Introduction

"Pixel Piracy is a side-scrolling 2d, real time strategy/sandbox/simulation game created by indie developer Vitali Kirpu and produced by Alexander Poysky. In the game, the player leads the life of a pirate captain. Recruit a crew, outfit and customize your ship and set sail on the open seas."
- General Info

Comment: It is a simulation game that you can play to past time with. It's similar to games made by KairoSoft. The difference in comparison is that you are able to build your ship, fighting for survival (against starvation, mutiny, morale, etc.), and the over-all challenging features that forces you to make choices to save or sacrifice your crew member in order to continue on the harsh journey of a pirate.
Current Features

Beginning Strategy Guide
When I start the game, I would normally choose either monsters, or mystery for the battles and randomness. Then I would choose more pirate encounters and falcon blade. Horke may be another choice, but Horke is a handful to take care of. His morale decreases fast because he is a lazy drunk T.T! Why won't he clean up poo!

After I selected my options, I go and make sure I have a food vendor, a weapon, and a pub. This is so i can hire people, have a source of food, and be able to buy a fisherman rod later on. With the 400 g, I'd go look for either a Fighter, Sailor, or Gunslinger. If there is no sailor, I would go for gunslinger, then the latter. Afterwards, I would spend the rest on food.

Secondly, I would go search for crabs and oyster (if there is any). You are still low on cash, I would go bait the thieves towards the edge of the map with my captain, and then ambush him when he is alone to make the extra gold. WARNING: DO NOT KILL ALL THE PIRATES. They will not re-spawn and I assuming you won't be able to heal your captains' morale with out them giving you free drinks. (assuming)

Lastly, when I build my boat, I would only use three wood blocks and save the rest for when I capture a bunch of ships. Then I would palce 1 watermelon if I know my crew needed food before I reach a pirate ship. One captured boat is worth more than 100 g per plundered boat. So i rinse and repeat the captured pirate ships multiple times until I have collected enough materials to make my big boat.

I fight all level 1's till I have a good boat, and a well balance crew for long travels. I would suggest getting a sailor, fighter, gunslinger, cook, navigator, and a fisherman before fighting level 2's. It will become easier for you to save money and sustain the hunger problems of your crew.

If i am able to find a good cannoneer and have enough money for a basic cannon and cannon balls, I'd buy it because of its aoe damage that can help you in the long run. Careful of sinking ships :o

!!!!MAKE SURE NEVER TO HIRE PIRATES WITH USELESS TRAITS, ESP. if they do not balance with its job profession,!!
Ship-Building Guide

First: I build a three wood block hull.
Second: I go out and farm the rest of the blocks.
Third: I go buy steer wheel, barrels, and ladder.
Fourth: Build the ship in whichever way you want.
Lastly, make sure there are no dark spaces, if so get some lamps. Then everything else is decorating. Having an early bed, is helpful in the logn run because it saves you food and morale when they are sleeping.

Hints/FAQs/Secrets

- When I am versing a level 2 boat or attacking an island, I would always save before hand just in case I lose precious crew member or lose at all, and gain a reward not fitting the sacrifices made.
(I would go save at 90%). To reset the encounter in hopes of something easier or more befitting rewards.

-You can use the save when you are about to arrive at a port. It is to reset the port if it doesn't have what you want.

-Harvesting boat parts by capturing other ships, breaking them down into three blocks, and repeat till the needed amount.

-NEVER HIRE BAD TRAIT PEOPLE

-Always make sure to check your crew stats screen for hunger and morale loss.

-make sure everyone is holding a cutlass or greater.

-always make sure you have enough food on your boat if you are going on long journeys!!!

-You can always farm gold early by killing off thieves and pirates that follow you alone. But be warned that those pirates that you kill are ones that can be hired at the pub ( heh.)

-If you know you can not kill the monsters on the island, leave it for later. If you see a treasure box you can grab before monster gets to you before leaving, go and do a quick captain run to get it and grapple back on like Spider man. (being cowardly can still get you money and item)
Bugs/ Fixes
1) During a ship battle, enemy pirates are knocked down to 0 hp, but do not die and are glitched on spot.
-FIX: Move all your pirates on to your boat and click plunder. The enemy is dead already and the system already set them as dead, but you wont be able to pick up the coins from their dead bodies.
If it does not work and one of your pirates are stuck attacking, close the game without saving and exiting. Your save should still be there and you will be back on the sea travel screen to the destination once again. -MAKE SURE TO NOT SAVE & EXIT-

2) Units getting stuck when grappling, unable to jump up 1 block, or looks like they are glitch through boat.
-FIX: Use the move command to unstuck them if they are caught falling off boat, or unable to jump up. But if your unit is stuck, unable to grapple on to island due to the blocks on the right, make sure to only have two blocks from the tip of the boat to point of grapple. For some odd reason, having 3 blocks or more from the tip of the boat causes your pirates to become unable to grapple onto the land. (I.E. pirate - 1 block (any)- 1 block(normally a half block or any other tip) tip of boat.)

so I guess you are just one guy so I will try to take it easy on you. But I am really getting anoyed about trying to build a ship. First of all the way the screen pans out and darkens makes it very difficult to see what you are building and then The box @#$!$!!%!$^#!#%&@%$ that says incompatible (or what ever) crew can't reach here; is blocking what it is saying is incompatible! Can't see what is wrong because #$#$#@!$@#!$#%$ box is in the way! and every time you take a piece off the box just moves down and blocks more pieces. VERY ANNOYING. I don't like alot of video games but I do like this one and it really pisses me off when some game mechanic is stopping me from enjoying it. PLEASE fix this!!

Interesting ... but there's no way to view crew stats/perks before you buy them ... that makes buying crew a crapshot at best.
