Hind/Mil Mi-24

Mil Mi-24 (NATO nickname: Hind) is a large combat and troop helicopter with the capacity of 8 fully equipped soldiers including pilots. The helicopter has been used since 1976 by the Soviet air defense, its successors, and over 30 other nations.

Its NATO name is Hind and variants are identified with an extra letter. The export versions, Mi-25 and Mi-35, are called Hind D and Hind E. Soviet pilots called the helicopter "crocodile".

Hind is based on the Mil Mi-8 troop transport helicopter (NATO nickname: Hip).
