Minimap Orientation Mod

This mod adds letters NSEW (North, South East, West) to the minimap for better orientation, because if the map is zoomed to full screen in the original game the compass disappears, which gives lack of orientation.

There is also a second version for download which only adds the letter N (North)

Install

1) Goto folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Outcast - Second Contact\outcast_Data\

2) Make backup copy of following file:
resources.assets.resS

3) Overwrite it with downloaded file
resources.assets.resS

Uninstall

Overwrite with backup file
resources.assets.resS

Download

North, South, East West marked

Works great, just not on the first/very small map (not needed here). So if you test it right at the beginning, don't worry, the NSEW will show up on all the large maps.

You should tag this guide as English, its getting hidden atm due to the lack of that tag when we look at "view all" for guides

Thank you for this useful modification. Is there a reason why the mod file is 50mo less than the original file?.

Edit: neither version of the map works on my version, the map appears all blurred/pixelated.

Steam considers all mediafire links to be suspicious regardless of the file content. Unfortunately Steam does not offer to upload files for the guides, so I cant upload it to Steam. At least I haven't found a way to do it.

What's up with the link being flagged as malicious? Hasn't Valve\Steam contacted you about it? If not I would email their support team if you know your files are clean.
