Excalbur Umbra Best Build 2020(Updated with Quality of Life)

Not a perfect build, but good enough to kill level 170s easily with just Exalted blade build. Want something else that is more interesting? Got another build for ya for Radial Javelin or RJ. Although RJ got nerfed so long ago, it is great for some decent Defense missions.

What You Will Need

These are just recommended items to use for the 2 builds I have for you here. It isn't mandatory, but highly recommended:
Arcane Strike and Arcane Fury
Not recommended to use 2 Strikes or Furies because the stacks are diminished. However with the Quality of Life Update, you can't even use both.

Radial Javelin (RJ) Build

This build great in low level defense - mid level defense. So Lith - meso. Maybe Neo if you got at least a buffer in your team or debuffer.


A little backstory on this on a regular Excalibur. So When I started Warframe, this was my very first warframe, and build. So it has sentimental value to me and as a result. No changes to its build at all. At the time RJ was pretty solid. So it is pretty obvious no Umbral mods on this. You can change it to whatever you see fit, but this build itself is solid enough to get the job done.

Exalted Blade (EB) Build

This build can kill level 170s easily. So imagine using this just on level 90s...

Chromatic Build(Quality of Life Update) with Video Showcase

With the new update, I got for you guys a update on Excalibur. First off, this build is now more efficient. 100x better than crit build I got. I highly recommend watching the video that explains the reasoning behind the new status mechanic, arcanes, and my reasoning behind the mods of the Chromatic build. For the Arcanes just get a rank 5 for both Strike and Fury.

I personally use a build that has weak range and very long-lasting EB and i still very easily gain more than 100% damage increase from furious, The range doesn't matter when there's a horde of enemies swarming you 24/7

EB made to do reasonable amount of damage while lasting very long. Knew about the furious. That means gotta add range and its something that doesn't quite fit well.

If you're going to build for maximum damage for EB, You should add in Furious Javelin aug, It gives you crazy amount of damage increase if you hit enough amount of enemies with your 3

Yes, My build has fast attack speed sacraficing damage. However, I will edit this guide and make new video once Quality of Life Update comes out, This time Chromatic Blade will be buffed more with the new way they are doing Status Chance.

CB has 100% status chance with 180%+ str, so you dont sacrifice any dmg on your weapon by using it... its just better with it

Almost the same, My build has attack speed sacraficing dam but fun to use with all those energy blades flying out, with CB you may wanna sacrafice AS for Status Dam and 1 shot everything. with status and attack speed, you wont do enough damage even with Conditional Overload or won't meet up to par with Crit build only. Playstyle preference here. If your fingers hurt with attack speed melee, go for Chromatic. This build I have is before melee changes 2.0 phase 2. Totally forgot to check out Chromatic Blade afterwards.
