Long Live The Queen

No nobility. No magic. Military only. Final Destination.
By Lieutenant Dan
This guide is for those of you who have no interest in things like
Composure, Elegance, Presence, Public Speaking, Court Manners, Flattery, Decoration, Instrument, Voice, Dance, Meditation, Divination, Lore, Sense Magic, Resist Magic, and Wield Magic.
Royalty is meant to slaughter the enemy; not dance.

It completely ignores mystical skills and social skills.

Warning: I'm going to avoid telling you what skills you need to build.(with a few exceptions)

Getting ready for the ball
The key to winning the game is to build up your army to maximum capacity without losing any troops. Keep that in mind.

Anything I don't mention doesn't matter.

----------------------------------------

Week 2: Send Julianna away. You don't need her or her magic.

Week 6: Selene is going to try and convert you to magic; don't let her.

Week 8: Skill check. A man will ask you to fund a project. Accept.

Week 9: Banion will come to you and ask you to resolve a dispute with another nation.
If you are cool enough, you will get the option to prepare for battle. Regardless, you must negotiate.

Week 10: Skill check. Duchess Brin has nearly started a war and Ixion wants money. Have a high trade and accounting skill, then make a counter-offer.

Week 12: A creepy man named Talarist thinks you're easy. Decline.

Week 15: Skill check. The project you funded in week 8 has borne fruit. Create army recruitment pamphlets.

Week 16: Skip the parade, you won't pass any of its skill checks.

Week 17: Do whatever you want at the ball. Dance with someone scandalous for one of the lesbian endings. Accept the flowers on week 18.

Week 18: Skill check. You need to talk to your father while having a high intrigue and he will tell you about your spies.
What you tell the spies to investigate will greatly help on any playthrough as each option helps to avoid a different crisis.
To succeed on this playthough you will need to investigate foreign threats.

Save the game. You have completed the first half and have plenty of time to build up your skills before your future skill checks.
Preparing for a birthday party and a civil war
For the next several weeks your objective is to build up your army, build up your skills, and prevent the civil war.

----------------------------------------

Week 19: No need to adjust the budget.

Week 20: Do nothing about the border/trade conflict.

Week 23: Reject the musician.

Week 25: The foreign investigation was useful. Build warships.

Week 27: Accept the invitation.

Week 28: Many skill checks! The nobles are likely to start a revolt. Convince Briony to come over to your house. If the nobles start a civil war, use her as a hostage to end it.

You can not have a civil war, or you will lose the game.

Week 29(If Briony is with you and there is no civil war): Ask her about her parents

Week 29: You may get the option to turn some prisoners in to soldiers. Accept. It is possible to win without them, in the event the option isn't there.

Save the game and prepare to test your skills.
WAR!!!
Week 32: Skill check. Offer employment for the winners of the tournament. Don't eat the chocolate.

Week 34: Recruit soldiers and direct the fleet.

Week 35: Many skill checks! THIS IS IT!!!
This battle uses a formula to calculate victory.
For example, having a high climbing skill would make up for having less than perfect military skills.
Be careful though; the formula is not very lenient on a no magic run.

You win. Lumens are now persecuted.

Lesbian end. (If you accepted the flowers)
Week 39: Marry Banion or no one.

It actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Biggest issue for me was controlling Elodie's various moods - drugging her would be far preferable :D

This is a helpful guildline for those of us that like our Commisar outfit. If you still want to have a soft side, Adair is still husband material if you decide to have him stay with you. Just know a thing or two about animals to get to know him, then you can have your cradle and rob it too.

This guide was very helpful. I actually really liked how vague it was: it meant it still feels like a huge accomplishment to have finally won the naval battle outright (not to mention avoiding the civil war!), and also that I didn't have to wonder whether deviating here or there would wreck the playthrough. (I ended up still using social skills, though, since I wasn't able to manage Elodie's mood well enough to raise the non-social skills I'd need to avoid death in week 28.)

Thanks for this! Worked well!

I think Week 15 skill check was for Military Strategy.

This guide is a good skeleton but it would be helpful to put down which skills you would recommend. Since I wrote down what you did in the video, I seem to have encountered a snag (since it was a bit fast and made things difficult).
I thought to mention this.

I can't seem to win the battle without wield magic. All of my other related skills are high (climbing, all military stats, made all of the choices to build up the army). Any hints?

I'd love to see Rance smash his way into this setting.

Yes!! This was the first route I went for. You can't be a ruler by being elegant. :lltqsword:
