How to create a custom translation for the game
By banz99
This guide will teach you all the necessary steps to ADD your own translation on top of the existing ones or fix those which are already officially available and may contain errors.

Requirements:
-UABE (Unity Asset Bundle Extractor)[github.com] (just pick the latest stable version, 64 bit)
-My own text extraction tool[drive.google.com] (Source code provided in case you need it)
-Some of your time
How to proceed:
After having downloaded those two files, open UABE, and execute AssetBundleExtractor.exe.
Select File->Open and go inside the folder where your game is stored (default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ common\RoadRedemption), get inside RoadRedemption_Data and select globalgamemanagers. You will have to wait a few seconds for a progress bar to complete and then you'll see a new window similar to this: Now click on name, container or path id to sort the table differently until you find a MonoBehaviour entry which has "i2languages" as container (right now it has a pathid of 1566, but it may change in future updates so don't count too much on it). Once the entry is selected, click on Export Raw and save the .dat file in a new folder.
Once that has been done, open my translation tool (if you don't care about the source code, you can find the .exe inside String Extractor\bin\Debug\String Extractor.exe), select the checkbox in case you want to add a new language, then click on "Select Source File" and open the .dat file from before.
A new file with the same name as your dat one but with a .txt extension will be created inside the folder, and it will have all the strings of the game in an xml format (each entry will be displayed with a translation in every language). Edit this file with Notepad++ and in case you chose to add a new language, the new entry will be filled with "TRANSLATE" and you'll have to specify both your language name and locale at the bottom of the file (inside the langdata subparagrah). For all intents and purposes, you should only edit things inside <string> </string> tags and leave everything else as it is unless you really know what you're doing. It should be noted that in case you don't provide a localization string for that particular entry (I.e name of the bikers) the game will revert to English, so keep that in mind (an empty string can be both <string></string> or <string />). Once done, make sure you saved your work, reopen the string extraction tool, click on "Rebuild file", specify the txt file, the original one, and you will have a third new file with a .rec extension (In case it spits out an error, check the row and column specified, you may have accidentally deleted something there). Now reopen UABE, find the same Monobehaviour as before, select it and press Import Raw, then specify the .rec file created with my tool. Press ok and it will ask you where to save the modified "resources.assets", do it, then go inside your game data folder, rename the old one and paste the newly created modified one inside the folder (you can't overwrite it from UABE, you first need to save it somewhere, then replace it). Good job, the work is done. You can share that resources.assets with other people to spread your translation, but you should be aware that this file is likely going to change after each update, so my suggestion is to extract the new one every time, check with your translated one, apply your changes and repack it back.
Limitations
Unfurtunately not everything regarding the UI is made up of text (Things like the 1st, 2nd etc. numbers displayed on the top right are textures which need to be edited on their own) and not every bit of text is inside the monobehaviour that is extracted (most notably some characters starting stats, but may be in the future once the developers add the translation flag and strings for them) so note that some things may not be as perfect as you'd like.
So, why did you do all of this?
I'm working on my own Italian translation for the game, and i tought that creating a tool just for me would have been a bit of a waste of time. Now everyone can edit the translation without having to deal with Hex-editors, padding, sizes and whatnot.

Can you, please, update your tool?
I can't add a language because of an error "System.OutOfMemoryException".
Thank you.

Ciao! Ho cercato tra le guide di Steam la tua traduzione italiana ma non l'ho trovata... C'è la possibilità di scaricarla da qualche parte?
