Hi Guys!

Right so firstly let me say that this map was created by EnG Exzhul and then removed from the workshop. It was insanely massive and had 289 towns. I could get it to load, but not actually 'play' it at all. It's fantastic work tho, a great map!

I have heavily modified it to be playable; but please don't expect it to run on lower end systems, as it pushes my (fairly) high end system quite hard and frequently utilises over 28Gb of RAM. And yes the initial map is over 450Mb...I have also removed the mods that were needed so it can be played vanilla if desired...Disclaimer over!

So this is primarily a London to Exeter Great Western Mainline map, which is what I wanted it for with the FANTASTIC GWR mods that have become available over the last few weeks and months.

However you can obviously recreate the GWR > Cardiff & commuter services, Southern & Southwestern networks also, aswell as some Cross Country services.

The towns & cities included are London, Reading, Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Taunton, Exeter, Brighton, Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and many more...

A vast road network is included; The Motorways you will find are the relevant sections of the M3, M4, M5 & M25. The other roads are not geographically accurate.

No Industries are included

Must have experimental map sizes enabled!

Anyway I hope you enjoy this map, as it's something I've been working on and tweaking for a little while and wanted to share for everyone's enjoyment!

is the train tracks included with this map as aready being laid out thatd be perfect

A very beautiful map, I think you have put a lot of time and effort in the map, and it shows, BUT it is unplayable for me.. It is just to big and to many things going on... The cam is already stuttering as it is, and I haven't even started building anything yet... Thumbs down because of this reason, sorry

@EnG It's strange I'm not seeing this at all, but yeah you're right I guess the only solution would be completely wipe the map and start again... It's a shame I'm not on a 3 week lockdown with time on my hands :steamhappy:

@Matty this is the issue I was having as when I made the map I used a poor left hand mod that bugged out and had to remove which completly messed the map up hence the removal of it. I have noticed it on this revision too, I might be able to fix it via removing all towns and roads but this is one hell of a fix to do that. I have only been making personal maps for most of my 175 hours on this game so far and I am finally just starting a game now. So i will fix this entire map but like I said its a long fix I think.

There shouldn't be any left hand driving traffic at all, as all mods have been removed. I've been play testing this map for a couple of weeks and have not had this issue once... screenshots?

I have a serious traffic problem in the towns, with left hand traffic and right hand traffic colliding and going nowhere. I do not have any mods active.

I won't add as many towns around London this time :P but just make every town I place huge to try fill up the space more.

@gavt1976 I wasn't planning to add anymore but have been playing thru myself in sandbox mode over the last few weeks and have added a few more as I'm building eg. Didcot

Yeah it would be good to see another working of this map with all the towns and roads on it.
