Introduction
This guide provides some suggested limitations to the summoning ability - helping you sort through what's useful and fun to summon.
If you find yourself wading in a pool of baseballs and unicorns, this guide is for you.
Please note: this guide isn't a comprehensive walkthrough or list of every summonable entity.

Object or Adjective?
Sometimes, it's not your BACKPACK but your VOCABULARY that needs expanding.
There are many items you may not realize can be summoned. Try using synonyms you already know, or the dictionary option - if you are not sure what you need before, during, or after you are finished typing a word or object.
Sometimes, the first thing you should do is give an object an adjective.
  • A flamingo might be pink to start with, but if it isn't...adding PINK to its name may bring it back to normal.
  • You may need to write an adjective to "override" what was shown to you. Sometimes objects will be presented to you in non-conventional ways.
  • Adding an adjective usually has the effect of overwriting what was given OR what you previouslty wrote!
  • When spawning your own object, most cases will allow you to spawn it with an adjective. You would simply type in Yellow Monkey instead of spawning a monkey and adding the adjective yellow, or spawning yellow paint and painting the monkey yellow!
Knowing when it's convenient to use either an adjective or an object can help you narrow down what to carry in your Magical Backpack. You probably don't want to sort through mountains of convenience items to find ONE convenience item.
Common, Useful Adjectives
Faster Gameplay ---> Self: FAST, FLYING Also, SWIMMING (you can kinda swim anyway), GIANT (allows you reach the edge of the on-screen map faster, or you could just zoom out).
  • Roadblocks, traps, and enemies you need to defeat ---> Target: FLAMING, BURNING, EXPLODING (you can also summon FLAMING TNT)
  • Extinguishing fires, flames ---> Target: EXTINGUISHED
  • Changing the temperature of an object ---> HOT, COLD / COOL
  • Non-lethal "kill" ---> Target: SLEEPY, POISONED, FROZEN, PETRIFIED, HARMLESS (depends on nature of target - harmless prevents unprovoked fights, but doesn't curb eating habits)
  • Damage control / making fighters stop fighting ---> Target: DEAD (99.9% effective =D ), PEACEFUL or HARMLESS (depends on entity), PUNY (if bullying is going on), see non-lethal kill
  • Making objects or NPCs fight (some may also need weapon) ---> Target: ANGRY, VIOLENT, DANGEROUS, etc
  • Re-animating objects (nonliving to living) ---> Target: LIVING, CONSCIOUS, BREATHING, SINGING, DANCING, TALKING, etc. Often, using a MAGIC WAND on {inanimate target} will animate {inanimate target}.
  • Making things "colorful" or exotic ---> Target: RAINBOW, COLORFUL (note: GLOWING makes things green-colored...)
  • Making objects more educated, useful or mature ---> Target: PROFESSIONAL, INTELLIGENT, SMART, etc
  • Making objects portable or PEOPLE able to fit through tight spaces ---> Target: TINY
  • Cleaning up, getting dressed up ---> HANDSOME, BEAUTIFUL, SPARKLING, CLEAN, etc.
  • Growth spurt, making things scarier based on size ---> BIG, GIANT, HUGE, MASSIVE, etc.
If you can't accomplish something by adding an adjective, you should open your notepad and summon something OR try editing the object in question.
Summary: What to Put in your Magical Backpack? Suggestions!
What to Put in your Magical Backpack:
This section covers Collecting Starites and Object Shards. More specifically, what helps you earn them, like things related to Game Mechanics and Convenience.

Transportation
You should make use of the WINGS from EDWIN'S FARM. You'll end up using them on many NPCs you can't add an adjective to. You use and obtain them in one of the first Starite missions, so it should appear in your backpack always.)
  • AIRPLANE - transportation for NPCs. An AIRPLANE is specifically used a few times in-game.

For yourself, simply add the adjectives FAST FLYING. Or, you could ride a HELIBACKPACK, MAGIC BROOM, ;)
Make sure to apply FLYING to any NPC whenever you can, instead of spawning a vehicle. Don't forget, if you're able to edit {target object} you can re-write its movement capabilities from there.
------------------------------------------
Combat
  • DEATH RAY will kill any NPC you can attack AND they will disappear. Totally OP! Use wisely.
  • Keep a fighting machine such as an ANGRY MECHA handy for eliminating hostile NPCs and animals, objects...FLAME or FIRE is useful in many situations. You can place it and have it cause damage while you sit at the edge of the on-screen map - away from harm. Placing FIRE in a container will damage most containers. Be careful with FLAMETHROWER, as poor aim can require restartng the level to respawn NPCs and entities.
  • HYDRA, MECHA, WYVERN (DRAGON), KRAKEN, T-REX all are big, noticeable...and will start fights...add adjective ANGRY FLYING. You will need a "mythical beast" for several missions. an ANGRY DRAGON is the best because it shoots flames instead of a melee attack.
  • WRAITH and WAR spawn as hostile entities.
  • Keep a bottle of POISON and MEDECINE. TRANQUILIZER and FREEZE RAY are also handy for a non-lethal takedown. TRANQUILIZER GUN shoots a tranquilizer. TRANQUILIZER and POISON require direct interaction with NPCs and objects.
  • Cattle prod can shock NPCs and objects into a state of fear and most will run.
  • SLINGSHOT and TRAP are good for safety zones, as are FLAME and FIRE.
  • CHAINSAW and FLAMETHROWER are very efficient weapons.
  • For defense, you can summon a SHIELD or WALL. Alternatively, you can hide in a vehicle until takes too much damage. The adjectives, RUBBER and FIREPROOF can be helpful against electricity and fire.
------------------------------------------
Game Mechanics and Technical Issues
Sometimes, you end up with a lot of objects in your way and you end up clicking on them instead of what you were aiming for.
  • BLACK HOLE is handy for cleanup if you spawn lots of objects to fulfill Object Shard requirements all at once. BLACK HOLE destroys mainly non-anchored buildings and other spawned objects and NPCs.
  • HUNGRY OMNIVORE will eat most food you've spawned...Maybe a few living birds even :/
------------------------------------------
Recycled Mission Requirements
A significant number of level-based NPC interactions will require the same or similar objects. Many Starite missions will put a costume on you.
Remove those costumes, place them in your backpack, and use them later for profession-based NPC missions and Object Shard clothing and profession-related requirements.
------------------------------------------
Other Frequently-Used Items
  • Keep an authority figure handy, as well as a FIREFIGHTER (FIREMAN) and POLICE. Examples of authority figures: PARENT and/or, TEACHER, GUARDIAN, GENERAL, POLICE, etc.
  • When considering a weapon for yourself, I recommend using a ranged weapon, such as a GUN, the LASER or FLAMETHROWER.
  • MAGIC WAND, GUN and SWORD are also handy, whether you or NPCs use them.
Other examples of things to keep on hand.....
  • DISGUISE (or clothes of a specific profession)
  • CLOWN
  • FIRE TRUCK
  • POLICE CAR
  • EGG
  • BANANA
  • TOOL (i.e. WRENCH, HAMMER)
------------------------------------------
Other things to keep in mind (Rehash):
------------------------------------------
  • BLACK HOLE, WIND, BLIZZARD, TSUNAMI, TORNADO, SUN, and RAIN, PLAGUE, etc. can be summoned with the notepad. (And many more!)
  • Many types of buildings can be summoned
  • Many people of many professions and attitudes can be summoned
Have fun!

But what's the point of doing it super efficiently if it isn't very fun?

backpack is infinite

Can things in the backpack be instantly respawned multiple times... or is it just a one-time thing?
I mean why would I even put things in my backpack if I can just spawn them from the notepad instantly on the spot?

Adjective that can be used that's better than dead, gone. It literally wipes them from existence.
