The Comprehensive guide for Pirate of Black Cove

A guide to assist in obtaining all of the achievements of Pirates of Black Cove

Intro

Looking around on the community page i noticed that there are some half done guides so i figured i make some time to make a complete one. Credits to 2 other guides i noticed which turned out be handy for a few of the achievements.

Obviously any questions/improvements are welcome and i will try to incorporate them as good as i can/when i can.

In the mean time enjoy the game, its a pretty simple, but enjoyable pirates game.

Achievements by following the campaign/missions

These achievements will pop whilst completing the main game. Basically in the order of completing.
You wont need to anything else specifically.

Achievements with little effort

So these achievements are easily obtained with little effort. there is a few more after these which are a bit of hassle as it takes a good bit of time to complete.

Lol	Just drive your boat over a joke and it will pop. Throughout completing the game i got about 100 or so in total.
Bayonets?	fit out your army slots with melee unites and it will pop while completing land based levels
Those who live by the sword, die by those who won't	Like the Bayonets achievement, just swap out the melee with ranged units and, well, go to town!
I can see my house from here!	I started the game with the human catapult and just hit that space bar and voila
There is no I in TEAM!	Description says it all, capture a boat. You might need to launch & land a volunteer more then once to be successfull
Perfect catch	Capture successfully without losing health. I got this on the first shot. If possible stay behind a boat so it cant shoot at you.
Gatherer	loads of plants and octopus eyes drifting on that ocean.....drive that boat over them.
Brewer	Brew 10 potions at the Mad Alchemist - really not a biggie especially with the duckweed for the Grog. Freeze booze for everyone.
What do we do with the Drunken sailor	Drink that grog that you heal more hp then you actually need.
You sank my Battleship	Use your regular cannons to sink 100 ships
I love big black balls	That's what she said? use the mortar special weapon to sink a 100 ships. Found the larger ships easier to sink with this.
Just Cruisin'	Just stick to the world level for 30 mins. Mine popped after 30 mins though so timer seems to be a bit off.
The Suicider	Let your health drop of your boat to under 20% and sail around untill it popped. Timer on this one seemed to be more accurate.
Dakka Dakka Dakka	Get enough cash from sinking ships and missions and buy a new special weapon at the harbour. Different harbour offer different special weapons to purchase. Note that you need blue prints to unlock them.
Pimp My Ride	Similar to the previous one - buy a nice new color scheme at a harbour
Cap'n Mor'Guns	Buy all the special weapons at the 3 harbours.
Upgrades!	Buy every single upgrades like the previous one that you buy at the harbour.
Pig-Pen Stunned	I got this when visiting the ghost island whilst doing Crosair missions. Basiclally i took one stink bomber and on the ghost island it auto popped when i got attacked halfway on the island.
Yakonusuke	Need 2 heroes in your group to do this. Once you have them, purchase 1 unit type in each of 3 harbours and it will pop.
Full pack	Once you have all 3 heroes in your group, fill up the last unit slots and voila.
Bob the Builder	Need some cash to build all the buildings in the 3 harbours.

Time sink achievements

These achievements need some time to complete for sure....

99 bottles of grog on the wall…!	Drink yourselves to death with Grog...
Capitalist	Destroy 20 banks in the various towns.
Severed into Shreds	Black cove pirate ship should basically sink you in one go.Still elusive for me, probably need to capture a low health ship and then attach one of them...
Ship tycoon	Own 20 ships - you will capture a bunch once you have all the purchasable ones....
Quick Employer	just have enough cash and hire, fire, hire, etc....
Stand up Comedian	Horrible time sink, get all the floating jokes...this is where you need to go around the world level hours to complete this. Still working on it...

Ok, it must be glitched. Got destroyed in one go by the mentioned ship. No achievement. What a waste of time

Severed into Shreds - I don't have it, but I think there is only one spot in the game where you can get it. During the mission with the ghost ship you get attacked by one Black Cove ship called "Kraken's Revenge". This is the strongest Black Cove ship in the game. At least it got me almost to zero some times, but haven't managed it so far. But I think if you can make it, this is the only spot

Stand up Comedian - You can trick the game a little as it tracks this achievement across all saves. (Also does this with the eyepatch achievement, which I discovered after being on 49/50 and spending many hours searching!) I made a save where I have 5 jokes in a small area and reload after collection. Still takes a long time but quicker than sailing the 7 seas!

Quick Employer - seems bugged for me, have hired way more than 50 units and never had it pop. Would be interested in hearing from anyone who found a solution.

Severed into Shreds - Again I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has this achievement as I've tried with several different ships all with 1/2 star hp and nothing has ever come close to a one shot on my ship!
