-In the conflict over party supremacy, the loyal Goufeng appeased the Gang of Four by giving them the positions they desired, of Hongwen as the Chairman and Yaobang as the Foreign minister, but this was reversed on the same day.
-After that Goufeng abandoned struggle and gave all he could to the gang, leading to Wang Hongwen becoming the paramount leader in influence and party support.

That said, though, several of the individual tips in this guide are quite good! I never would have thought of appointing the reformist as MFA early on so that you could grab the friendship agreement with France before your diplo rep got raised! :)
