This is the case for 28 as well, where I had to do 27 to pass ( 8 7 5 4 3 )
I do remember my last attempt the total came to 30 and I was perplexed but I wasn't recording cause I thought I was done with the guide so others details are helpful. I also wonder where I goofed with the 32 since I remember writing that down a few times during that puzzle. Sadly, too much time has passed to know what I did or didn't mean to type. I can remember being quiet tired during that section with the retries and re-watching my recordings to document the numbers not always adding up, which means high chance I just goofed. It was the one part that made me wish I didn't offer to make a guide for the person who asked on the first guide.
I noticed a small mistake in the 'electricity' puzzle: when you get 31, it's as if the 31 should have been a *30*, not 32. And in your first example: 8 7 6 = 21, not 22.
