(GFWL FIX) 2021! UPDATED!

Hey guys, there is a new workaround GFWL that is much easier than the others!

1. Uninstall “Microsoft Games for Windows – LIVE Redistributable”

2. Uninstall “Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace”.

3. Download the replacement xlive.dll from here "https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-bulletstorm-xlivedll/"
The file has Bulletstorm in the title, don't worry about the name, Bulletstorm was also a GFWL title, and these files work with Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection too.

4. Extract the two files from the zip archive - the easiest location is your desktop. There will be two files, xlive.ini and xlive.dll

5. Place these files in your Mortal Kombat Install folder. If you purchased the game via Steam, the folder will be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection

This workaround does work but it's a little confusing. Click the link under "fixes" NOT the one in the post. The one in the post says it's been flagged for having malicious content and Steam will not open it. If you click the link under "fixes" you'll have screen saying that you are leaving steam and the site is not affiliated with steam. It'll take you to another website. On the website on the right side is a download button. Download and then follow the directions from the original post. The only real problem is controller support. My controller does work in game but only for certain things. It doesn't work for actually playing the game but does work for getting to menus in game.

I did not have to uninstall anything, just placed those two files in the Mortal Kombat folder and the game booted up fine. Using a wired Xbox controller and its working perfect so far. Thanks for the info. Windows 10
