Wraith Guide DBD version 3.3.2(outdated)
Vytvořil: Autista
Hello, I am Autista, also known as Arik by my friends. I've been playing this game for more than a year now and love playing both sides, especially killer. My favorite killer is surprise surprise, The Wraith. I've been playing in high ranks almost all my gametime and wanna share some things which I feel will enlighten others. A thing that gets on my nerves is that people try to play really scummy with this killer, they stand in front of hooks and do other things that are stupid and not the correct way to play any killer. The Wraith is a killer who should almost always be chasing and applying pressure, so I'd like to clarify that. This should act as a beginners guide to The Wraith, but maybe my knowledge will rub off on experienced players too. I will go over his best perks, add-ons and also the best way to play him. Hope you enjoy!

DISCLAIMER
THIS GUIDE IS VERY OUTDATED, after ruin nerf Wraith has to be played a bit differently, hope to update in the near future. I do not claim to be the best Wraith player, this guide is all just completely my opinion and you can feel free to disagree in the comments. Constructive criticism is welcomed.

Pros and Cons

Pros

1. You are invisible, finding survivors will never be an issue. Especially if they are injured.
2. Wraith is probably the best tracking killer, you can hit survivors and follow them while invisible and never lose them cause of your increased movement speed while cloaked. Making him a very beginner friendly killer.
3. You have the element of surprise on your side, and can find survivors with their pants down.
4. EXTREMELY FUN TO PLAY

Cons

1. You have nothing that allow you to end chases quickly.
2. No map pressure, you don't have great mobility when playing Wraith so you have to be tactical.
3. Even when you're cloaked survivors can see your shimmer and spot you from afar.
4. Relies heavily on perks and add-ons.
5. Weak to flashlights. He can be burned out of stealth if the beam is aimed at him for long enough.
Power
The Wailing Bell
The Wraith's power is known as the Wailing Bell, it allows you to cloak and become invisible, you cannot attack survivors while you're cloaked, but can interact with objects such as generators, pallets and lockers. The Wraith's power helps in finding survivors in awkward positions where they can potentially be defenseless. Once you find a survivor you uncloak and often get a free hit that you wouldn't be able to get with other killers. You have the element of surprise on your side and can take advantage of unsuspecting survivors.
The Wraith's Add-ons
Here I'm only gonna go over the ones that I feel are viable and gonna give my opinion on them.

1. Windstorm Blood

-Tremendously increases The Wraith's movement speed while cloaked.
-Slightly decreases The Wraith's movement speed while uncloaking
.

This is the strongest addon The Wraith has. This add-on is pretty straight forward, just like most of his addons, you use this to move fast and apply some sort of map pressure, but the best thing you can do with this is block survivors from getting to pallets and windows while you are cloaked, you can easily do this cause you move at an incredible speed. Once you block said pallet and window you will often get a free hit.

2. Shadow Dance Blood

-Tremendously reduces the time required to vault Windows, break Pallets or damage Generators while cloaked.

This is probably the Wraith's most underrated addon, it allows you break pallets and vault windows at incredible speeds while cloaked, you can utilize this addon even more with perks like Brutal Strength and Bamboozle. The main reason I like this perk is because survivors will often be forced to put a pallet down, once you know they'll do it you can cloak and break the pallet instantly and catch them with their pants down easily, granting you a free hit/down a lot of the time, they won't expect you to break the pallet that fast.

3. Swift Hunt Blood

-Tremendously reduces The Wraith's reappearance time.

This addon is not something I use often but it has its uses, it allows you to come out of stealth faster and apply more pressure

4. Coxcomed Clapper

-Renders the Wailing Bell completely silent.

This addon renders your bell while uncloaking completely silent, you can use this to sneak up on survivors and often grab them, this works great when combined with The Ghost addon which allows renders your red stain null and reduces your terror radius to 0. Also works with All Seeing Blood as you can see the survivors in 12 meter range, they can't see you and if you uncloak while blocking line of site they will have no idea where you're gonna come from. Very fun addon.

5. Blind Warrior White

-Surprise Attacks afflict Survivors with the Mangled and Haemorrhage Status Effects until fully healed.

This addon inflicts the survivor with the Mangled and Hemorrhage effect which makes it so that they take a very long time to heal and also bleed more frequently, making them easier to track. This addon also means you never need to use Sloppy Butcher and instead utilize some other perk instead.

6. All Seeing Blood

-Unlocks hidden potential in one's Aura-reading ability. While cloaked, the Auras of Survivors within 12 metres are revealed to you.

You can see survivors around you within a 12m range, this addon has great synergy with other addons and perks such as Coxcombed Clapper and Nurses Calling. You can sneak up on the unsuspecting survivor and get a free hit quite often if these addons/perks are.

7. All Seeing Spirit

-Unlocks awesome potential in one's Aura-reading ability. While cloaked, the repair progress of Generators can be determined by the intensity of their Auras.

This addon has great synergy when used with perks like Pop Goes The Weasel and the Windstorm addon. The harsher the color the more progression the gen has, you can use Windostorm to get to the gen fast and use PGTW after you hook someone and regress it by 25%.

8. The Ghost Soot

-After uncloaking, The Wraith's Terror Radius and Red Stain will remain suppressed for 6 seconds.

I have no idea why this addon is a common one, it should at the least be uncommon/rare. This addon nullifies your red stain and terror radius for 6 seconds and becomes very dangerous when combined with tracking perks and the addon Coxcombed Clapper, if you can manage to stay out of line of sight when cloaking you can cause massive damage with this addon.
Builds and how to play them.

Optimal Build 1

Perks Used

BBQ And Chilli
Hex:Ruin
Enduring
Spirit Fury

Addons used

Windstorm Blood
Shadow Dance Blood

This build allows you end chases as fast possible and continue to chase other survivors after you've hooked someone, BBQ helps in finding said survivors, Ruin helps you early game a lot, especially if survivors are not doing gens and are looking for the totem instead. Enduring and Spirit Fury make an amazing combo for Wraith as you don't have to respect pallets. The addons are Windstorm and Shadow Dance, Windstorm gives allows you apply more pressure by finding people faster and stopping annoying window loops with ease, Shadow Dance helps when good survivors who know how to handle Enduring and Spirit Fury drop the pallets early, when they do this you can cloak and break the pallet in insane speeds and catch the survivor in a terrible situation resulting in them getting hit/downed. BBQ Also helps in farming bloodpoints, cause Wraith is one of the easiest killers to get points with.

Optimal Build 2

Perks used

Save the best for last
Hex Ruin
Enduring
Spirit Fury

Addons used

Windstorm
Shadow Dance

This is the same build as the one above but forgoes BBQ for Save The Best For Last, which is a perk that helps you recover from successful hits faster, this allows you to be more efficient in chase, this build imo is a bit less optimal cause finding survivors can be a bit more troublesome without BBQ.

SLOW THE GAME DOWN A LOT

Perks Used

Dying Light
Hex Ruin
Thanataphobia
Pop Goes The Weasel

Addons Used

Windstorm Blood
All Seeing Spirit

This build utilizes Dying Light + Thanatophobia which slows the game down a lot, this also has great synergy with the All Seeing Spirit addon and PGTW as you can see generator progression with the All Seeing Spirit Addon and take a chunk of progress from a gen using PGTW, you also use Windstorm to utilize your PGTW and All Seeing Spirit to their best abilities.

ANTI HEAL

Perks Used

BBQ and Chilli
Hex Ruin
Nurses Calling
Pop Goes The Weasel

Addons Used

Swift Hunt Blood
Blind Warrior White

This build utilizes the addon Blind Warrior and PGTW to slow the game down and make you apply more pressure. You track the survivors using BBQ and Nurses Calling. Many survivors are forced to heal vs Wraith as he can easily get a free hit on you often, especially when combined with the Blind Warrior addon which inflicts them with the mangled effect and will take a long time to heal. Swft Hunt allows you reappear faster and catch them while they're trying to heal which you can see with Nurses Calling. PGTW and BBQ go hand in hand once again.

SPOOKY WRAITH

Perks Used

BBQ and Chilli
Hex Ruin
Enduring
Spirit Fury

Addons Used

Coxcombed Clapper
The Ghost Soot

This build utilizes the addons Coxcombed Clapper and The Ghost soot. They have great synergy together as the former renders your bell silent and the latter nullifies your red stain and terror radius, making you scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of survivors often getting free hits and grabs, this build also works well with Discordance over BBQ but who the F doesn't want free BP? Enduring and Spirit Fury are there to help you in chase, BBQ for tracking and ruin to well...slow the game down a little bit.

ANNOYING WRAITH

Perks Used

BBQ and Chilli
Hex Ruin
Enduring
Spirit Fury

Addons Used

Bone Clapper
The Ghost Soot

This is again my basic Wraith build but uses the addon Bone Clapper where survivors hear the Bell whenever you interact with it, meaning you can press m2 all game and they'll keep hearing it. Making it a bit annoying, perks are self explanatory like before, you can forgo The Ghost addon with the Blink White addon which makes you cloak faster, but you dont have jumpscare potential, but you'll ring the bell even faster LOL. This is mainly a fun build that shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Annoying Wraith v2

Perks Used

Hex: Huntress Lullaby
Hex: Ruin
Unnerving Presence
Distressing

Addons Used

Blind Warrior
The Beast Soot

The goal of this build is to be annoying as possible, what could be more annoying then both Ruin and Hex skill checks ? The beast addon gives you a 32 meter TR while cloaked, and using distressing will increase it by 26%. Blind Warrior addon to inflict mangled status cause who doesn't love that, right?

End Game Wraith

Perks Used

HEX: No One Escapes Death
Remember Me
Rancor
Blood Warden

Addons used

Windstorm Blood
Shadow Dance Blood

This is probably my least favorite build cause it relies on you failing to stop 5 gens from popping, yet this is a fun build that can capitalize on survivor errors, All these perks reward you for well...nothing and yet can be a fun build. Going with the basic addons cause of efficiency.

INSTA Wraith

Perks Used

Hex Haunted Grounds
Hex Devour Hope
Make Your Choice
Hex Ruin

Addons Used

Windstorm Blood
All Seeing Blood

This build relies on one shotting survivors using these various perks, All Seeing Addon to help you locate them if they're trying to hide and Windstorm for efficiency. The downside to this build is of course the fact that you're relying on hex totems. Could have used NOED instead of Ruin but that seems like too much of a crutch, so gonna refrain from that. Ruin also increases the chances of them breaking Haunted Grounds so it makes sense here.

Tips and Tricks and Conclusion

The Wraith is by no means a strong killer, since he doesn't have things that help in chase, what he does have going for him is his surprise factor and the fact that he's very basic and beginner friendly. Lots of fun to play too. When starting out as Wraith you must follow some things to help you become better at killer.

1. If you see someone with a flashlight, they might try to burn you while you uncloak, so what you have to do is uncloak out of their line of sight and then attack them.

2. Cloaking after hitting a survivor is something even the best players do, this allows you to be on them easier as you move faster, making the survivor easy to track. You must not always do this, suppose if they're running to an open area with nothing to defend themselves with.

3. Familiarize yourself with his addons, Wraith is a killer who is very dependent on his addons. Utilize them to the best of your ability.

4. DO NOT CAMP AND TUNNEL, this is self explanatory, camping loses you your gens and tunneling will often result you getting hit with Decisive Strike. These are a no no by all means.

5. Don't get disheartened when you lose, this is a game where there will be many frustrations. There are things you can't control and mistakes are often made, do not get disheartened when a survivor is being toxic at the exit gate, just move on to the next game with your head held high and enjoy the game for what it is.

This'll do it for my Wraith guide, I spent a lot of time and effort on this and I hope you guys appreciate it, feel free to disagree with me in the comments, all constructive criticism is respected.

if you use game sense for which generator to use PGTW on, it would be even better to swap all seeing wraith addon for the mangled addon on the slow the game down a lot build.

as a level 50 p3 wraith, i approve of this guide. though one thing that should be made known. Wraith isnt fully invisible (obviously..) Except for when standing still.

It should be clarified.

I find Play With Your Food to be a great perk for wraith. When you find your obsession and enter chase, you can instantly cloak. This will immediately end the chase and give you a stack. Repeat this and you can get all 3 stacks very quickly to get some great movespeed, potentially eliminating the need for Windstorm entirely. That being said, it is fun to stack 2 Windstorm addons with PWYF to break the sound barrier with your movement.

love this game
Regrettable Acts in 1 Step 10. lis. 2019 v 1.55
I find that the faster reapparance time add-ons with the perk Unrelenting to be a decent addition for wraith, seeing as he can go for some stupid lunges instantly after decloaking and would still recover enough to actually gain distance instead of losing it.
