Refining Your Controls

Tweaking your controller inputs is essential for getting the most out of the MX Bikes simulation

Direct Lean

This defines how quickly the bike will return upright when the control stick is centred.
A setting of 0 means the bike will retain it's current angle, and 100 will return the bike upright quickly when the stick is centred.

Linearity

Linearity adjusts the response curve of the input. A lower value will give you more control in the central portion of the input. So for leaning, a low value would feel less responsive in the middle portion of the stick movement, but more accurate.
A higher value tends to be better if you are playing with lean help off, since you will have more control at higher lean angles.

For the throttle input, you might want to set the linearity lower to have more control in the first half of the range, and less control wide-open.

Combined Brakes

It can be useful on gamepads to have one control for both front & back brakes.
In this example, the rear brake will start to be applied automatically at 50% of the front brake input (min), and will increase very quickly (max)

Smoothing

You can smooth out both analog and digital inputs.
Useful for analog inputs such as rider F/B lean (to slow the rider movement) and digital inputs like the clutch when assigned to a button (to release the clutch slowly instead of instantly).

Does anyone know how to set up your setting with a controller if its not working. I was on the start gate and all of a sudden the control's switched to the keyboard. I have tried everything to reassign them but when i click on them they dont give me a choice, it just selects the mouse button.
CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE. I HAVE TRIED LITTERLY EVERYTHING

Can you help me please. My problem is that my controller is well connected to steam, but when I want to change my controller buttons on mx bikes, it does not work, although my controller works fine (there are just 2 buttons that work on mx bikes)
