This guide is for those, who are curious (or not sure) what the best order of playing Bioshock games is. Storywise order that is.
Games and DLC in order:
Recommended is to play in the following order:

1. Bioshock 1
2. Bioshock 2
3. Bioshock 2 - Minerva's Den (DLC)
4. Bioshock Infinite
5. Bioshock Infinite - Burial at Sea Pt.1 (DLC)
6. Bioshock Infinite - Burial at Sea Pt. 2 (DLC)

I would actually recommend playing Bioshock Infinite then Burial at Sea 1 and 2 second. BAS is good but it has kind of a downer ending. Bioshock 2 is the true conclusion of the Rapture storyline.

My order is:
Bioshock 1
Bioshock Infinite
Burial at Sea 1 and 2
Bioshock 2
Minerva’s Den

Bioshock 2 and DLC if you want to.

Not playing Bioshock 2 and especially Minerva's Den would be a disservice.

You could but other orders are lacking. I only included that which answers to the story of bioshock in the best way. If you just wanna shoot stuff and so-so understand what the hell is going on, then play it however you see fit.

Therefore, when it comes to story, it's the only recommended order, connecting all 3 games and DLC into one. Feel free to experiment yourself if you feel like the order they came out in is something you don't wanna do. There is nothing else to recommend to you.
