[1.4] The Golden Scythe and the Reaper Cave

How to find the Golden Scythe in the new 1.4 Update.

Where to find the Golden Scythe:

NOTE: FINDING THE GOLDEN SCYTHE REQUIRES COMPLETING THE COMMUNITY CENTER BUNDLE/JOJA MART COMMUNITY UPGRADE FOR THE QUARRY.

The Cave is right north of the bridge to the Quarry area. Which is only available after the Quarry is open.

Inside you'll see a small cave room with a warning and a hole to climb down.

I recommend you have a good sword/boot combo before entering. I had the Space boots and the Galaxy sword while entering and I did more than fine.

Navigating the Cave:

The Cave is fairly easy to navigate, with few branching paths. You basically have to head north, it's hard to get wrong.

First enemies you'll encounter are the Slimes most likely.
Brown and Grey slimes are seemingly unique to this cave, they tend to drop all the usual slime drops but also drop ores more frequently too, making them great for farming. They are the most vicious of all the slimes bar the skull mine iridium slimes.

Second you'll most likely encounter the Skulls.
They're an enemy unique to the Reaper Cave.
The Flying skulls have the usual flying enemy pattern, they will go down in two swings of the Galaxy Sword. But if you're not careful their large numbers can overwhelm you as they do take a nice chip of damage on each him. The skulls tend to drop nice loot as well with a mixture of light and dark essences.

The enemies respawn each time you enter the cavern (daily), they have great loot for pre-skull cavern enemies. Making this a quick loot run rather than heading into the mines.

The Reward:

At the end is the Reaper Statue.
All you need to do it use it.
Then you get the Golden Scythe!

REMEMBER TO USE THE REAPER AFTER GETTING THE SCYTHE

You don't even need to worry about going back the way you came, as the reaper is now a teleport.
Even if you re-visit the cave you can always use the reaper, which will teleport you back to the entrance.

they actually do occur on certain levels now.
I found this out. It's a new type of floor too. That resembled the Reaper Cavern.

It has better range in the swing. I think it's 1-2 tiles more.
And I know for a fact it gives more hay from grass.

Be careful though. Lewis won't give it back to you if you lose it or trash it.
It's one and done!

thanks for this,I found this cave and got..well WRECKED,and its going to be a while until I am able to play again but were curiouse about what the cave had to offer,tried to hold myself to enjoy it by myself but..we all know that didn't work out becouse ...Im here,thanks,Ill go get it as soon as I can!!!
BTW:Is it visual or does it have any effect on the scythe???
