multiplayer

This operation is very simple, its just a drag and drop patch you cannot go wrong.
You need a file extractor e.g WinZip or 7Z.

Unzip the DF2_fixer folder to your desktop like so:
Next have your game directory open and ready at the games root folder
Open up your freshly extrcted DF2_fixer folder and drag and hilight all the files including the HTML file like so:

Then simply copy and paste them into the games root directory like so:

Right click on DF2.exe and select properties
Go to the Compatibility tab and change the compatibility to Windows XP SP3
Click okay/apply and exit.

Then simply run the game and check your fixes have worked!
You should be able to access the Novaworld servers, Read the text in the lobby screen and most importantly play online!

Unfortunately res is caped to 768 and can be accesed only trough cfg edit file.

I keep getting a height map error when i try loading into a multiplayer server. I'm not very tech savvy. Is there a way to fix this?

Yes is does work on Windows 10
Everything needed to work correctly is within the patch you download. The patch sorts out the resolution automatically.

Also does this include higher resolutions available as part of the update or do I need that dgvoodoo thing for 1080 resolution and will that work with this multiplayer solution? Thanks..
