Mr. Wise Guy Achievement

This guide will show you where to find all the codex lore entries in the game. There are 32 in total.

Catacombs

At the beginning of the game you will find a circle key to open a red coloured door and behind it you will encounter a Feral Warrior, Shieldbearer and Hurler. Behind them is a lore tablet on the wall left of the exit.

The Well

After picking up the luminous phial on the pedestal the next room contains a fountain. Behind the fountain is a lore tablet.

Refuge

When you find the Ancient Spear look to your right to find a lore tablet in the corner.

The Fire Pit

To proceed beyond the lava caves you need to use the Coffer Hammer which is behind a locked red coloured door. When you find the circle key required to unlock the door go through the entrance and look down the edge to see a lore tablet on your left.

Last Escape

When you pick up the Coffer Hammer the portcullis on the left will raise and a lore tablet can be found behind a Feral Shieldbearer.

Despair

As you reach the final climb to the yellow coloured door while avoiding massive boulders, head left to find a lore tablet.

Eternal Stillness

After leaving the lava caves you will come across a fountain. In the next room hidden behind a yellow circle key and coffin is a lore tablet.

The Contraptions

Shortly after finding the Commander Sickles you will come across this room. When you have pulled the two levers to raise the portcullis at the top go through and look to your right to find a lore tablet.

Oblivion

Make your way down the left corridor and open the essence chest. You will get ambushed, and parts of the wall will collapse. Look right of the essence chest to find a lore tablet behind a Feral Warrior.

Halls of the Dead

You will make your way through a flooded hallway filled with Drowners. If you head forward instead of turning right you will find a lore tablet in a room behind a Feral Hurler.

Bones

While on your pilgrimage you will need to find three crystal skulls to open a triangle door. You will come across this room during your search down a narrow corridor. Break the wall and go inside to find a lore tablet on your left.

Skull Bridge

As you approach the entrance to the city of Jurmum, head in the opposite direction and jump over the collapsed section of the bridge. The lore tablet is on your right near the portcullis.

At the Gates

This lore tablet is right before the chamber with Janus.

City of Jurmum

Before you enter the arena section of Jurmum, head right of the stairs and look left for a lore tablet.

Arena

From the middle of Jurmum head towards the Slum entrance, but instead of going in head left and go up the stairs. A lore tablet will be on your left underneath what was a wooden stall.

The Disease

Go through the Slum entrance and turn right to the green banner on the wall. Where it reaches the bottom you will find a lore tablet.

The Mean Streets

On the eastern side of the Slums a lore tablet can be found behind some stairs.

On the western side of the Slums a lore tablet can be found on a rooftop opposite the western tower.

Slums Tower

At the top of the western tower is where you will find a lore tablet.

Garrison

This lore tablet is found in the western garrison behind a Shieldbearer in a room just below where the Golden Cleaver weapon can be found.

Flooded Garrison

One side of the eastern garrison has crumbled and near the wooden planks acting as a bridge you can find a lore tablet close to the edge. Be careful not to fall off!

No Man's Tower

At the top of the northern tower is where you will find a lore tablet.

The Clergy

On the western side of the Noble District a lore tablet can be found near the northern tower and the bridge that is created after you have activated the device at the bottom of the western garrison.

Memory of Comfort

This lore tablet is only a couple rooftops from the previous one.

Chronicler's Home

On the eastern side of the Noble District on a rooftop near the eastern tower is a lore tablet with an Assassin and Firestarter nearby.

Delusion of Safety

Near the bath house in the Noble District you can find a lore tablet on a rooftop.

Due Punishment

Like the previous lore tablet, this one is also near the bath house in the Noble District. Standing in front of the lore tablet is a Stalker and an Assassin.

The City Baths

In the bath house head northeast from the pool in the middle of the ground floor to find a lore tablet. Next to it is a Leper.

Blood in the Baths

Follow the yellow tube in the bath house up the stairs until you reach the second floor. When the tube turns a corner head to the stairs on your right and behind them is a lore tablet.

Golden Tower

On the other side of the entrance to the eastern tower you will find a lore tablet.

The Demon's Mouth

This lore entry is automatically added to your codex as you approach the final part of ELDERBORN and is impossible to miss.

Essence Conduits

This lore entry is automatically added to your codex when you kill an Essence Conduit enemy that only appears in New Game+ Mode. To access this mode simply complete the game and load your saved game again after the credits.

Thanks! After spending a couple of hours on the guide I thought maybe I should have done one for the essence chests instead, but I finished this one since I started. Most of the lore tablets aren't too difficult to find with only a handful out of the way but hopefully someone will find this guide useful.
