(Partial) English Patch for The Legend of Sword and Fairy 5 Prequel

Here is the English patch I'm working on for this game.

Currently, the patch is incomplete, but a preview version is available here.[drive.google.com] This patch should work for both the Steam (both the Chinese and international versions) and non-Steam versions of the game. Feedback and bug reports are welcome.

How to install: Extract the archive to your game directory (\steamapps\common\Chinese Paladin 5 Prequel) and replace original files (backup recommended if you plan on playing the game in Chinese, but the files can be restored through verifying the integrity of your game files).

Progress

• Main story up to the end of the Loulan City story translated
  
• Some NPC names, item names, skill names, journal entries, and location names translated
  
• Text font changed to Inconsolata. Text sizes and positions adjusted
  
• Some UI elements labeled with English text and edited

Planned Features

• Complete translations for the main storyline, companion quests, side quests, and DLC content
  
• Translations for town dialogues, in-battle dialogues, menu text (names, descriptions, quest notes, etc), and other miscellaneous strings (secondary priority)
  
• Further tweaks to UI sizes

Features not Planned

• Redrawing and reanimating all UI elements
  
• Fine tuning line breaks and word wrap
  
• Remaking the game to make English text more presentable in small text boxes

• There may be redundant files included in the download. This will be addressed as I test and optimize

Hi Mew, I'm glad I found this post. I've actually also partially translation PAL 5 (not prequal) when the game was not available on steam yet. I'm not a Chinese speaker but I had help from family and friends. However, I haven't worked on it for the past 3 years. I would love to share the work and perhaps you or someone else can pick it up or at least translate more of the script.

It contains the modified data folder with partial translated script. The tool I wrote to edit the script xml, a modified font file and the partial translated script and my translated word documents. Hopefully they can be useful.

Its about 20% of the script that has been translated, so very partial but In terms of game play, its about 3-4 hours worth.

Hey there, this is going to be a long-term project with no definite date of completion. I tend to make some progress when I have large chunks of free time, but real life hasn't been giving me enough of those lately.
