kkStB 310

This mod adds the series 310 of the Imperial Royal Austrian State Railways (kkStB).

In 1908 a more powerful express train locomotive was necessary. The 2-6-2- series 110 and 10 were not powerful enough to haul the heavy new passenger cars. Therefore Karl Gölsdorf developed a heavy 2-6-4 locomotive. The construction of a “turned” Pacific was necessary to place a big firebox, because most of the coal available in Austria had a minor quality.
In 1911 this class was enhanced to the superheated class 310. The kkStB ordered 90 units of them for their express trains.
