INTRODUCTION
Welcome to my Secret of Mana guide for PC. I have been a major fan of Secret of Mana since playing this game way back in the 90's so when they released this version I was so psyched that I was going to get to play one of my favourite childhood games again AND remade, I just couldn't wait.

SO! here is my guide for the game and with probably as much information you could throw a Rabite at. If you have stuff you would like to see added to this guide then please leave a message in the "Comments" section at the bottom and I will look into your request.

NOTE: All screenshots/icons used in this guide were screenshots taken by me from in-game, and edited for this guide. The World Map picture is someone else's work that I have credited in that specific section.
HINTS & TIPS
Here's a few hints & tips you could do with knowing before setting out on your adventure.
  • During my guide you will see little pictures against some of the Boss names, these are to indicate it is an achievement gain. For the rest of the achievements its just as easy for you to check the game's steam page to see the other ones you need to get and how.

  • One of the achievements is to have one of every piece of equippable gear in the game, so make sure to buy at least 1 of everything every time you look in a shop and haven't owned it. You DO NOT have to keep it in your bag once its there, you can resell it back if you don't use it.

  • There are a few missable equipment items in last few areas of the game, these MUST be farmed for if you want the equipment achievement, check the 'Equipment & Missables' section for more info.

  • Weapons level up by the death of monsters, not by each time you hit it. Magic however levels with each cast. SO! this makes it easy to fast level skills in low areas. You will see in my guide I say Gaia's Navel for this 'cos the monsters there are super easy and die fast. This is also true for Primm's buff/heal magics, use the INN at Gaia's Navel, spam cast sword spells, or healing, but mainly the magics that cost the least to cast, then sleep at the cheap Inn, save, repeat process.

  • Magic can only level to how many Mana Seeds you have sync'd your Mana Sword to in the palaces. Where as weapons can be levelled with how many Weapon Orbs you find, using Watts to upgrade them first.

  • Weapon's DO NOT have to be levelled to get the Weapon achievement(s). When I say throughout the guide to go level the weapons up this is to help things be easier for you in dealing with bosses and enemies and to do more damage, no other purpose. So with that, you DO NOT have to level each weapon if you do not want to when I say to go level them up after upgrading.

  • Weapon charge attacks for your AI controlled characters can be set in the ring menu, you set that weapon you have equipped level. You will need to set this for each weapon and every time you upgrade the weapon with an Orb.

  • There seems to be some trick to knowing what's inside chests, if you use Primm's Sylphid spell - Analyzer on chests. The pictures below show Analyzer used on a chest and it glows red, the red glow means that it's usually the best item, be it a top grade item or Equipment piece you may be looking for. Honestly though, if a chest drops you should just open it any hows, but be aware of Doom Traps and Mimics.
GUIDE - POTOS FALLS / WESTERN POTOS FOREST / POTOS VILLAGE / SOUTH POTOS FOREST / NEKO'S STORE
POTOS FALLS
Recommended Level: 1
Items To Find: The Rusty Sword.
Monsters: None!

As the game starts your treated to the games intro story sequence setting the stage for the adventure. Soon, your character, (Randi), is walking across a log with two friends, then you suddenly slip and fall to the bottom of the waterfall, your friends run off to get help. As you come around from your fall you need to make your way BACK to the village.

So, once you have control of your character.. head South onto land through a gap in the wall, then cross the bridge that to the South-East. Go North and you'll see a sword stuck in a rock, follow the path North and around into the water to get that sword, you pull it out and some weird light shines from it, NOW you are able to cut grass and kill things. Head East out of the water and cut through the grass and head further East into a new area.

WESTERN POTOS FOREST
Recommended Level: 1+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Rabite.

This forest is very linear, so just follow the path killing EVERY Rabite you come across until you come to another bridge you can cross, then the exit just to the East of it will take you into Potos.

INFO: I recommend leaving the town the way you came in as soon as you enter it, (DO NOT look around the town yet), you WILL need to be at least level 4 for the BOSS battle that will occur when you talk to the NPCs.

Keep on going back and forth through all the forest areas killing all the Rabites until you are level 4, and your sword is level 1. Set your sword on 1 in your 'RING MENU > ACT'.. this will then enable you to power your weapon up for stronger hits. Once you have the requirements, head into Potos.

NOTE: Blocking, being hit, dodging, or knocked down will enable you to power your weapon up instantly without you having to swipe and wait for the counter to reach 100% to power up, take advantage of this knowledge.

POTOS VILLAGE
Recommended Level: 4+
Items To Find: Sword Orb, 50 GP.
Monsters: Mantis Ant (Boss).

FIRST! enter the 'Item Store' just South of the entrance, buy a "Bandana" and equip it, leave the item shop, enter the 'INN' and rest if you need to, if not, just say "NO" and then when asked to SAVE.. say "YES". Leave the 'INN' and then head North-East to where you will see Elliot and Timothy stood outside a house talking to an old guy, talk to him.

An earthquake seems to have good timing, when Elliot is hitting you, you both fall down a sinkhole to where a boss is.

BOSS - MANTIS ANT:Just keep hitting the boss and use the 'POWER UP' trick described above to hit good damage on the monster, keep an eye on your HP, if you need healing then use a Candy from your bag, you should have a full stock of those by now after grinding your levels in the forest. Once it dies you will receive a 'Sword Orb', this will enable you to upgrade your sword later.

Once the Boss is dead, you get pulled out of the hole, the guy here is called Gemma, he says something about awakening the sword at the Water Palace and he'll wait for you there, he then leaves. Timothy approaches and says that the Elder wants to see you in his house, so head there now. The villagers are NOT happy with the doom you have brought down on the village and says you should be banished from Potos, the Elder has no choice but to banish you.

The Elder let's you take what is in the chest down in the cellar, so go down and get it, '50 GP'. Go back upstairs and talk to the Elder once again, you'll learn a little about your mother, leave the house and head South to the village gate, (unless you need other things), and leave.

SOUTHERN POTOS FOREST
Recommended Level: 4+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Rabite, Lullabud, Mushboom.

When you leave Potos Village, you will see you have a choice of paths at the signpost, East or South, East will take you to the Cannon Travel, which will take you instantly to your next location or the South route that is longer to travel to the Water Palace but it enables you to gain EXP for Randi, make your choice, i'll take the long route for the EXP and for the sake of this guide to show everything.

Head South, then at the next path choices, South or West, head West past a BIG solo tree, across a small bridge and North to where you can then head North or West. West takes you into a shop, go in and buy a "Wristband" for Randi and then leave again, head North into a new area.

OKAY! talk to the normal looking guards, (NOT the yellow haired guy), and then they will walk off into the forest. Head North from the guards into a new area, this is the Water Palace.

GUIDE - WATER PALACE / GAIA'S NAVEL / GAIA'S NAVEL CAVERNS
WATER PALACE
Recommended Level: 4+
Items To Find: Spear.
Monsters: N/A

At the door you will see Gemma, he tells you to hurry and enter the Water Palace, enter and make your way North up some stairs, carry on and step on the weird tiles to make more stairs to appear. A little further in you will come to an altar with someone stood at it, talking to her you learn it's her you need to see, her name is Luka. After a chat with Gemma and Luka, he will leave for Pandora City.

Alone with Luka, speak to her and she will give a few option, choose whatever you like, eventually you will have to choose correctly to advance the story and you will then re-activate your Mana Sword on the altar's Mana Seed. Luka will at this point also give you a new weapon to use, the Spear, I recommend you equip this now and get this to level 1 also as you travel to your next destination.

INFO: By finding and activating Mana Seeds in Palaces you will make your weapons stronger, meaning you will be able to power them up even more for stronger devastating attacks. First you would need to power the weapons level up by using a Weapon Orb, you have ONE already from the first BOSS you fought, it's for your Rusty Sword weapon but you need to find a Smithy that will activate them, you will soon enough find one.

Now that is done, you can talk to Luka to heal and SAVE your game, then leave the Water Palace and head South to the forest again.

SOUTH POTOS FOREST
Recommended Level: 4+
Items To Find: Nothing!
Monsters: Rabite, Lullabud, Mushboom.

At the place where the guards were, exit to the South-East, in this area you can go West into the shop, or go South, head South. You are jumped by some goblins, a funny scene plays out here. After a short scene, the mysterious girl runs off and you can control Randi again. Head now to the paths that lead South or East just outside Potos Village, head East into a small area with a Cannon Travel NPC there, talk to him and travel to Gaia's Navel.

NOTE: It's possible to walk to Gaia's Navel, you need to get to Pandora City and then take the West exit out and follow the LONG route through Pandora Fields. DO NOT enter Pandora Castle if you decide to walk the distance for EXP, Primm WILL force herself into the party and then you will be messed up with this guide and you won't get a SECRET BOSS FIGHT!

GAIA'S NAVEL
Recommended Level: 4+
Items To Find: Nothing!
Monsters Outside: Buzz Bee, Lullabud, Mushboom.

Okay, the Cannon Travel lands you right near where you need to go, just to the North-East of you in the water are two cave entrances, the Right one is a dead end for now, BUT sometimes NEKO - The Travelling Salesman is in here selling goods. The correct cave is the Left cave entrance, go on in.

GAIA'S NAVEL CAVERNS
Recommended Level: 5+
Items To Find: Magic Rope.
Monsters Outside: Blat, Green Drop, Kid Goblin, Mushboom.

INFO: Level your Spear weapon and Randi in here, as the BOSS coming up at the end of this area will require you to use the Spear and you will need Randi at least level 8+ to be safe on the BOSS. The monster - Kid Goblin in this cave can sometimes drop a rare helm for you - Head Gear, be sure to get at least one of these for the later achievement.

In this first cave, you will be confronted with a monster - Green Drop, be careful, it can multiply itself AND poison you, at level 5+ this CAN be dangerous if you've NOT got the healing items available. Work your way around the caves, it's all straight forward, and at the lava room.. enter the cave at the West side. In this cave, move North and you will see a SKULL on the wall, hit it with the Spear, you will hear a sound coming from the previous lava cave, the lava has gone. Exit just South of where the steps are that went down onto the lava.

In this NEW area, there's an exit to the South and also a cave door to the West, go West to the cave, in here are two monsters guarding a treasure chest, kill them and get the treasure, Magic Rope, (this enables you to escape dungeons quickly and has infinite uses.) Once you have the item, leave this little cave and go to the South exit and enter it to go down further into this cave system.

Kill the TWO Blats that are in this cave then head down South again into another room. Follow this room all the way around and then North to some stairs going down a floor, go down. In this NEW room, head ALL THE WAY East then up the stairs to find another SKULL on the wall, hit it again with your weapon and the rock behind you drops down. Go back down the stairs you just came up and now there is a rock in the middle of the room you can walk on to get into the cave opening here.

GUIDE - DWARF VILLAGE / GAIA'S NAVEL / KIPPO VILLAGE
DWARF VILLAGE
Recommended Level: 8+
Items To Find: Spear Orb, Chobin's Bow, Watts's Axe, 150 GP (returned from the show).
Monsters: Tropicallo (Boss).

INFO: Be sure you do not enter this village until you are at least level 8+, there will be a boss battle very soon, having the Head Gear helm will also help but not necessary, also the spear level 1 will be useful for this fight. there IS a store in this town that sells better gear that can help for this fight but chances are you won't have enough GP for all of the items. The Head Gear is also sold here if you are having difficulty getting it to drop.

Okay, first thing is to go to the door in the North-West of this village and speak to Watts, he is the Armor Smith guy who will fashion new weapons out of Weapon Orbs you find, you have one already.. so let him upgrade your sword to level 2. He will notice that the sword is the Mana Sword and asks you to come back after, leave. Now head to the shop and upgrade your gear.

Go SAVE at the 'INN', then head into the door just North of the inn, then in there take the North-West door into a stage area. Pay the 50 GP and watch the show, pay the 100 GP, then go around the path into the North-East room. The sprite guy and show master will make a few comments, then go talk to them. After that, head back into the main village area, MAKE SURE you have your Spear equipped. An earthquake suddenly happens releasing a monster into the village.

BOSS - TROPICALLO: The only way to reach the BOSS is to use the spear and wait for it to appear on a certain side, run up to it and strike it, all making sure you dodge the pumpkin's that bouncing around the place and the vines that are also growing about the place too. You can kill the vine flowers if you want that will ease the fight for you. Once it's defeated.. you get a Spear Orb.

The Elder will thank you then suggest you take the sprite with you, say "YES". Talk to the sprite and name him, Popoi then joins you as a permanent member. Talk to the Elder again to get the Chobin's Bow then head to Watts, speak to him to get Watts's Axe for 100 GP then talk to him again and upgrade the Spear to level 2. Now leave Watt's room and head to the item Store and buy any gear for Randy and Popoi that they might need, buy an extra 'Power Vambrace' for another character who will join you shortly.

SUGGESTION: I recommend you now stay in the caves and level up all your weapons on both characters so you have a much better chance of surviving the next place and the boss that's gonna pop up shortly if you didn't go and get the girl first. This will also enable you to get more GP to get the items in the Dwarf Village that you were not able to buy.

When you are ready to continue on with the game head outside to Gaia's Navel.

GAIA'S NAVEL
Recommended Level: 10+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Mushboom, Buzz Bee, Lullabud, Rabite.

Once outside, make your way around climbing to the top of the navel until you come to a signpost. Now, to continue onward you can head North but you can make a quick stop off to a small town that has some items in for the new character about to join you. Head South on this level and exit out to another field. Out here exit to the West to enter Kippo Village.

KIPPO VILLAGE
Recommended Level: 10+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters Outside: None!

In this village head to the Item Store and buy the 'Kung Fu Dress' and 'Hair Ribbon', head to the 'INN' and rest if needed then SAVE. Leave the village and head back to that signpost in Gaia's Navel.

GAIA'S NAVEL
Recommended Level: 10+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Mushboom, Buzz Bee, Lullabud.

So, from the signpost exit out to the North into a large forested area. Talk to the old man here to find out that a girl has gone North into The Haunted Forest, head North after here.

GUIDE - THE HAUNTED FOREST / EILEEN'S CASTLE
THE HAUNTED FOREST
Recommended Level: 10+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Chobin Hood, Werewolf (Boss), Blat, Mushboom, Eye Spy.

Okay, using your sword, make your way around the area cutting through the flowers to advance. Once you get to NEKO.. SAVE, then head up the steps then go West along this platform and step onto the warp pad to be taken to a BOSS battle.

BOSS - WEREWOLF x2: These two werewolves can be VERY hard to beat, they hit hard, knock down, AND stun. The trick to beating them is use your partner as a dummy and take them on one at a time OR keep away from them and use the Boomerang and Bow weapons for safety.

Once they are defeated, talk to the girl and she forces herself into your party permanently. So, now you have Primm and Popoi you end up in a new area.

SUGGESTION: I recommend you now head back to Gaia's Navel and level up all your weapons on Primm so you have a much better chance of surviving the rest of The Haunted Forest
place and the boss that's there. This will also enable you to get more GP and levels for everyone but as this is only a suggestion it's up to you.

From the location you end up in after the 2x Werewolf boss fight the West has stairs that are blocked off for now, so head East and follow the path onward until you reach another warp pad. Step on the warp pad and in this new area just step on the North-East warp pad to close a gap in the mountain.

Now go all the way back to where the West path was blocked and use the Axe on the pillars to break them down, carry on through the warp pad just South and then East a little. In this new area, follow the forest path around to the warp pad that's to the North-West, take this again into another area. In this area, follow the forest around and make your way to the North-West again and step on the final warp pad.

ELINEE'S CASTLE
Recommended Level: 10+
Items To Find: Boomerang Orb, Leather Whip, 50 GP.
Monsters: Werewolf, Eye Spy, Chobin Hood, Mushboom, Polter Chair, Blat, Spikey Tiger (Boss).

Okay, make your way East, and around to come to the castle doors, enter them to carry on. Inside, head North through another door, kill the chairs in this room then enter the next room, head to the North-West gate, open it and go into the next area. In this area, kill the TWO werewolves and follow the path around and then down some steps into the jail cell area. Talk to the guard behind the first cell, he tells you how to activate the bridge with the switch, then SAVE at NEKO then leave back up the steps.

The switch in front of you on the floor.. step on it and the bridge should form, now you can head North through the door. In this section, you will see THREE doors to the North, the Left and Right doors are just small rooms, so take the middle door. In this next section, move around the path to the switch and then a wall will move, South of you, head back and follow the newly opened path to another door, enter it.

Kill the TWO chairs, then just to the North you will see Elinee, talk to her and then follow her out the big doors. Eilnee will send Dyluck to someone called Thanatos using magic. The witch will then disappear leaving you to deal with her pet.

BOSS - SPIKY TIGER: This boss is the MOST ANNOYING boss in the game in my opinion, to deal with him.. when he's up on the high platforms.. use your ranged weapons. like Bow or Boomerang, when he's down on the main floor, whack away at him with your level 2 Sword. Keep an eye on your HP and also try to keep your other party members alive too, they will distract the boss from you long enough to defeat him. Once defeated you get a Boomerang Orb.

Head South back into Elinee's Castle and just down the steps you will find Elinee, it seems she was being controlled by Thanatos, she tells you where she sent Dyluck. Use the Magic Rope to make your way back to the Castle entrance and as you exit outside.. Primm will be happy that Dyluck is alive. Suddenly, Luka talks to Randi asking him to come to the Water Palace straight away, so that's our next destination.


Head around the castle's outside and back into the Haunted Forest.

THE HAUNTED FOREST
Recommended Level: 10+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Chobin Hood, Werewolf (Boss), Blat, Mushboom, Eye Spy.

As you make your way around the forest, you will see a stump up the top of some steps, line yourself up with the stump that's on the other side of the gap and use your Leather Whip, your party will jump over the gap, now you can carry on and step on the warp pad.

This will take you to the familiar place, where the guards were just before the Water Palace, head South first into Neko's Store and SAVE and then head back North into the Water Palace area.

GUIDE - WATER PALACE / UNDINE'S CAVE / GAIA'S NAVEL / DWARF VILLAGE / UNDERGROUND PALACE
WATER PALACE
Recommended Level: 12+
Items To Find: Nothing!
Monsters: Iffish.

Okay, enter the palace and speak to Luka, she tells you that the cave just to the East is hiding the Elemental Undine, but it seems her power is fading and the seal on the palace is weakening, so she asks you to go check on her. Leave the palace and head East into a new screen, then a little more East to find a cave, ENTER!

UNDINE'S CAVE
Recommended Level: 12+
Items To Find: Glove Orb, Pole Dart.
Mana Elemental: Undine.
Monsters: Iffish, Tonpole (Boss), Biting Lizard (Boss)

So, make your way through the linear cave, being careful of the monsters and you will come across Tonpole a pre-evolution form of a BOSS, so kill it and then the real boss fight begins.

BOSS - Biting Lizard: This boss is easy other than the fact it has an annoying EAT skill, he will swallow one of your characters, if he does this, just hit him to get it to barf you out. Just keep using your strongest attacks on him and it WILL eventually fall. Once defeated you get a Glove Orb.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Enter the new cave opening and in here you will meet Undine - The Elemental of Water. She will give you two sets of magics, one set for Primm, and the other set for Popoi, Randi won't get anything.. other than the fact of knowing one day his "Mana Sword" will be more powerful than ANY magic in the world. You will also be given a Legendary Weapon of Mana, the Pole Dart. Once done, head back to Luka.

WATER PALACE
Recommended Level: 12+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: N/A

Back at Luka, she will give you some IMPORTANT information about Undine's Magic, she will also tell you where to go, so head BACK to Dwarf Village via cannon travel, or walk back, up to you really, though cannon travel near Potos will probably be the quickest way.


~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUGGESTION: Stay at Luka and spam your Remedy spell on Primm, until your mana magic is level 1, use Luka to heal your MP for free. Things go quicker if you assign a spell to a shortcut and alternate the spell onto Randi and then Popoi, repeating it, casting spells on Primm herself will take more time when trying to spam for levels.

GAIA'S NAVEL / DWARF VILLAGE
Recommended Level: 12+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: N/A

Take the Right entrance to get to Watt's room quicker, talk to him and upgrade all your weapons with the new orbs you got. Now, SAVE at the INN and then you have two choices..


1. Go level up your newer weapon levels in the caves along with Popoi's Undine Magic and then carry on with the game, OR..

2. Carry on with the game not as powerful as you should be.

Either way.. you will eventually have to enter the cave that's appeared in the middle of the village to continue your journey.

UNDERGROUND PALACE
Recommended Level: 13+
Items To Find: Axe Orb.
Mana Elemental: Gnome.
Monsters: Goblin, Ma Goblin, Chess Knight, Green Drop, Blat, Fire Gigas (Boss)

Once you enter the cave, you will see an orb on a ledge, have Popoi cast FREEZE on it and the lava stopping your path will dry up, now head North through the cave door. You will soon reach a room that has a big burning statue thing in it with exits to the East and West. Take both the routes and press the switches in them to remove the big burning statue thing that's blocking your true path.

Step on the switches to form the bridge, cross it and go through the door. Follow the path around, killing all the monsters you see, use the Whip to cross over the gap and carry on following the path until you reach another set of stairs, go up these to continue on.

On this floor, follow it around, killing all the monsters again, and you will come to another set of stairs leading up, this will take you up to the stage room and to where a BOSS awaits you.

BOSS - Fire Gigas: Switch to control Popoi, use his magic skill - FREEZE on this boss to make quick work of him whilst the other two attack normally and Primm heal your party when needed. There is a trick here to negate ALL the bosses damage: all you need to do is time a shared spell on your full party at the right time and the bosses attack won't hit you, this takes a little practice to get it timed right though. Once defeated you get a Axe Orb.

Through the door is where you will find the Elemental - Gnome, and a Mana Seed you can activate with your Mana Sword to be able to level your magics up to level 2. Popoi regains his memory and remembers he's from a place called Upperland Forest. Use your Magic Rope item to leave the dungeon and head back into Dwarf Village.

GAIA'S NAVEL / DWARF VILLAGE
Recommended Level: 13+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: N/A

Head to Watts and upgrade the Axe with the orb that you got from the last boss, stay at the INN and SAVE. NOW! your next destination is Pandora, you can Cannon Travel there using the cannon just North and then East of Gaia's Navel, OR.. you can walk by taking the South exit out of Gaia's Navel and follow the road East thorough Pandora's Western Fields, up to you. When exiting the navel you will get a short scene between you and Luka happen.

Once in Pandora, head to the North-East and enter the castle, head up to the throne room on the top floor of the castle. In the throne room, Gemma is waiting for you, after a small chat with the group he tells you where he's heading and asks for you NOT to follow, guess what? your going to follow him. Speak to the King and they will head off into their private chambers.


Leave the castle area, and go back into Pandora's town area, Head to the South exit and speak to the girl with blue hair, Pamaela, now take the South exit out.

SOUTHERN RUINS
Recommended Level: 13+
Items To Find: Bow Orb.
Monsters: Zombie, Tomato Man, Evil Sword, Chess Knight, Wall Face/Chamber's Eyes (Boss)

Follow the path around to what looks like a weird looking building, these are the ruins you now need to explore, it so happens THIS is where Dyluck has been teleported to also.


In the ruins, go up to the steps and speak to Pamaela again, you will push past the guards and enter into the ruins themselves. Head North through the BIG door, ignore the doors on the left and right. In this new room, follow the path around and down being careful of the Horse looking enemies, those will WIPE YOU OUT if your not careful.


When you reach an intersection, head South and out into a BIG room. Follow the path around and South, then East and finally South to go down MORE steps. On this floor, follow the path around and you will eventually encounter Thanatos at the top of the stairs, he'll then make you fall into a trap.

BOSS - WALL FACE / CHAMBER'S EYES: Hopefully you levelled Gnome up. Use level 2 Gnome Magic Earth Slide to kill this boss quickly, concentrate hits on the middle eye only, ignore the side eyes. Once defeated you get a Bow Orb as a reward.

Back at Thanatos, he realises that your the ones with the Mana Sword, he soon makes a run for it, CHICKEN! head down the steps and then talk to Gemma who is walking around aimlessly. He tells you to head to Luka again at the Water Palace and then you end up outside the ruins.

PANDORA / PANDORA CASTLE

Pandora's Armor shop has now opened and has some nice wrist gear in there for you, Cobra Bracelet, if you want to go buy three. Head into Pandora Castle and speak to the King to gain access to a small room that contains a few chests and two Weapon Orbs - Sword Orb and a Spear Orb.


Now head back into Pandora town and enter the house shown in the picture below and head upstairs, speak to Primm's dad to add him to your collection book. Now, head for the Water Palace to see Luka again, can head there by going North of Pandora.

Inside speak to Luka and you also notice the seed is gone, Luka senses the seed at Gaia's Navel so I guess this is our next stop, use the Cannon Travel to get there quicker.

Take the shortcut into the village, talk to Watts and get him to upgrade your weapons you have orbs for as you just recently got a few. Go to the INN next and rest up and then SAVE. Head into the center of the village and you will see a huge hole in the ground, speak to the dwarf near the hole, then Gemma, then head down into the hole.

SCORPION ARMY'S BASE
Recommended Level: 13+
Items To Find: Whip Orb, Javelin Orb.
Monsters: Kilroy (Boss).

On the ship, go down the stairs just by you and follow the path to the right and go up, get the chest for a Whip Orb. Enter the room and you will now be confronted with the Scorpion Army leader, they will run off into another room, follow them and now they will attack with something they built.

BOSS - KILROY: Use Earth Slide and long range weapons staying clear of it, if you get hit by it's hammers you're looking at a nice chunk of damage to you or everyone.

After it's dead, you get a Javelin Orb, head back to Watts and upgrade the TWO new weapons, and head back to the Water Palace. FIRST THOUGH! I recommend you level your weapons again whilst your here as you have a boss to defeat in the Water Palace shortly, up to you though.. think of the extra MP and strength.

INFO: At this point of the game you should now be able to level you magics to level 2 and your weapons all to level 2 other than Sword and Spear.. those can go to level 3.

WATER PALACE / DWARF VILLAGE

When you enter the Water Palace area, you notice something ain't right, it's overrun with monsters. Rush to Luka, it seems she's held captive by someone called Geshtar, choose which ever option you like, it leads to the same thing happening, suddenly you're thrust into a boss battle.

BOSS - JABBERWOCKY: Use Earth Slide on this boss, and ranged weapons. watch out for it's long head attacks, these will hurt if they hit you. The boss will use Cure a few time to heal itself so this battle will be drawn out, be sure to heal your team when needed.

Once it's dead, you will receive the Bow Orb and then go back up to the seed, TALK TO GEMMA FIRST for a Whip Orb and then talk to Luka a few times, SAVE. Reactivate the Mana Seed with your sword then talk to Luka again, she tells you to head to Upper Land.


FIRST! head back to Dwarf Village and speak to the Elder, he will thank you for coming back to speak to him and give you the Midge Mallet, this will make you big or small, useful for the next area we are going to. Upgrade your weapons again with Watts as you have 2 new orbs from the Water Palace. Head to the Cannon travel near Potos and choose the new location, Upper Land.

UPPER LAND FOREST
Recommended Level: 16+
Items To Find: Axe Orb, Gloves Orb.
Monsters: Silktail, Steamed Crab, Water Bandit, Peebler, Nemesis Owl.

You land in Upper Land Forest with a troupe of Moogles in the area, talk to them and you'll learn about the Peebler's and that they have overrun the Moogle Village, so this is our NEXT goal, to liberate the village so the Moogles can move back in to their home. So, this forest is a little bit of a maze, it follows seasons as you go through screens, you need to follow the right order of seasons to reach certain areas.


Just to the North of where you landed is Watts, seems he travelled here too. Leave the village to the South-West and you will then see NEKO, buy whatever you need, the Quill Cap will be good for Purim and Popoie at this point, stock up on items that you have used, then SAVE.


From NEKO, head to the South-East and go through the exit here, in this area, take the North-West exit, you should be in a small area with the Peeblers in, kill them then go to leave the village and a scene takes place. Talk to a Moogle and Popoi will remember everything and give a clue on how to reach his village. Get the TWO chests in here containing Weapon Orbs, upgrade at Watts, buy stuff, SAVE, then leave the village.

SUGGESTION: Again, you don't have to follow this suggestion BUT the coming boss and following areas will be tough so I recommend you level up your weapons just outside the Moogle Village in this screen. Be aware the pink rabites, these little suckers can hurt. You will be able to build some nice GP whilst here, try to get to at least level 20+ on each character. SAVE in the village every now and then, unfortunately you can't replenish HP or MP in the Moogle Village so use items and then buy more off the Neko cat.

Next.. to walk the four seasons, leave Moogle Village and exit to the South-West and then re-enter the area you just left. Now take the North-East exit into a brown coloured season area, the owls here can drop Quill Caps. Take the North-West exit into a snow season area, then last but not least.. take the South-West exit, you will now hear a sound and you'll get a notice of some kind flash up, move right and the area has cleared to reveal a new opening and path to follow, move North into the new area.

SPRITE VILLAGE
Recommended Level: 20+
Items To Find: Boomerang Orb.
Mana Elemental: Sylphid.
Monsters: Axe Beak (Boss).

When you enter the village it's in shambles, then you hear a screeching from the North, enter the North area and a boss battle will begin.

BOSS - SPRING BEAK: Use Popoi and attack the boss with Earth Slide magic, this will hurt the boss more than anything else you have at the moment.

Once it's dead, you receive Boomerang Orb from it, you can now head further North into a tower like place. Turns out the boss was guarding a Mana Shrine, after a short story, you will gain the Elemental - Sylphid. Use your Mana Sword on the SEED up the steps and you'll activate it, now you can level your magic to level 3, talk to Gramps again and SAVE, then leave the tower, leave the village.

Head back to Moogle Village and upgrade your weapons, stock up on items you may

From outside Sprite Village head to the South-West exit and go into the next area. In here, follow the path to a weird orb on a rock blocking your way, have Primm cast Analyzer on it and then use Popoi and cast Air Blast on it, the rock will collapse to allow you through. Carry on through the forest now, following the only route you can go, you will eventually come to an exit going West out of this area, take it.


In this new area, head to the North-West corner and you will see another exit, head through there. In this new map there is TWO exits, one to the East, and a cave to the North, the east exit leads to a Cannon Travel, head to the North cave and enter.


Use the Axe in here to smash down the spiky rocks blocking your path and head through the new doorway.

MATANGO
Recommended Level: 22+
Items To Find: Javelin Orb.
Monsters: None!

You end up in a new village, Matango, it's a village of mushroom people. SO! follow the path into a new area that has two doors, go into the shop first and buy whatever you need, then leave and go into the BIG door, this is Matango's Royal Palace. There is an INN just to your right and through the Northern door opposite the guard. You see Watts has made his way here also, just head north through the door and speak with the king.


He tells you of a legend, then asks you go find this dragon he speaks of in a cave, after that, he will tell you how to get to the Palace you need to find. Head right and up the stairs to a small room that has a Javelin Orb in a chest, head to Watts and upgrade this weapon.. ALL your weapons should now be able to be upgraded to level 3. Head now to the guard to the Right of Watts that was in blocking your way through a door, head through and out into a small path that leads to another cave system.

MATANGO'S CAVE SYSTEM
Recommended Level: 22+
Items To Find: Sword Orb.
Monsters: Crawler, Steamed Crab, Kimono Bird, Nemesis Owl, Iffish, Great Viper (Boss).

SUGGESTION: I would try and level Sylphid's Magic up on Popoi in these caves whilst your close to Matango and an INN, this magic will be crucial in defeating the next boss much easier. You also have new weapon levels to gain also so level those also if you wish but the magic is more important for this section.

Head North to the cave killing anything you see on your way, enter the cave, this is where most of the exploring will take place. Follow the cave around and when you come to a part with TWO spikes in the ground, use the whip to jump over the gap, carry on down to the next floor. On this floor, jump over the gap again and go down the stairs just near you. In this room you will come to a choice in the path, North-West, North-East, or North (which has a hole in the way), head up the stairs to the North-West.


Follow this new floor West and go down the stairs, and then up another set of stairs to where you will find an ORB on a raised section, use Gnome's - Earth Slide magic on it and it will disappear, now head back to the room before this one and you will notice a path has opened up just to the South of the steps you just came down, follow that and go down ANOTHER set of steps. On THIS floor, it's a small room with 2x Kimono Birds in, kill those and then carry on, OKAY! time for a BOSS FIGHT!

BOSS - GREAT VIPER: Just pound this giant snake with Popoi's Sylphid Magic - Air Blast, dodge the boss as it comes close to you, I'm sure you know the drill by now, Melee attacks do hardly NO damage at all, so stick with magic.

Once it is defeated, you get a Sword Orb as a reward, head North into another cave. Follow this cave around its linear path and into another cave where you will meet a dragon, YES! a dragon.. talk to it. You decide to take the dragon back to Matango with you.

MATANGO
Recommended Level: 24+

Back at Matango, the king decides to keep the dragon with him for a while whilst you carry on with your journey, he decides to call it Flammie. He then tells you of a Fire Palace in a desert place known as Kakkara, then he tells you that the Cannon Travel is now open back in Upper Land Forest. We won't be going to Kakkara for reasons that will become clear, leave the throne room.


Forge your new sword at Watts, go buy stock you need in the shop, then rest at the INN and SAVE. Now head back through the cave you used to get to Matango for the first time and outside the cave head into the next screen via the South-East exit to the Cannon Travel, head to the Ice Country now and NOT Kakkara, it's a waste of time to go to the desert right now because you can't enter the Fire Palace without the seed, and that's in the Ice Country.

GUIDE - TODO VILLAGE / ICE CRYSTAL FOREST / THE TROPICS / NORTH ICE CRYSTAL FOREST
TODO VILLAGE

You land in Todo Village, so head into the shop just North of you and buy your party NEW gear, try go for the most expensive stuff for everyone, you should have enough gold by now if you have been grinding weapon/magic levels when I suggested. Leave the shop and then exit out of the town to the West.

ICE CRYSTAL FOREST
Recommended Level: 25+
Items To Find: Spear Orb, Bow Orb.
Monsters: Howler, Pebbler, Shellblast, Bluster Gas, Boreal Face (Boss).

Okay, this first section, just make your way to the far West then head South into a new area that has a house and a Reindeer walking about outside. Talk to the Reindeer, Rudolph, his master has gone and he wants you to find him. Once the chatting is over, head into the house and get the chest, it's a Spear Orb.

NOTE: It might be worth you heading back to Todo Village and upgrade the spear now being the fact your only one screen away from the town, Watts is in the Armor Shop. This Ice Forest area is a fantastic place to level your weapons and magic up.

From Santa's House, head South into a new area. This area is HUGE, head East and follow the forest around South past the Cannon Travel exit and then West to an exit, go through this. In this new area, once again follow the path to the South slightly and then West, then North. Exit North into a new area for a BOSS FIGHT!

BOSS - BOREAL FACE: Charged attacks work great on this boss but Sylphid's - Thunderbolt works nice too.

THE TROPICS

The first thing you'll notice is that this town is so out of place compared to the surrounding forests, there's got to be something The Scorpion Army are doing to make it like how it is. Head to the center of town and you'll see a scorpion army NPC there, talk to him and he asks you to look after the stove, once the guy is gone examine the stove and then Open it.


It seems the Mana Elemental - Salamando was locked inside to keep the town from freezing over, he'll join you for helping him out. After the chat with The Scorpion Army the town will become deserted, head to the North of town and exit to the Northern section of the Ice Crystal Forest.

NORTH ICE CRYSTAL FOREST
Recommended Level: 27+

Monsters: Howler, Pebbler, Shellblast, Bluster Gas.

TIP: Using Primm's Salamando Magic - Flame Sabre will help you greatly from this point onward, especially in the Ice Country. With each hit on a monster it will cause Burn AND make the monster stop, so attacking them will be easier. ONLY use this if you have plenty of Fairy Walnuts to spare because you will need MP for the palace coming up.

In THIS area, follow the path around to the West, then North, and finally East, the first path North will take you to a NEKO shop where you can also SAVE, and the next North path will take you to your destination.. The Ice Palace.

THE ICE PALACE
Recommended Level: 28+
Items To Find: Glove Orb, Boomerang Orb, Fire Seed.
Monsters: Shellblast, Blue Drop, Specter, Weepy Eye, Mystic Book, Tonpole, Biting Lizard (Boss), Frost Gigas (Boss).

This place is like Elinee's Castle, press floor switches to open up pathways. In the first room, follow the right path, and step on the panel to continue upstairs. Head up the next stairs and at the first path fork, go to the right first to get a Glove Orb, then go back and take the left path. Eventually you'll come to a room with two switches on the floor, step on the right switch to open up the doorway.


Just beyond is the library room section, move around the book shelves to the North-East corner head through the door into a small library room with some switches at the back wall, step on them, and you'll fall down to a BOSS fight.

BOSS - BITING LIZARD x3: The trick here is to concentrate on one tonploe/biting lizard at a time. Use attacks on the tonpoles then use Salamando's - Fireball on biting lizard for nice damage. You will not receive anything for this battle.

Once the fight is over, you'll end up back in that library room, and a new entrance has opened up just North of you, enter this to carry on.

THE ICE PALACE continued...

Now, move around the room using the Whip to jump over the gaps and make your way to the center altar, step on the warp diagram on the floor to warp to a small room with three Weepy Eye's in, go through the small door here and you will be in the Ice Palace's FINAL BOSS room. When asked to leave, say "NO" to carry on with the BOSS.

BOSS - FROST GIGAS: As with the last boss, pelt this one with Salamando's - Fireball Magic also and just stay clear of him.

Once the boss is dead, you will receive a Boomerang Orb, and then the scene changes to you in the throne room and it seems the BOSS was all along, Santa. He gives you the Fire Seed and you exit The Ice Palace. Make your way to the area just past Santa's House and on the Eastern most side is the Cannon Travel, take this now to Kakkara.

SUGGESTION: If you head back to Todo Village you can upgrade your weapons and then use the Ice Crystal Forest just outside the village to level all the weapons up and also magic if need be before heading back to Matango up to you. This area is great also for gaining levels whilst training your magic and equipment, not to mention some nice GP gains.

Okay, If you did not choose to stay at Todo Village to level up your weapons and level them outside in the Ice Forest then now is the time to head to Watts inside Matango Palace and upgrade them. Head to the INN and SAVE then head through the small cave back to the Upper Land Forest. Head South-East to exit out to the East to find the Cannon Travel, take it to Kakkara.

KAKKARA DESERT

You are supposed to land in Kakkara but instead land in the middle of the desert, seems the Cannon Travel was off it's mark a bit. So, the only thing you can do now is just head in any direction a few areas until a scene plays out. You see a ship in the northern distance so head to it, you decide to enter the ship.

THE REPUBLIC SANDSHIP
Recommended Level: 28+
Items To Find: Whip Orb.
Monsters: Mech Rider #1 (Boss).

When you enter the ship you are accused of being Imperial spies so you are all split up and sent to various parts of the ship to work, Randi in the engine rooms, Popoi in the kitchens, and Primm is sent to the Commander's room..


As Randi talk to the guards at the door first then go speak to the guy wearing the yellow cap twice, Sergo, he will decide to help you escape, go speak to the guards and they will move from the door and then you are free to roam about the sandship. Outside, the guard is a SAVE npc, head left first then South, up the stairs and head for the stairs on the East side of this level. On this floor, follow the path and enter the door, Popoi will soon join you by talking to him, head back up onto the top deck.


Head South to a door leading inside, head left and upstairs to the SAVE npc, SAVE, head back down and around to two guards by a door, talk to them and they will run off, enter the big doors. A scene happens then the sandship is attacked, head just North and speak to the green looking NPC, Geshtar, he will then attack you.

BOSS - MECH RIDER #1: Just hit the boss with Popoi's Sylphid Magic - Thunderbolt, about five or six times.

Once the boss is defeated you will receive a Whip Orb. You'll end up then stranded in the middle of the desert, talk to Admiral Meria. One guard will tell you how to get to places, North = Kakkara Town, West = Fire Palace, remember these locations. Speak to another guard and he will ask you if your leaving, say "YES" and you will be warped to Kakkara Desert, head North to get into Kakkara.

KAKKARA

In Kakkara, head to Watts and upgrade your weapons, stay at the INN and then SAVE. The Item Shop has the same stuff as the shop in Ice Country so don't even worry about that unless you need to stock up on items. Talk to the two guys stood by the dried up oasis to add them to your collection book. Once you are done in this town leave through the South entrance/exit.

Okay, this desert can be a maze on times, and getting lost is easy, so follow the directions coming up to get to your next destination. So from outside Kakkara Town, head South one screen, West one screen, North one screen. Follow this area around to the North and you will come to the entrance of the Fire Palace, enter!

FIRE PALACE

Monsters: Robin Foot, Red Drop, Dark Funk, Mad Mallard, Pumpkin Bomb, Minotaur (Boss).

As soon as you enter move straight North to dodge attacks from monsters, now take these monsters out.

TIP: These Robin Foot's can drop a helm item, Quilted Hood, which has fantastic defense at this point for Popoi and Primm, so try and get two. Most of the monsters in this palace are weak against Undine magic.

The right door leads to a dead end, so take the left door and follow the path around and down into a cave looking room that starts to turn red, move to the center of the room and cast Salamando's Magic - Exploder on the ORB to cool the room down which will allow you to carry on up the North stairs. Remember this new area, head all the way to the left and you can walk down through a door, follow this new path to a chest that contains 1000 GP, go back to the room I asked you to remember and take the stairs in the center of the room going up a floor.


Head slightly left and you will see another ORB for you to cast magic on, use Salamando's Magic - Fireball to make the path appear so you can carry on South. Heading East, go up the flame path first to get a chest with 1000 GP in again, then go back and go up the stairs to the next floor. In this new room, head ALL THE WAY West, and you will see stairs going down, go down these and fight your way through the monsters to find another chest that has a Axe Orb in it.


Go back to the big room you just came from, and follow it around to another set of stairs going down, take these down a floor. On THIS floor, follow the path around and you'll walk across a narrow ledge to MORE stairs going down, take these down to carry on further into the palace. Go and step on the green floor switch just up on a raised section and it will open a wall to your right, head that way and go up the newly opened staircase into a room. Go up on the raised platform, use the Whip to jump over the gap, and go up the stairs that's near by, go up the NEXT set of stairs also.


You will now be in a BIG room full of lanterns, step on the switch just North of you to activate them all, next cast Undine's Magic - Freeze on the newly appeared ORB, now you will be left with TWO lanterns burning, go and stand in the middle of them to make a doorway appear with stairs going up, this is the BOSS room.

BOSS - MINOTAUR: He's weak against Sylphid's Magic, so cast Air Blast on him until he dies, stay clear of him.

Once defeated, you will receive a Javelin Orb. Head North through the door, a scene plays out, use your Mana Sword on the Mana Seed at the top of the stairs to receive the Seed's power, you can NOW level your magics to level 4. Use Magic Rope to exit out of the palace and had BACK to Kakkara.

KAKKARA

Back in Kakkara, upgrade your weapons, update your stock, sell any spare items you might have gained from the monsters, rest in the INN, SAVE. You should now have ALL the weapon level 4 orbs forged, also your magic can now level to 4. Exit through the East side of Kakkara into a Cannon Travel screen. Speak to the NPC and have him send you to your next destination.. The Empire, more specifically.. Southtown.

GUIDE - EMPIRE: SOUTHTOWN / SEWER SYSTEM / EMPIRE: NORTHTOWN / NORTH RUINS
EMPIRE: SOUTHTOWN

When you enter the town by walking right, head for item store, the INN is on the main floor, go upstairs to the item store NPC and buy NEW gear for your party.

NOTE: IF you don't have a lot of GP then leave the gear in this shop and wait to buy better again in Northtown, BUT getting through the sewers WILL be harder, just try to avoid all the monsters is your best bet either by avoiding or using a Barrel. Of course.. you WILL need to buy these equipment items if your going for the achievement.

Leave the INN/ITEM house and go East, you will then see a yellow haired, green clothed NPC walk North, follow them and talk to them. NOW! head to the North-West of the area to a lone house and you will see a blue haired woman walk into the house, go in and talk to her.


Turns out she is a spy continuing on her late husbands work, she talks a little then gives you a code, "634", to hand to the NPC that told you to go away at the barred gate. Go to the NPC, give them the code and they will move out the way for you to gain access to The Sewer System. Enter the sewer.

THE SEWER SYSTEM
Recommended Level: 30+

Monsters: Iffish, Dinofish, Blue Drop, Mad Mallard, Pumpkin Bomb.

The sewer system is straight forward, no secret tunnels, chests or anything, just make your way through it killing on your way to level up a bit and eventually you will exit out into a house in Northtown.

SUGGESTION: You might want to level up in these sewers for a while, maybe get your levels to around 35+ if you are not at that level yet.

You appear in a house in Northtown, Krissie starts to talk to you and tells you they are the resistance leaders and someone in the North Ruins is doing strange things, someone by the name of Dyluck. Leave the house and head for the Item shop, buy new gear.. especially if you missed buying gear in Southtown, go to the INN, downstairs in here is Watts, who'll upgrade your weapons, rest in the INN and SAVE.


Head to the North-East of town and take the path there out to reach the North Ruins.

NORTH RUINS

WARNING! the monsters in here are TOUGH, they can wipe your party in seconds. My advice is level in the sewers if you NEED levels, and in this dungeon, just ignore all the monsters and run pass them.

At the entrance you meet Pamaela, she's like a zombie, she mentions Dyluck and she gets hit by Primm. Once Pamaela gets taken away you can enter the ruins. Once inside, head left or right and up the HUGE steps, there's TWO small doors up on this level that will both lead you around to some chests holding a Bow Orb and a Spear Orb, so head out them both and go get those.


It might be a good idea to return to Northtown and get those weapons forged now considering your so close to the town, so go do that and return back to the ruins entrance room. From the entrance, head North and go through the HUGE door in the center. Follow the path route and you will reach a long corridor with two other doors in it, take the furthest door to the West, follow this path and go down the stairs you eventually come to.


You appear in a HUGE room, to your West is a door surrounded by spikes that you need unblock, so, head down the path on your right, on the same level as you, and take the Southern most exit out of this room. Follow THIS route to a small single room with a switch on the floor, step on this then return back to the room that had the spikes surrounding a door in it, enter it and get yourself a chest containing a Sword Orb. Back in the BIG room, go down the steps and step on the switch here, a door will open just behind you, go through this.


Follow the path around to a room with spikes on the floor, make your way around and step on the switch to lower these spikes, you can now enter the door to the North of these spikes. Follow the path onward and you'll eventually come to a BOSS room.

BOSS - DOOM'S WALL: It's weak against Lumina Magic but you have NOT got that yet so just use Salamando's - Fireball Magic, on the center eye, try NOT to use any Faerie Walnuts because you'll need as many as you can for the next boss battle coming up shortly after this one.

Once the BOSS is defeated, you'll receive a Whip Orb.

NORTH RUINS continued...

Enter the door to the North and go up the stairs to meet Dyluck, a scene plays out and then he asks you to go through another door to the North, do just that. In this room you see Thanatos, with Primm dead on the floor, another scene plays out and she returns to life and Thanatos is angry, he sets his minion on you.

BOSS - VAMPIRE: As with the last boss, use Salamando's Magic - Fireball to take down this boss, stay clear of him.

Once the BOSS is defeated, you'll receive a Boomerang Orb. You'll end up on the platform where you first saw Dyluck, after a short scene, use the Magic Rope and make your way back to Northtown.

EMPIRE: NORTHTOWN

In Northtown, head to Watts and upgrade your weapons, stock up on your used items, rest at the INN and SAVE. Head to Krissie in the resistance's base and she'll tell you The Emperor wants to arrange a meeting for signing a truce between The Empire and The Resistance. Not sure if it's a trap you agree to go to the nearby castle and see what this is all about.


Head to the North exit out of town to get to the castle.

THE EMPIRE'S PALACE
Recommended Level: 37+
Items To Find: Glove Orb, 1000 GP, Axe Orb, Whip Orb, Javelin Orb, Flammie Drum
Monsters: Metal Mantis (Boss), Emberman, Armored Man, Dark Ninja, Mystic Book, Mech Rider 2 (Boss).

Okay, follow the bridge and enter the castle, ignore the soldiers around the place, they just chat crap. In the castle, head North up the stairs following the linear route until you enter a seemingly empty room, head to the North of this room and talk to the mean looking NPC, you are captured and thrown into the dungeon cells. Talk to the guard at the cell gate and he will let you out and force you over a ledge into a pit.

BOSS - METAL MANTIS: This boss is pretty much the same as the mantis boss you fight in Potos, at least it's moves are, he is stronger though. As long as you have kept up with levelling your magics.. Gnome's Magic - Earth Slide will work great here, just stay clear of it and pelt the boss with those.. at level 4 magic it will die within 4 to 5 hits of Earth Slide.

Once the boss is defeated you will receive a Glove Orb and then a tile will appear in the centre of the room, step on this to appear in a dungeon of sorts. Now, head West and step on the yellow creature thing to hop over the gap and head down the stairs, then North to a chest containing 1000 GP, now head into the open door just to the left of this chest, up the stairs you find in this next room and you appear out by the cell you was locked in.


Stand on the orange button to open the cell doors and talk to everyone. Follow the stairs to the West into a new room, follow the path and you eventually appear outside the castle. Kill the monsters and then head up the stairs at the far East side and enter the small door here to find a room with three monsters in it, kill them and step on the switch to open the cell door, then take the door into a small room that has two chests in containing an Axe Orb and a Whip Orb.


Now, head back outside, and enter the open HUGE door down the steps, kill the few monsters in here, at the top of the stairs take the left set of stairs, (the right pair will take you back to that room where you got captured). Follow the linear path once again and you will appear outside, but on a raised area, take the door you find out here to enter the castle again.


Step on the switch and head through the door. Continue through the castle until you come to an area that has weird looking tiles on the ground, take the path heading East, then North, then West, then up the stairs. Head East, North, then West and step on the tiles here will warp you to another part of the room. Follow the room and before stand on the tile hit the switch that's on the wall, this will allow you to pass ALL the weird floor tiles now, enter the HUGE doors just near the switch. You will confront a group of enemies, after which.. you will be thrown into a boss battle.

BOSS - MECH RIDER #2: Hit the boss with charged weapon attacks, magic won't work here.

Once the boss is defeated you will receive a Javelin Orb. The boss will set the castle on fire, King truffle comes to save you with Flammie and sets you out into the sky, giving control of Flammie to you.

​Whilst flying on Flammie you can press L or R to change your view of the World Map to make things slightly easier for you to see where you can land. From THIS point onward, it is best if you use the World Map to find places easier, it will help get you to places quicker, rather than me trying to explain how to get there on foot, the map is titled with the locations already for you in the section - FLAMMIE LANDING LOCATIONS / WORLD MAP.


So, using that map head to Matango and land there.

When you're back in Matango, the King will give you a few tips on using Flammie outside the palace and then will tell you to visit Lofty Mountains. Talk to Watts to upgrade your weapons, rest in the INN and SAVE your game. Head outside the palace and use the Flammie Drum.

SUGGESTION: Travel to Gaia's Navel and level up ALL your weapons and magics to the max they can go to before heading to the Lofty Mountains.

LOFTY MOUNTAINS

Landing in the right place with Flammie will make you appear just outside a cave.. DO NOT enter here just yet BUT remember this cave. Head right up the steps into a new area and continue to climb the mountain using the Whip to cross gaps as you go. At a certain point, (if your lucky), you will come across NEKO selling things, he will also SAVE your location too.

INFO: You will need to buy at least one each of the three equipment items here if you are going for the achievement, chances are you'll have enough GP to kit all three characters.

Head to the top of the mountain now and enter the cave here, inside.. talk to the fish looking dude.. he tells you that Sage Jock is not there and he's gone to the Palace Of Darkness, so this is OUR next location BUT we are not going there yet, instead we are going to get the allusive Moogle Belt, so head outside the cave and call Flammie.

THE MOOGLE BELT
Recommended Level: 37+
Items To Find: Moogle Belt.
Monsters: None!

Head to Kakkara town and speak to the two guys at the dried up pool, one will mention something about a Sea Hare's Tail, call Flammie again.


Now, head to a small island in the ocean, just South of Kakkara and land here. Head into the middle hut and talk to the NPC here for the Sea Hare's Tail, call Flammie again.


Head back to Kakkara and talk to the minister again and hand over the Sea Hare's Tail, the oasis pool will refill with water, the minister will then hand you the Moogle Belt.


SAVE at the INN and head back to the Lofty Mountains, when you're ready head into the cave.

PALACE OF DARKNESS
Recommended Level: 38+
Items To Find: 1000 GP, Glove Orb, Javelin Orb.
Monsters: Grave Bat, Imp, Emberman, Dark Ninja, Fierce Head, Dark Knight, Lime Slime (Boss).

Inside, head North to the next area. In this room, go Right. Follow the path North to the next room. a cave area. Smash the rocks with the Axe, head through the South-East door, in here head South into a new area. Step on the blue switch and then head down the stairs into a new room. Follow this room around to find a chest, 1000GP.


Head back a room or two to the blue switch you just previously stepped on, exit North, and in this room take the left side door. Step on the switch here to make a spike appear on the other side of the ledge. Now, go back to where you just got the 1000 GP chest, and continue forward. In the next room head up the stairs and through the door. Carry on forward into the next room again to the cave area. Use the whip to jump over the gap and step on the switch, this will open the cave door to your right.


Now you need to make your way around to that newly opened door, best way for this is to use the 'Magic Rope' and make your way North 1 room, enter the middle door first to find a chest that has a 'Glove Orb' in. Head back 1 room and take the Right door, head north again onto the caved area. Take the left path here through the rocks using the axe and then North through the door. In this room it looks like a temple room, head North through the door also.


In this area you need to step on the switches to reveal paths across the gaps, move around the area to the door at the North.. this is the door into the boss, so make sure you are prepared before entering.

BOSS - LIME SLIME: SO! this bosses weakness is Salamando, so switch to Popoi and smash the boss with the Fireball spell. I recommend having the girl cast the fire sword on everyone also for extra melee damage. Once the boss is dead you receive a 'Javelin Orb'.

Move North in this new room to meet the new elemental - Shade. After a conversation you will have him join your party. Now have the main guy examine the seed with the sword to sync the seeds power with your weapon.
GUIDE - LOFTY MOUNTAINS cont... / GOLD ISLE / SOUTHTOWN / GOLD ISLE / GOLD PALACE / KAKKARA DESERT (MOON PALACE)
SUGGESTION - SO! at this point i'd suggest you go and upgrade your weapons with the new orbs you just got in Kakkara, and then level up Popoi's new magic in Gaia's Navel along with the weapons for everyone. That choice i'll leave up to you but know this, shades magic is powerful when levelled up. Once this is done you are ready to move on withe the guide.

Now! back outside the Palace of Darkness, we still need to find Sage Jock, and he wasn't inside the dungeon so maybe he's returned back home. So climb back up the mountain again tacking the Right side stairs, climb to the top (SAVE if the cat is there) and enter into the cave and speak to the guy there again, it turns out Sage Jock has now gone to Gold Isle. Leave the cave, call Flammie and head to the island.

GOLD ISLE: GOLD CITY / GOLD TOWER
Recommended Level: 40+

Okay, this entire city is made of gold, in the bottom left house you can find Watts who can upgrade gear, there's also a shop here that sells new gear that you will at least want to buy 1 of each if you are going after the achievement. I recommend though buying for your party 3x Lazuli Vambrace, 2x Duck Helm, 1x Dragon Helm, 1x Flower Suit, and 2x Battle Suit. From where you land, head directly North into the next area. Head up to the door and you'll see it is locked, exit out and you will see a man on the upper right level, take the stairs on the Left and make your way around to him. Seems the key was stolen by a spy, what spies do we know? hmm..? Call Flammie.

SOUTHTOWN
Recommended Level: 40+
Items To Find: Gold Tower Key.
Monsters: None!

In Southtown, head North-West to the small house, speak to the woman inside, the one who gave you the password for the sewer. It turns out she had the key all along, she hands the Gold Tower Key to you. Head back outside, call Flammie and return back to Gold Isle.

GOLD ISLE: GOLD CITY / GOLD TOWER
Recommended Level: 40+
Items To Find: Boomerang Orb, Axe Orb, Bow Orb.
Monsters: Beast Zombie, Wizard Eye, Weepy Eye, Dark Ninja, Emberman, Blue Spike (Boss), Gorgon Bull (Boss)

Head to the tower door an it will now open considering you have the key, head inside. In the start room, kill the two dogs and open the chest for a Spear Orb, head north, follow the path around to the stairs, prepare yourself for a boss fight, head up them.

BOSS - BLUE SPIKE: This boss is similar to the Spikey Tiger boss you fought. Use long ranged weapons, stay clear of the central open area and use Popoi's magic - Sylphid: Thunderbolt, this works nice here as long as you have it levelled.Once defeated you get a Boomerang Orb.

After the boss dies some stairs appear, head up them, make your way around to the stairs and pick up the chest on the way for an Axe Orb, head upstairs for the next boss fight.

BOSS - GORGON BULL: This boss is similar to the Minotaur you fought a while back, the use of Sylphid magic will make quick work of him, use Thunderbolt like the previous boss. After it is defeated you will get a Bow Orb.

After the boss dies more stairs appear, head on up the to the next floor where you will be at the top of the tower and where the mana seed is located. Walk up to the seed and you are greeted by Lumina, magic for Primm only. Once you have that power, head up and touch the Mana Seed for the sync of power, you can now level magic to level 6. Exit the tower and call Flammie.

LOFTY MOUNTAINS cont...

So, back at these mountains, make your way back up to the cave and speak to the guy again, it seems the sage has now gone to the Moon Palace. Leave the cave, call Flammie, head towards Kakkara Desert, and land in the purple looking area in the North part of the desert.

SUGGESTION - You now might want to go level up your new magics, get your weapons tempered at Watts, and get all the levels up. If anything you should at least max out the Lumina magic, cos that attack spell it has is devastating to monsters and bosses at high levels, it's something you will certainly want to do.

KAKKARA DESERT (MOON PALACE)

You will land in the desert, you will need to head North 1 screen to enter the Moon Palace area. Move North and cross the bridge. on the boat you will be ferried up to the actual Moon Palace location. Off the boat, head across the plank and North into the next area where the palace is located.

GUIDE - MOON PALACE / LOFTY MOUNTAINS cont... / TASNICA / CAVE OF TRIALS
MOON PALACE
Recommended Level: 42+

Monsters: Marmablue.

So, head North and enter into the Palace, first thing you will notice is everywhere is dark and there's no paths. So from the entrance move slightly Right so the entrance moves off screen, and then from there head North until you come to an Orb on a platform. Use Primm's Lumina magic on it to reveal the room. Now head up the stairs.


In the next room head up to the Seed and speak to Luna, you will now gain a new elemental summon. Next examine the seed to receive it's power to your sword and be bale to level you magics to level 7. Now leave the palace, make your way back down to Kakkara Desert, call Flammie, and make your way back to Lofty Mountains.

LOFTY MOUNTAINS cont...

Again, make your way back up the mountain and enter the cave. In here, speak to the guy again and he will tell you Sage Jock has gone off to Tasnica. This will be the last time he tells you he went off somewhere so no more of this 'BS' after this time. Once done, leave the cave and call Flammie.

TASNICA
Recommended Level: 42+
Items To Find: Sword Orb.
Monsters: Dark Stalker (Boss).

Fly West of Lofty Mountains to find Tasnica on the edge of the coast, land there. Head North and enter the castle, Gemma is here and will say the King is in danger, time to explore. SO! Head Right into the next area, you end up outside, head North and enter the castle, you will be up on a walkway, just down on the bottom right a shop will appear here after the boss so make sure you return here after the boss fight. Go down the stairs in this room and enter the door to find the entrance to the Throne Room, enter the door. Prepare yourself for a fight.


Talk to the King and he will think you are a spy and call the guards, Gemma realises the King has no shadow so it must mean he's something else, soon enough the boss battle ensues.

BOSS - DARK STALKER: This boss is easy, just use Lumina's - Lucent Beam on it and it will soon fall. Once the boss is dead, talk to the King to end the battle.

Speak to Gemma, and a scene takes place, and the King will eventually hand over a Sword Orb. Now speak to Gemma again and he says something about discovering what true power is. After all the talking, head South 2 rooms, and make your way Right under the walkway to find a secret shop with some nice gear for sale. REMEMBER to buy at least one of everything for the achievement.


Now make your way to where you landed in the castle and call Flammie, make your way back to Lofty Mountains for the final time, YAY!

Back at the cave, speak to the guy again and he will say the sage is not there but then he will suddenly appear. Talk to the Sage and he says you have to go through some test of courage to get what you need, choose 'YES' and a cave opens up to your left, go SAVE at the cat on the mountain and then enter this new cave.

CAVE OF TRIALS
Recommended Level: 45+
Items To Find: N/A
Monsters: Nitro Pumpkin, Shape Shifter, Marmablue, Rabite, Mimic Box, Eggplant Man, Captain Duck, Needlion, Pumpkin Bomb, Shadow #1, #2, #3 (Boss).

Okay, the monsters in here are pretty tough, they have high evade, hit hard, and most cast Wall on themselves so magic is useless also unless you are quick. This place is pretty straight forward, so make your way around using the axe to break rocks, the whip to jump over gaps and such. IF you come across the hedgehog typoe monster (Needlion) do not engage them, run, they can instantly kill you with one of their attacks. At the end of the cave you'll enter into a new area, to the boss.

BOSS - SHADOW #1, #2, #3: You fight yourself here, they will wield their starting weapons, Sword, Boomerang, and Gloves. These guys can also charge attacks much faster than you can. I'd take out Primm's copy first as she can heal, then Popoi's copy, then lastly Randi's copy. Using magic don't work very well here, best using ranged weapons to stay clear of charge attacks, the Whip weapon works extremely well here. Once defeated leave.

Back at the cave entrance you talk to the idiot who sent you on all those hunting trips, turns out the idiot was Sage Jockstrap all along. It seems something is happening at the Mana Palace so he sends you that way, leave the cave and call Flammie.
GUIDE - MANA PALACE / SUNKEN CONTINENT / UNDERGROUND CITY
SUGGESTION - At this point I highly recommend you go level up you weapons and magic levels to max if possible, certainly make them level 5+, you will need it high for the next part of the game. You should get the best equipment to this point at Gold Isle, this is something you will NEED to do as a few boss battles coming up in the next area.

NOTE: See equipment section for missable items in the locations below.

MANA PALACE
Recommended Level: 47+
Items To Find: Spear Orb.
Monsters: Aegagropilon (Boss).

Out on Flammie, head to Gaia's Navel and from there head a little East to find the Tree Palace that was once sunken, land there, and once ready head on in. A scene takes place between you and a few bad guys, they make their exit and leave you with a present, a Boss Fight!

BOSS - AEGAGROPILON: This boss is easy, just use charged attacks on him, heal when needed, don't use magic on the boss, it will get repelled back to you. When the boss dies you will receive a Spear Orb.

Okay, head Left and up the stairs to where the Mana Seed is located. Search the seed to start off a cutscene where you will eventually get the elemental - Dryad to join you. You will then call Flammie and see another scene where the sunken continent is raised from underneath the Mana Palace. Once you are ready, head back down to the Mana Palace.

MANA PALACE / SUNKEN CONTINENT / UNDERGROUND CITY
Recommended Level: 48+
Items To Find: Boomerang Orb, Whip Orb.
Monsters: Dark Knight, Shape Shifter, Captain Duck, Metal Crawler, Eggplamt Man, Mimic Box, Rabite, Dinofish, Steelpion, Marmablue, Kimono Wizard, Basilisk, Eggatrice, Hydra (Boss).

Okay, when you land speak to Gemma, now head all the way down the stairs, at the bottom you have two choices, take the stairs on the Left, the Right stairs lead to a dead end. Follow the path around until you find a door that leads down underground.


Head left across the water, step on yellow bug thing and it will spring you up to the next level, head Right to get the chest that has a Boomerang Orb in. You can use the axe to clear the area of those small annoying crystals, once got the chest head through the door just to the Left. In this room make your way North through all the stone stuff and then West to the waterfall, push against the water and hug the Left side wall as you are dragged down, hit the red switch you see on the way to stop the water.


Once the water is stopped, head back North and then head West to another waterfall, push Left so you don't fall off at the bottom, you will walk onto a ledge. Head Left to yet another waterfall, again push on the Right wall this time as you move down and hit the switch again. Once the water has stopped head up to the door, prepare yourself, heal, and then enter for a Boss Fight.

BOSS - HYDRA: This boss is super easy, just use magic attacks on him, Salamando's - Fireball. Heal when needed, when the boss dies you will receive a Whip Orb.

After the fight a scene plays out between you and a few of the bad guys, Fanha offers to take you out but she's refused, they use some type of blind spell and make their escape. Head up the stairs and enter the door to a new location - Underground City.

UNDERGROUND CITY
Recommended Level: 49+
Items To Find: Bow Orb.
Monsters: Captain Duck, Metal Crawler, Steelpion, Fierce Head, Grave bat, Kimono Wizard, Dark Knight, Shapeshifter, Beast Zombie, Dark Stalker, Ghoul, Kettle Kin (Boss).

Head down the steps in this new room, then in this room head Right and then exit out to the South. In this area, head Left and then South to the escalator, take the right side to head down further in this room. Now head back up the escalator on the other side pushing against the Left wall to find a secret room with a switch in, step on it to open the door that's to the South.


Head on South in this area and pass through where the door was blocking you, now head Right and you will come to a door, this leads into a rest room, where you can heal HP, and also Watts is in here who can upgrade your weapons. Talk to the Knight at the back and he will give you a Passcode - Red-Blue-Yellow-Green. Once done, exit the room and head Right, then North and enter the door here.


In this room head Left, and take the South exit out, it's slightly lit up. In this new room, take the escalator going up, drop down off the little ledge, and head North-East, following the path around. You will see a blocked door, and only 1 way to go, so head that way. Step on the switch than head back to the locked door you just seen, it's now open.
GUIDE - UNDERGROUND CITY cont... / THE GRAND PALACE
Head up this new passage, follow the passage around and drop down off the little ledge. You will see 4 yellow tiles in this room, stand in the middle of them all to open the door, head on in the new room.


Follow the path around this room, and then exit out the other end, in this area, drop down off the ledge and move onward. You will come to a room t hat has 4 coloured panels on the wall, blinking. Press them in this order.. Red-Blue-Yellow-Green, the door just below you will open, head on through it to the next area.


In this room, follow it around to find a switch just by a ledge, you should recognise the area below this ledge, you've been there before. Step on the switch and then drop down off the ledge, follow the path all the way right to the switch you pressed ages ago, the door just below it is now open. Follow the path onward to a room with more escalators in, head down it and exit to a new room.


In here, it's like a subway of sorts, follow the room around and you will come to a train, head on through the door. Make your way through the train killing the Ghouls, and at the end exit out the door to a new location. Continue South in this area, you will see two 'H' walls and a locked door, run through the Right 'H' to open the door. Follow the path down dropping off two ledges, go up the steps and exit out the door.

BOSS - KETTLE KIN: This boss is easy if you have your magics levelled, use Lumina - Lucent Beam, or Sylphid - Air Blast. Make sure you stay on top of healing also, this guy can hit hard and cause a party wipe. Once dead you will get the Bow Orb.

After the scene that plays out with the Scorpion Army guys and Leader, they run off scared, Ha! Ha! After they run for it you follow them outside, you are now back at the Mana Palace. Follow the grassy path around but don't head up the stairs, instead head to the door a little more to the Left. This will take you to The Grand Palace, so if you want to top up items, level/upgrade weapons, etc, go do that now.

THE GRAND PALACE
Recommended Level: 50+
Items To Find: Sword Orb.
Monsters: Heck Hound, Howler, Beast Zombie, Turtlance, Doom Sword, Gremlin, National Scar, Imp, Marmablue.

Okay, head forward and go through the door at the back of the room, walk up the stairs and go in the door on the right. There is an Orb in this room, cast Undine - Freeze on it and then go back to the previous room. Now head all the way to the Left and enter the door here, there's another Orb, cast Gnome - Diamond Missile on it. Now head back to the first room of the entire palace.


Head up the stairs either on the Left or Right, then take the stairs up again to the next floor. Use the whip to jump over to the platform and then use the whip again to jump over to the Left side. There's two doors here North and South. Go through the North door first, cast Sylphid - Air Blast on the Orb, then exit out and head through the South door. In here, ignore the stairs for a second and go through the Right door to find another Orb, cast Salamando - Fireball. Head back two rooms and head up the stairs to the 3rd floor.


You will see a closed Caged door in front of you, ignore that for now but remember it, head Left and then Down through a door. Enter the new door on your Left, and cast Lumina - Lucent Beam on the Orb here. Exit, and open the chest that's in the middle of the room for a Sword Orb. Now enter the far right room and use Shade - Dark Force on the Orb, then exit and take the arch exit just to the Left of Shade's room door.


Head up the stairs and follow the path that will take you back downstairs to the 1st room that had a closed barred gate, the switch is just by you, hit it to open the gate. Now head back around and enter the gate you just opened. Head up the stairs and you will now be on another floor of the Grand Palace.


In this room, head to the North-West corner of this room, go down the steps, and follow the path around the edge of the room to find another set of stairs, take these up to the next floor. Step on the switch to the North-West of you, then step on the switch just below you. Head South of this switch and use the Whip to jump over the gap.


Enter the door to your Left, use Luna - MP Drain on the Orb to make it open something. Now head back to where you stood on two switches and repeat the process on the Right side of the room to find another room with 1 switch in it, step on it and the way North appears. This leads you to a Boss Fight in that area. which now so happens to be The Mana Palace.

GUIDE - THE MANA PALACE cont... / THE PURE LAND
THE MANA PALACE cont...
Recommended Level: 50+
Items To Find: Javelin Orb, Whip Orb, Spear Orb.
Monsters: Snap Dragon (Boss), Hexa (Boss), Mech Rider 3 (Boss).

BOSS - SNAP DRAGON: This boss is stupid easy as long as you don't get trapped and eaten, just throw a few Salamando - Fireball magics at it and it will fall super quick. Once it is dead you will receive a Javelin Orb.

Okay, if you exit out South of the middle of this room it leads outside, so this is now a shortcut, so go level weapons with Watts, top up items, and SAVE then come back to this room. Once you are back head Left and up the stairs. On the platform is the Emperor, he's been betrayed, head North through the door. You now are plunged into another Boss Fight.

BOSS - HEXA: This boss has no elemental weakness BUT if you have levelled your magic enough it will do substantial damage at level 7 around 300 per spell. This cow will constantly shrink your characters also, so glad we got the Midge Mallet to use if she does. Once she is defeated you will get a Whip Orb.

After the fight head through the North door and step on the switch there, you are teleported to a room where you now have to do another boss fight with an old enemy.

BOSS - MECH RIDER 3: This boss is still as pathetic as it's other 2 counterparts, just have Primm cast Sylphid - Thunder Saber on everyone, also Boost, and use charge attacks on him. DO NOT cast direct magic onto the boss, he repels it. Once the boss is dead you get a Spear Orb.

After the fight the continent starts to sink once again, you run out, call Flammie, and take to the skies, the continent then sinks into the ocean again. Once this is done, land back onto the Mana Palace, speak to Gemma, and the other NPCs around the place. You will also find a new store here that sells some pretty awesome gear, make sure to buy at least one of each for the achievement.


When you are ready, go upgrade your weapons, rest, stock up on items and SAVE. Head to Moon Palace location on the world map, and from there head slightly North to find the uncovered volcano that's the entrance to The Pure Land, enter.

THE PURE LAND
Recommended Level: 55+
Items To Find: Axe Orb, Bow Orb, Javelin Orb, Glove Orb, Sword Orb, Boomerang Orb.
Monsters: Griffin Hand, Needlion, Mushgloom, Ice Bandit, Dragon Worm (Boss), Ghost, Snow Dragon (Boss), Eggplant Man, Rabite, Axe Beak (Boss), Red Dragon (Boss), Thunder Gigas (Boss), Blue Dragon (Boss).

This place is a series of sections that each have a boss in to fight. A select few of the monsters here drop chests containing Armor that you will not be able to get otherwise, if you are going for the achievement then I suggest you make sure you get at least one of each of them before leaving the Pure Land because once you reach the end of the area you wont be able to revisit it, effectively making the items missable.

From start, head North a screen.. in here is Griffin Hand, it drops a Griffin Helm, be sure to get one before continuing as it's one of the missable helms, this is the best location to farm it, in this section. Gnome Magic works great on the Griffin Hands. When ready, exit out to the North to find Ice Bandit in this area. Ice bandit will drop another missable item - Dragon Coil, but wait to farm that one until the cave area coming up. When ready, head up the Right waterfall and move North-West to the cave for a Boss Fight.

BOSS - DRAGON WORM: This boss is just about the same as the great Viper boss you fought. This one will attempt to balloon you and petrify also but as long as you are geared from NEKO at the Mana Palace then you should be fine. This boss is weak against Sylphid so use Air Blast. Once the boss is dead you will get an Axe Orb.

Head North to exit, East leads to a dead end but it has 3x Ghost in there, this monster drops the missable item - Imp's Ring. I'd suggest getting 3 of them, as it protects against Frost and Burn. If you need to top up Popoi's MP then in the previous room from the Ghosts use Luna - Magic Absorb on all monsters, instead of a Walnut.


In the room from the Ghost head North to find Gate #1, move up to it and it will tell you to defeat the Snow Dragon, before pressing on, it will then offer to SAVE. Save your game and exit to the Left. Make your way through this snowy looking area and exit to the North-West to the Boss Fight.

BOSS - SNOW DRAGON: This boss can be a pain in the ass if you haven't levelled your magics, cos lets face it.. this is the best way to kill most bosses. This boss is weak to Salamando - Fireball magic. Once dead you will gain a Bow Orb.

Head back to the gate, SAVE, then in the new area head North into another new area. In this area you have a cave to your Right and you can also exit to the North-West, if you enter the North-West screen and also come back a screen these two areas will have 'Eggtplant Man' in them, these monsters drop a missable item - Watcher Ring, There is one Eggplant Man in the cave also just before the 3rd Boss Room. When you are ready enter the Boss room in the cave.

THE PURE LAND cont...
Recommended Level: 55+
Items To Find: Axe Orb, Bow Orb, Javelin Orb, Glove Orb, Sword Orb, Boomerang Orb.
Monsters: Griffin Hand, Needlion, Mushgloom, Ice Bandit, Dragon Worm (Boss), Ghost, Snow Dragon (Boss), Eggplant Man, Rabite, Axe Beak (Boss), Red Dragon (Boss), Thunder Gigas (Boss), Blue Dragon (Boss).

BOSS - AXE BEAK: This boss is just a recolour of the Sprite Village Boss - Spring Beak. This boss is weak to water based magic so use Undine's - Freeze on it. Once the boss is dead you will receive a Javelin Orb.

Okay, head up the stairs that appeared upon the death of chicken dinner and exit out to the new area. Follow the cave to outside and then exit to the North. You will come to yet another gate, examine it to SAVE, then exit to the Left. In the cave is the 4th Boss Room, so prepare yourself and then enter.

BOSS - RED DRAGON: This boss is just a recolour of the previous dragon boss you fought but with different attacks and weakness, use Undine's - Freeze magic on it to make quick work of it. Once the boss falls you will receive a Glove Orb, at last.

SO! head back to gate, SAVE, and head on through it. Head up the little ramp and exit out to the North-West. In this screen exit to the East through the trees. In this area move on a little and just up the stairs you have a path choice, Left, or Right, take the path leading Right. This next screen, head up the water and on this upper ledge exit out to the Left. You will now be at a 3-way path choice, Left loops back around, so head up to meet the 5th Boss.

BOSS - THUNDER GIGAS: This boss is just a recolour of the fire and frost bosses you fought but with different attacks and weakness, use Gnome's - Earth Slide magic to make quick work of it. Once the boss falls you will receive a Sword Orb.

Okay, exit out to the North of the boss area. In this area head up the small mountain path and exit out to the North where you will find yet another gate. SAVE at the gate and then exit out to the Left of the gate. In this area head North to the Boss Fight area.

BOSS - BLUE DRAGON: This boss is just a recolour of the other dragon bosses, as with Thunder Gigas, this boss is also weak against earth based magics so use Gnome - Earth Slide, and keep up with the healing using Primm, just attack normally with Randi. Once the boss is defeated you will receive a Boomerang Orb.

Once defeated, head back to the gate, SAVE and head on through for the last time. A scene plays out and then a nice CGI cutscene introduces you to The Mana Tree and fills in a few blanks about Randi's past. Your sword is resync'd to all the Mana Seeds that you previously lost. When ready, call Flammie and prepare yourself for the last area of the game - The Mana Fortress.

FINAL CHECKS & INFO
Here's a few final checks before heading off to the final area.

1. Go to Watts and upgrade your weapons.
2. Level the weapons to highest they can go in Gaia's Navel.
3. Level Magics in Gaia's Navel.

At this point you should be lvl 70+ after all the grinding for missable equipment, The Pure Land is a great place for levels.

All the other Mana Seeds are now found within The Mana Fortress, got from off the Bosses and also as chest drops off specific monsters, these are Orbs that will take the weapons to level 9, their final, and most powerful forms.

GUIDE - THE MANA FORTRESS
THE MANA FORTRESS
Recommended Level: 60+ (Though chances are you'll be 70+ after The Pure Land)
Items To Find: Level 7, 8, & 9 Weapon Orbs but these are dropped from monsters.
Monsters: Captain Duck, Fiend Head, Dark Stalker, Kimono Wizard, Metal Crawler, Whimper, Metal Crab, Tsunami, Turtlance, Heck Hound, Howler, Beast Zombie, Wolf Lord, National Scar, Imp, King Vampire (Boss), Mimic, Basilisk, Dread Slime (Boss), Mace Menace, Dark Knight, Dark Lich (Boss), Mana Beast (Boss).

NOTE 1: To enter The Mana Fortress look for it flying about in the sky and just fly on over to it, if you are aligned correctly with it as you close in, you will fly into it automatically. DO NOT forget to check what the monsters are that drop the hidden equipment items for the achievement. Monsters can drop Orbs also, I got my last 2 remaining Axe Orbs off 'Fiend Head', a Spear Orbs off 'Tsunami', two Glove Orb off 'Wolf Lord'.

NOTE 2: You have more than likely missed 1 NPC in the character book, the very bottom one, this is Pecard, he can be found at the top of the lighthouse at Lighthouse Isle.


Once you have landed, Head North to the door, you will find a Fiend Head here that has a missable item on it for Primm and Popoi - Vampire Cape, enter the Fortress. In this room is Whimper, this monster has a missable item on it for Randi, Power Suit. Whimper also drops Javelin Orbs. The Metal Crabs in this room also drop Bow Orbs. You can skip between the two rooms if you wish for these two items. Head North into the next room


In this room you'll need to use the Whip to jump over the gaps, Tsunami monster in here also has a missable item - Amulet Ring, it also drops Spear Orbs. You step on the pink switch to make the bridge appear to head into the next room. IF you kill the two Turtlance, the Tsunami will multiply, this makes farming it easier. Head into the next room, and then north into the next room again. In this room is 'Wolf Lord', he has the hidden item - Faerie's Ring for Randi, Primm, and Popoi, this is the best ring for all three but takes a while to drop. He also drops Glove Orbs.


Exit to the North and into the new section from this 'Wolf Lord' room. In this room use the axe to get through the crystals blocking you, step on the pink switch, head right and step on the next switch, then use the Whip to head Left over the gap, the 'National Scar' enemy here drops another missable item - Amulet Helm, the best helm for Primm and Popoi. Follow this room to the South from the book enemy and exit out.


In this next room use the Whip and jump over the gaps to the South, and enter the door to the South. In this room is a 'National Scar' and two 'Doom Sword' monsters, kill the swords for a missable item - Guardian Ring. If you have 3x Faerie Rings equipped then this ring is useless, but you'll need to get at least 1 for the achievement. Head South into the next room. Step on the two switches to continue on South to the next room.


Make your way West through this room, striking at the blue crystals blocking your path to get to the door, head North out of this room. In this room, step on the switch, head West then South into a new room. Use the Whip to jump over the gap, head Left and then North into another room. Step on the switch in here to be teleported to the Boss room, so prepare yourself before entering.

BOSS - KING VAMPIRE: This boss is just like Vampire, he'll jump around the screen and go up into the air so you can't melee him. Primm's Lumina - Lucent Beam will devastate this boss if you have it levelled up. Once the boss is defeated you will not receive any Orb unfortunately so just head North and exit out to Floor 2 of The Mana Fortress.

On this next floor, take the right side door and at the path choice of either going Up or Right, go Right, and then at the next path choice head Up. use the Whip to jump across the gap to head into a new area. Head Right at this path choice, and then Up into a new room. Follow this winding path around and exit on the East side going Down. There's a monster in this windy path room, Basilisk, this green lizard type monster drops the missable item - Cockatrice Cap for everyone.


In the next room step on the pink switch to make a bridge appear, cross it, heading South and step on the green switch for the next Boss Fight!

BOSS - DREAD SLIME: This boss is similar to Lime Slime, but this one grows in size instead of shrinking. This boss is weak to Shade - Dark Force, so have Popoi spam that on the boss whilst Primm heals, and Randi melees. Once the boss is dead, you receive nothing, but appear on floor 3 of The Mana Fortress.

NOTE: This 3rd floor, it's pretty straight forward, it's a few large rooms of new monsters that have the last of the Weapon Orbs and missable items, Mace Menace holds the Whip Orb and Faerie Crown, and Master Ninja holds the Boomerang Orb and Faerie Cloak, be sure to get them for the achievement.

SO! Move North and enter into the next room, you'll find one Master Ninja here, so going back and forth between the North door of this room quick spawns the monster for fast farming for it's items. When you are ready, in the next room you'll come across the Mace Menace enemy, so do the same here as you did for the monster in the previous room until you have the Weapon Orb and Faerie Crowns.


GUIDE - THE MANA FORTRESS cont...
NOTE: At this point you should now have upgraded 7 of 8 weapons to MAX, the Mana Sword is upgraded when you use the unlocked spell of Dryad after defeating Dark Lich.

Once done, move North into the next room, Move West and jump over the gap using the Whip, then exit to the South. Follow the path Left and then North into a large room. In here, make your way around to the West and then head South out the door. In t his room head West and then exit to the North. Once again, make your way around to the West side and then exit to the South. Make your way around the winding path and exit once again to the South.


In this next room, just head South and exit into the next room. In here cross the bridge heading South and head into the next room. In this next room is 3x Master Ninja and 3x Mace Menace monsters, head East through the blue crystals and North through the door. In the middle of this room is a green teleport tile, this takes you to the room where you fought 'Mech Rider 3' a while back. Head Right and step on the green teleport tile to fight the last but one Boss after the cutscene.

BOSS - DARK LICH: This boss is yet another easy boss fight, it's pretty pathetic really for one of the final bosses, just spam it with Lumina - Lucent Beam. Once he is defeated you won't gain any Orbs or anything but you will however unlock Dryad's final spell that unlocks the level 9 Mana Sword effect.

Achievement: All Weapons To Level 9 / Complete The Guide - Once the scene plays out and you can control your characters again, use Primm's and Popoi's Dryad magic sword buffs to unlock The Mana Sword and get the 2 achievements - All Weapons to Level 9, and Complete the Guide.


Okay, Exit to the South, a scene plays out and the final battle begins.

BOSS - MANA BEAST: This boss is easy also, cast Dryad's sword spells on Randi to get the Mana Sword powered up. Then wait until the boss comes down from the top pf the screen next to the platform, then swipe away with your sword. You WILL however get hit by a couple of it's attacks, no helping that.. just stay on top of healing.

Once the boss falls, the game's ending credits roll, congratulations you have finished Secret of Mana (Remake). I'll leave most of the ending pictures out for you to see yourself. Be sure to watch right up to the end, past the staff credits also for a couple more extra scenes.
CHARACTERS (PLAYABLE)
Below is an introduction to the main characters of the game with some information about each for you to enjoy.

RANDI

AGE: 16.

Seemingly abandoned at the Village of Potos by his mother, (for reasons unknown), he is then taken in and cared for by the village Elder. Randi's story starts with the accidental pulling of an old sword found at the bottom of a waterfall after falling down it.

When pulling the sword Randi unwittingly releases ancient monsters into the surrounding areas of Potos. The villagers of Potos are not happy with what Randi has done and calls for the Elder to banish him from the village, with no other options.. the elder does just that.

Randi's adventure starts with the knowledge that he has to visit someone called Sage Luka at The Water Palace, located some miles away from Potos Village, so he heads forward on his journey to become a Knight of Mana, the fabled Hero that is called forth when the world is in danger.

With General Dyluck out on a mission to capture a witch named Elinee, Purim heads out to find him but somehow gets caught up in a comical situation with Randi. Running off after helping him out, you soon find her again in a spot of bother in The Haunted Forests around Elinee's Castle.

After her rescue, she decides to throw herself into your party deciding that she will need your help to progress further in getting to her true love, Dyluck, which turns out to be MORE than what she bargained for.

POPOI

Currently a resident of the Dwarf Village, this little fella has no clue who he is, where he is from, or even how he got to the Dwarf Village. It seems that the Elder Dwarf took this little guy in and saved his life after a great flood washed him away from his village in The Upperland Forest and washed him into Gaia's Navel.

Randi meets this little fella after being scammed into giving his gold away but then after saving the Dwarf Village, Popoi decides to join Randi on his journey to get his memory back and find out who he is and get home. With moments of memory gain and memory loss.. Popoi's journey will be an interesting one, but sometimes things are best left secret and never discovered.

SPECIAL ITEMS

Flammie Drum: Enables you to call Flammie, your flying travel mount for the game. This item is got off King truffle as you progress through the story in Matango, after he saves you.



Magic Rope: Return your character to the entrance of most dungeons, infinite use. Can't be bought or sold. Found in a chest the first time through Gaia's Navel Caves, in a single room guarded by two Goblins.



Minor Mallet (Midge Mallet): Can make Randi, Popoi, or Primm tiny, can also reverse small status. Can be got by heading to the Elder in Dwarf Village before heading to the Upperlands for the first time, otherwise you need to wait until much later in the game to get it.


Moogle Belt: Can turn Randi, Popoi, or Primm into a Moogle, can also reverse the effect of Moogle status. After obtaining the Flammie Drum, call him and fly to Turtle Shell Isle and land there and get a Sea Hare's Tail off the NPC. Take this item to Kakkara town and hand it over to the old man stood by the dried up well, water returns to the desert town. The Moogle Belt will be given to you as a reward.

WEAPONS & EFFECTS
Each weapon you gain throughout your journey has 9 different forms you can upgrade them to. Each form can be set in the Action menu, this will enable your automated characters to charge them up and use the weapon's special skill. Each weapon are set into a specific category these are as follows: Melee or Ranged, there are NO magical type weapon, unless you class the Mana Sword as magical, but as it's a sword it will be classed as melee for my guide.

Achievement: Get all weapons to level 9. You need to find every Weapon Orbs and upgrade them to level 9, including the Mana Sword. Check the Weapon Orbs Locations section below on where to find them all.

MELEE TYPE WEAPONS


AXES
Axes are much slower than most weapons but can be more powerful, so timing hits right can be tricky. Axes can be used to remove stalagmites in caves, and remove other obstacles such as pillars that may block paths. The Axe is first obtained when you meet Watts and defeat Tropicallo in the Dwarf Village.


The upgrade orb name stages and effects are as follows:

1. Watt's Axe.
2. Lode Axe - More damage against Plant and Fish types.
3. Stout Axe - Adds +2 Constitution.
4. Battle Axe - More damage against Plant and Fish types.
5. Pyrite Axe - More damage on Insect types.

GLOVES
Gloves have the shortest range of the melee type weapons, thus results in being in danger of taking more damage if you don't move about more. At very close range you can often grab the enemy and throw them over your shoulder to your opposite side causing damage, doing this tho can sometimes result in the enemy counterattacking the throw with an attack of their own. The gloves do not hit multiple enemies at once. The gloves are obtained when Primm joins your party, they come with her.

1. Spiked Knuckle.
2. Power Glove - More damage on insect types.
3. Moogle Claws - Can put enemies to sleep.
4. Chakra Hand - Adds +2 Intelligence/Wisdom.

Spears are slow at attacking, slower than swords, but they too can hit multiple enemies at once, because of its longer range you are slightly more safer than using swords. The first spear can be obtained once you reach The Water Palace for the first time where it is gifted to you off Luka.

SWORDS
Swords are the most powerful of all the weapon you will get in the game, especially for Randi, as he can't use magic. The sword can be used to cut through bushes and flowers that block your path in areas and can hit multiple enemies at once. The sword has short range for attacking so can cause some problem with a few enemies when up close. The first sword is obtained at the beginning of the game. This weapon is used for the end boss so I recommend to keep it levelled as much as possible.

WHIPS
Whips have the longest reach of any of the weapons you will get in the game but because of this reach, you are sacrificing the width of attacks, thus making it harder to hit multiple enemies at once and attacking is slow. The Whip can be used also to jump over gaps and caverns in dungeons by attaching itself to spikes and poles on the other side of a location. The Whip is obtained after defeating Elinee's pet - Spikey Tiger in her castle, located in The haunted Forest.

1. Leather Whip.
2. Black Whip - Causes Slow effect on the enemy.
3. Backhand Whip - Adds +1 Agility.

Could be worth noting there are missable monsters. I somehow never fought Ma Goblin which is apparently summoned by something in the Underground Palace? I had no idea monsters would be missable or even summon only. Not the guide's fault - bad game design. Hopefully this comment saves someone else the annoyance that I'm going to have now when I finish this game and end up with 35/37...

Updating: it's a game bug. I managed to enter the blacksmith's room by switching from fullscreen to windowed mode.

Could someone help me? I'm following this guide and I've reached the DWARF VILLAGE. However, for some reason, WATTS hasn't shown up. I can't even enter his shop. Has anyone else experienced this? Did I perhaps miss something? Thanks in advance.+

You forgot to list the monsters for the Palace of Darkness section. The following regular monsters appear there: Grave Bat, Imp, Emberman, Dark Ninja, Fierce Head, and Dark Knight. None of these monsters are exclusive to this dungeon,though, and you will still have another chance to defeat them in a later dungeon.

@Bearzy NP! lol it happens. Glad the guide is helping you and thanks for the kind words. This was one of my fav games on the super nintendo, was so happy when they decided to do a near perfect remake, so naturally.. I just HAD to do a guide for it.

Oops. I did miss that. Apologies. Also as I get further into the game, I do see you mention in several places to "Level them up if you want". Anyways, it's been a huge help so far. The only time I had trouble was against the Wall Face boss, I didn't save any MP for the fight and got pushed into the spike pit :MHRISE_anger: Lesson learned! Now I read ahead a little just in case. Thanks for writing all this up. :MHRISE_OK:
