Station masters whistle when trains leave.
Local trains instead receive announcements when opening and closing the doors.
As of build 35024, trains without horn receive one.
As of build 35300, trains without level crossing bell receive it. It will sound when triggered by a "bell" waypoint like https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2949188252 or a "crossing" waypoint like https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2790931135.

This mod works for vanilla and many modded trains.

You can customise this mod with <mod directory>/res/scripts/lollo_trains_audio/settings.lua.
For example, you can make it say "mind the gap" and "stand clear of the doors", or nothing at all.
You can also add your own sounds. Just play around.

Notes
1) Whistles and horns can only come if the train has a sound set with clacks or chuffs.
This mod adds clacks to certain modded sound sets that haven't got them. It does not add chuffs.

2) To get more modded trains to whistle, load https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1956333378 and https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1984933237 before other mods and this one after.

3) If you alter settings.lua, back it up to preserve it across mod updates.

Is there any way to make the level crossing bell louder?

All right.Actually I just used a bit...But it does helps me a lot! Once again, thank you for posting this mod :)

If your code depends on mine, you will need to add a dependency. If you copy the bits you need, you won't need it. I'd rather have no dependencies for ease of use.

Some of my mod's functions will depend on your original script code like utils in your script folder. And it does help me a lot to modify many values. So, I want to know if I should add your mod as dependency.

It depends what you want to do. It's probably easiest to copy the bits you need and put in your own soundsets.

Hi there, thank you for posting this mod and it inspires me a lot! I am going to post a mod which will modify the soundset and I want to refer to your code from your mods. Should I add your mods as dependencies? Hoping for your reply :)

Why not? Try this: https://github.com/lolluslollus/lollo_trains_audio_1 . If it works, I can release it on Steam.

Is there a chance to make your mod work with the "USA Whistleposts" mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2790931135 ? That mod is triggering "crossing" event instead of "bell" event?

Great, thank you
