1. Disclaimer
For all that Steam does for us by backing up our game progress to the cloud, it isn't perfect, and some things slip through the cracks. Maybe you just got a new computer, and you just noticed that OLDTV is acting like you've never played it before. Well, I did some digging and found something very curious about how the game stores you saved data. Most importantly, I discovered how to retrieve this data and transfer it to other machines. There are some limitations that I must get out of the way first:
  • The save data is stored as registry keys. Registry keys control some of the most fundamental parts of your operating system, so you should never modify registry keys unless you know what you are doing. Improperly modifying registry keys can cause your operating system to become unstable or fail. You have been warned!
  • You will require administrator access to access your registry keys
  • You will never be able to sync your progress between two computers, you will have to manually transfer the save data yourself.
Again, I take no responsibility for any damage you might cause to your computer or files.
2. Accessing your save data
First, you're going to want to open the Registry Editor. This is part of Windows, you do not need to download anything. You should be able to find it by searching for it:

You can also use 'Run' (Win+R) to open the Registry Editor by typing 'regedit'

You will be prompted for adminstrative access. Click 'yes' and the registry editor should open.

Finally, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Credibility\V

This is the set of registry keys that make up your save data. Now that we have found them, we're ready to start creating a backup.
3. Creating/Loading a Backup
Right-click on the 'V' folder and select export.

Name the file whatever you want and place it somewhere you will remember it. Congratulations, you've created a backup of your save data.

If you're looking to transfer your save data to another computer, place the file on a USB flash-drive and insert it into the secondary computer.

I highly recommend creating a system restore point before proceeding to load the backup. You can create a system restore point in the control panel.

To load the backup, simply open the file by double-clicking it, or right-click and select 'Merge'.

You will be prompted multiple times to ensure you know what your're doing. Accept all the prompts that come up until it succeeds.

And that's it! If anything goes wrong, you should be able to load the system restore point you created earlier. Hope this was able to help you guys out.
