A list of enhancements, tricks and fixes I've discovered to get the most out of Puyo Puyo Tetris

Introduction

This guide contains mostly undocumented fixes, tricks and enhancements that I've discovered to improve the game.

This guide will be updated as i discover/develop more enhancements

Quicker Input Response

For whatever reason upon opening Puyo Puyo Tetris inputs are slightly delayed even with Fullscreen and VSync disabled.

To fix it you have to Alt+Enter to Windowed mode then Alt+Enter again back to Fullscreen, then the response time will be minimal.

You'll have to repeat this again if you Alt+Tab out and in

Not everyone will notice the difference but for those who do, it's a big improvement

Better Volume Control

By default Puyo Puyo Tetris maxes out at a very quiet volume level, often requiring you to turn up your device's speakers in order to hear comfortably.

However, by accessing the config.ini in the game's directory (\steamapps\common\PuyoPuyoTetris) under AudioConfig you can assign a number value to the BGM, Sound Effect and Voice volumes. This allows you to go beyond the maximum volume and tweak each volume to your liking.

My recommended settings (Only applicable to Japanese voices):

Lossless Graphics Mod

An effort to revert most of the compressed assets in puyo tetris and replace them with lossless ones.

Trimming Install Size

The install for Puyo Puyo Tetris includes tons of files that go unused and in some cases uncompressed which all add up to a gigantic file size given the game.

I will detail all the files you can trim from the game for people with low storage space

Proper Mouse Cursor

A mod I made that replaces the glove cursor with a stylised traditional cursor

HD Desktop Icon (Bonus)

A 300x300 reconstruction of the exe icon with proper scaling (Works properly with different icon sizes)
Just need to convert it to .ico

Sorry I kinda just left this alone for ages, i can try update it with new things but idk when, if you still want an install size fix, start with deleting narc files that exist with both '_e' and not '_e' versions (e.g. delete 'button.narc' but keep 'button_e.narc')

Whoops i meant to type disabled, without the alt enter trick you still get input delay

If you are using vsync in any video game you will get input delay no matter what.
I'll try to tinker around with some upscaling programs to make a 4k texture pack for PPT.
