Hosting Servers
When the game launched, servers hosted in LAN mode, which did not require a ubi.com account, were visible and connectable to players over the internet via the console. As Ubisoft broke this starting with patch 1.33 (Steam is patch 1.4 [latest]), hosting servers that can be connected to without being logged in to ubi.com requires a modded CryNetwork.dll file[community.pcgamingwiki.com].

Download and copy the file to the game's Bin32 directory, overwriting the one there, and you can host dedicated and listen servers in LAN mode normally after that.

A port can be specified with
\sv_port <port>
, otherwise the default port is 49001, and this must be forwarded in your router to the IP of the computer hosting the server to allow it to be joined by players across the internet.

Refer to the documentation in the game's Support folder for more information about running dedicated servers, cvars, and other console commands.
Joining Servers
To join a server, open up the console with the tilde key (~), and type in
\connect <ip address of server:port>

e.g. \connect 100.1.2.100:49001

Active servers:

\connect farcry.su

You should be able to generate a port forwarding guide for your router at https://portforward.com/

Make sure whoever's hosting the game has an open port.

Hey I tried the DLL but we get Connection Timed out. Any clues ? I'm on GOG version and my friend steam, 1.4 both versions.
