This game was created by Tachyawn (aka Dani) on November 30, 2019 using Windows 10. There are no plans to update it.

What is Syberia?

Basics
  • You can press "Esc" or click the right mouse button (RMB) to skip dialogue or cutscenes.
  • Absolutely make sure you save often. This game does not autosave for you. I recommend you save every 15-20 minutes. My game crashed three times while I was creating this guide. You'll want a recent save.

Main Menu
  • Press 'New Game' to start a new game from scratch. This will erase all game saves you have on file, so only select this when you first start playing.
  • In the 'Options' menu, you can adjust graphics settings. I recommend setting the graphics quality to 'High' and check the 'Anti-Aliasing' box.
  • In the 'Options' menu, you can adjust the volume of the music and dialogue.

Gameplay
  • Your cursor will change based on what actions you can do. You'll see a Magnifying Glass when you can inspect something closer or talk to someone, a Glowing Circle when you can have Kate walk to a new area, and a Hand when you can pick something up.
  • To open your inventory, document window (called the Personal File), and menu, click "Esc" or RMB.
  • You can click your Cell Phone in the inventory to dial numbers or to call your office, your mom, your friend Olivia, or your fiance Dan.
  • Click the document icon in your inventory to view or use documents. Make sure you click the eyeball button to view a document, and the hand button to use it. You can then click something on the screen to use the document with it.

The Voralberg Estate
Now we need to get a few things before we can join Oscar on the train. Namely, we need to find the Mammoth Toy Anna mentioned in her letter, as well as the other Voice Cylinders she mentioned.

Exit the factory and follow the path back to the fountain. Take the right path to the Voralberg estate. Go forward once, then follow the path around the right of the house.

Go back to Momo and click “Help.” He’ll try to push the device, too, but breaks it. Take the Broken Lever.

Go back to the rotting boat. Use the Broken Lever and click on the oar. Kate is too dainty to pick it up, so you’ll need to go back to Momo and click “Help” to get him to carry the oar.

Follow him and click “Help” again, and he’ll open the dam.

Go back to where Momo was standing, and click up to go across the stream bed. Go into the cave, going forward until you can’t anymore. Take the Mammoth Toy Doll.

Click the needle in the Blood Sample Apparatus (don’t remove it) to have Kate give a blood sample.

Click the second-from-left button. Click the left-most button to raise the capsule again. Click the third-from-left button to send the capsule (and Boris) in circles. Boris will then enter the rocket.

After he radios you, click the rightmost button to commence the countdown. Boris will throw a crank off the platform before getting into the rocket again.

Use the Airship
Exit the control room, and go left. Take the Crank handle, near the boxes on the left side of the screen.

Before we can take off, we need to get rid of those pesky birds!

Go down, then left, then left back down the stairs again. Go up the stairs underneath the red light. Go forward, past the bird.

Use the Crank Handle on the megaphone device. Soyous, the hawk, will scare off the birds around the airship.

Go all the way back to the airship.

Once inside the airship, click the lever next to the automaton pilot to fly to Aralbad.
Aralbad
Exit the airship. Walk down the stairs, then forward again. You’ll receive a call from your boss. After you hang up, walk left into the Hotel Kronsky. You’ll automatically start talking to the hotel receptionist, Felix Smetana. Go through all the dialogue options.

Exit the dialogue and go down twice. Click the door to the left of the large gate. Take the Detergent. Go back outside the hotel. Use the detergent on the fountain. Bubbles everywhere!

Go back inside the hotel lobby, then click the closed curtains to open them. Go to the main desk and click the bell near the lamp to call Felix over to you. He’ll see the bubbly fountain and rush outside to clean it up.

Find Helena Romanski
While he’s outside, go behind the main desk. Click on the area near the book at the front desk.

Take the Kronsky Hotel brochure and read through it. Note the red number: 46433643. Click on the open registry. You’ll see a “Helena Romanski” is still staying at the hotel. Note her resident code: 1270. Also note Hans’ name in the book, and his resident code: 1478.

Exit out of this view, then click the small red button on the edge of the desk.

Go back to the main lobby, then go down and left, then through the gate.

Go left, around the pool, then click on the automaton, James, attached to a wheelchair. Go through the dialogue options.

Exit the dialogue. Go down to exit the closeup, then to the right. Click on the panel next to the gate leading outside. Enter the number assigned to Helena: 1270. Pull the lever. No luck.

Click the arrow button to clear the numbers. Try Hans’ number: 1478. Pull the lever. Still no luck.

Exit out of this screen and go down again. Go straight through the doorway opposite the pool.

Take the Crystal Dish at the end of the hallway. Go back to the pool.

Go right, around the other side of the pool, and go through the gate underneath the seahorse. Take the card laying on the floor of this small room. Note the code: 0968.

Go all the way back to the gate, near James the automaton.

Click on the gate panel and enter the numbers: 0968. Pull the lever and the gate will open. Go into the gate and take the Gas Mask, which Kate will automatically put on.

Go outside. Walk forward, down the pier, until you reach the covered pavillion. Enter the pavillion and click on the woman with the gas mask.

Convince Helena to Sing
Click down to go exit the pavilion. Felix will interrupt and yell at you. Helena kindly sends him away. Click on the bell on the side of the dock. Click the chain to ring the bell. Nothing happens. Take James’ Bell.

Go back down the pier towards the hotel. Outside the doors leading back inside the hotel, click on the bell stand. Use James’ Bell on the stand, then click the chain.

Enter the hotel and return to James. Click on him and Kate will convince him to go outside using your mask. After he leaves, your mom will call you. When you hang up, James will arrive with Helena.

Click on Helena and go through all the dialogue options. Looks like we need to make a cocktail!

Make the Blue Helena Cocktail
Exit the dialogue and click on your cell phone. Remember that number from the hotel brochure we wrote down? Click the numbers: 46433643 and click send.

The barman will tell you the recipe for the Blue Helena: one measure of Vodka, one measure of Blue Curacao, one measure of honey, dash of lime, and ice cubes.

Click on the shelf of the bar below Helena. Take the Crystallized Honey and the Lemon.

Exit the bar and go up towards the pool. Go right, around the pool, then go left until you come upon two men in the small pool. (Optional) click on the men to chat with them.

Click on the hot tub above the two men. Click the wheel behind the hot tub to turn it on. Use the Crystallized Honey on the hot tub to soften it. You’ll get the Liquid Honey.

Go back to the bar. Click the bar machinery. Click the paper note on the machinery.

Click the I/O button to start the machine. Use the Vodka on the empty bottle holder on the top right. Use the Liquid Honey on the bottle holder to the right of the Vodka you just placed. Use the Lemon on the holder on the top left.

Now we need to make the drink:

  • Click the piano key second to the left to add Vodka.
  • Click the small switch to change from bass to treble.
  • Click the piano key third from the left to add the Blue Curacao.
  • Click the honey button (middle button on the right).
  • Click the lemon button.
  • Click the ice button (middle button on the left)
  • Click the shake button (the rightmost button on the right side)

Helena will drink the concoction and tries to sing. She thinks she sounds horrible.

Use the Crystal Glass and place it on the end of the bar, near Helena. Click on Helena, and she’ll break the glass with her voice.
Komkolzgrad (Again)
Go all the way back to the airship and enter it. You’ll get a call from Olivia. Helena will join you on the airship and you’ll take off.

Escape Komkolzgrad
After the cutscene, you’ll need to rescue Helena. Go up to the cage Helena is trapped in and Kate will automatically talk to her.

Click the lock on the cage. Use the Metal Shears to free Helena. Click on the automaton playing the organ. Use the Screwdriver on the hands. You’ll get Oscar’s Hands back in your inventory.

Go back down the stairs and down again to where Helena is standing. Sergueï will trap you in the factory after Helena walks through the gate. You’ll give her Oscar’s Hands and send her back to the train.

Go up, into the lift, and then down through the mine shaft. You’ll hear an explosion. Go back to see what happened. Looks like Sergueï exploded the shaft behind you. Go forward again.

Click the lever to call the lift down. Sergueï put a bomb in the lift! Kate will automatically run away. Go back, past the TV, and click on the large metal pipe. Kate will climb through it.

Go right, to the train, then left once. Click on Oscar to talk with him. Go back to the right, then enter the train.

After the short cutscene, Dan will call you. After you hang up, click Helena to talk with her.

Exit the train. Go left along the train tracks and click Oscar to talk with him.

Right, then continue right until you reach the end of the platform and the boxes. Click on the boxes. Take the Dynamite. Go all the way back to the other end of the platform where the giant man is standing.

Use the Dynamite on the giant man’s leg. Kate will automatically run back to the train, and Oscar will drive the train onwards.
Aralbad (Again)
Exit the train and go back, then right, to the end of the platform. Click Oscar to talk with him.

Go through all of the dialogue options, or simply click “Mission” to get to the point.

Exit the dialogue. Click the wheel, then click the lever to wind the train for the last time. Click the wheel to retract the device.

The Hotel (Again)
Click Oscar and select the dialogue option “Mission.” Before you can leave, Felix will run out to catch you before you leave.

Go forward, then back into the hotel courtyard. Go left into the hotel. Go towards the desk, talk to Felix about Mission, then click on the package on the desk near the wall.

Take the Mammoth Automaton. Exit out of this screen, and you’ll get a call from your boss. Felix will get a call on the hotel phone and ask you to meet Helena at the hotel bar.

Return to the hotel bar by going through the metal gate, then left around the pool. Click on Helena to talk with her.

Go down then to the right, out the gate leading to the pier. Go out the door. Click on the man sitting on the bench. You finally meet Hans.

Finish the conversation and enjoy the last cutscene. You’ve completed Syberia!

While this is a great walk through, there seem to be plenty of places where it seems confusing or missing bits in the instruction, for instance in the factory, after having made the legs, the guide says "Go back down the small and large sets of stairs, then to the right side of the factory. Go right again, then take Oscar’s legs." the first right is correct, it brings you to where the production line is. But after that if you right again you head back towards where you first powered up the plant, so it should be, "head towards the bottom of the screen," then you find the legs. Other confusing instructions and missing steps take away from what is an in depth guide.

Helpful guide helping me to get through the game.
Game has good presentation and engaging plot, held back by some questionable design for the gameplay, puzzles, interface, QoL.

I have made the legs exactly as stated in the instructions here FIVE TIMES & Oscar keeps saying they are incorrect. What am I doing wrong?

Hey, thanks for the guide!
Small correction:
Komkolzgrad > Wind the Train > 3rd paragraph
"Kate seems a sneaky-looking person." should be "Kate sees a sneaky-looking person."

Thanks for the guide! This was a nostalgia trip for me - I'm intending to play the most recently released Syberia and figured to play all the preceding games (this one for the second time in a few decades now) - I'd forgotten how obtuse point and click games can be, lol!

Typo in the first sentence of the "Train Station" section: "and go Northwest at the fountain" should be "Northeast".

Thank you so much for this, used this for my entire playthrough.

I have an issue where I can't do "Click the forklift automaton and it’ll move a barrel to the other side of the factory.", as there's no barrel there??? Any ideas of how to fix that? (already validated my files)

Thanks a lot for this walkthrough! It definitely saved me from a lot of frustration because of missed exits an overlooked details.

@Squeaker5353: Did you pick up and read the book on the Yangala-Cola mushrooms from the library?
