How to Replace the New Music with the Original.
By JonPringus
In the HD release, the music was changed due to various reasons, some legal, some we can only speculate on. Some music is brand new, while some is ripped from previous Monkey Ball titles. This guide will direct you on how to change the music back to the original Banana Blitz for Wii's music.

Here's the video from the creator of the mod, Peas.
In the video description, he gives the google drive link to the mod itself:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o-kANbfiSeaT_k_OSgDhDr1vyLZ-3yUP/view

Download it, and extract the Zip file. Go ahead and read the readme and you should be good to go.
My Files
Now, right click the game in your steam library (or press the gear icon on the game's page), hit "properties" at the bottom, then go to the "Local Files" tab and hit "Browse Local Files". Or if you know where your Steam games are stored, you can go directly to that.

Next, direct yourself to this file location: steamapps\common\SMBBBHD\SMBBBHD_Data\StreamingAssets

In "StreamingAssets," you'll notice a folder named "cri". I recommend copying that folder and saving it and all its contents somewhere else, in case you want to keep some or all of the new music.

Now, Drag-and-Drop the "cri" folder from the zip file you downloaded earlier into "StreamingAssets" (or extract it). If it asks you if you want to replace the files, choose "yes to all".

That's it. The game will now play the music from these files instead of the new ones.
Caveats
Here's a few issues with this mod:
  • The music from the original game is "softer" than the new music. The creator recommends turning the Sound Effects and Voices in the Options Menu down to 6 or 7 while keeping the Music at 10.
  • All of the music has been replaced now, side for the credits theme, which was too short for the HD version's credits.

If you want a track to be replaced with a new track, what you'll need to do is go to where ever you backed up the "cri" folder before you replaced it, and choose the 2 files with the same name, but different file extensions (e.g. bgm_main.acb and bgm_main.awb) and copy and paste those two into the "cri" folder that the game is using. (Some tracks only have 1 file, so just copy that one over.) Most of the the tracks are straightforward as to what level they appear, but some music isn't, like the main title theme, so you may need to do some trial and error. It would be a good idea to keep the zip file in case you want to change the music back and forth.
Future
You should have 3 cri folders; the one that was downloaded from Steam that you have stored in a separate location on your computer, the one from the zip file from google drive that is also in a separate location, and the one in your game's folders. If you are curious as to whether or not the mod is working, the title theme will change from this:

To this:

Check out other tracks on youtube from both versions of the game if you want to ensure that it has been changed.

All music has been changed (except the credits), including the Sonic menu theme, which is changed to the Sonic and Knuckles theme. I am not actually sure which file correlates to the Sonic track, so I can't tell you which one you'll want to replace. If you know, please inform me and I'll update the guide.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy Banana Blitz (as much as your can :vanilla: )

I like the idea of this. I fail to understand why it doesn't work for the credits.

This guide is a lifesaver!

Loved the Original Music on the Wii! New music is meh for the most part.
