Super Spooky Ghostface *Updated*
By hi im pep
In this guide I will explain an effective way of playing Ghostface that also works in higher ranks and doesn't rely too much on you effectively stalking while using Night Shroud. Tru3ta1ent is the streamer that introduced me to this build and way of playing, so all credit goes to him. In essence, this guide is about you playing super stealthy and getting the jump on injured people while you slow objectives immensely.

Originally this guide explained how you could play Ghostface effectively without relying on your stalk. The whole playstyle was inspired by Tru3ta1ent, but since Hex: Ruin has been reworked and gens fly by a lot quicker, I decide to revise the build. The gameplay still revolves around playing an M1-killer that sneaks up on (healing/injured) people to jumpscare them!

Introduction
With Hex: Ruin not being as powerful as it used to be (on Ghostface in particular), a different build is required than the one I previously used here. Instead of running Hex: Ruin and Thanataphobia, two new perks will be introduced alongside the familiar Sloppy Butcher and Nurse's Calling. The stealth-based playstyle remains, but a little more game sense is required for this strategy to work, since Hex: Ruin and Thanataphobia will not be passively working for you anymore! Another point that is unchanged is that I still believe you needn't rely on your Nightshroud/stalk: You are often broken out of your power or you lose too much distance, while the whole point is to end your chases as quick as you can! Enjoy this revised guide.
Perks, add-ons, offerings and maps
Brief overview of perks, add-ons, offerings and maps.

Perks:

Sloppy Butcher (slower healing, general perk)
Nurse's Calling (easier to find injured people, Nurse's teachable at lvl 40)
Barbecue & Chilli (to know where to go next and double BP, Cannibal's teachable at lvl 35)
Pop Goes the Weasel (to regress gens, Clown's teachable at lvl 40)

Add-ons:

Olsen's Address Book (uncommon, moderately increased power recovery rate)
Chewed Pen (rare, considerably increased power recovery rate)

Offering:

Honestly up to you, something that helps your stealth or getting points in categories related to your stealthy plays are the best. No particular need for Mori's because we don't want to make the survivors angry: they gotta be injured and scared.

Maps:

The strategy I'm about to explain works best on maps that aren't super open and wide. It works best on smaller maps and/or maps that have many walls (breaking line of sight) so sneaking is easier and they can't break you out of NS from afar. The best maps are probably The Game and Lerys, so you might want to look for those offerings.
Strategy
Screw the stalk: You are now a Mouse-1 killer! You become a ghost with no terror radius/red glow when you are in Night Shroud (NS), so you want to use that as much as you can to be a stealthy boy. Your add-ons are to ensure you get back into NS quickly in the event of you getting broken out or when you break yourself out by attacking.

When you find people, injure them and, if the chase is not ideal, move to other people and injure them as well if possible. With more people injured, which takes longer to fix due to Sloppy Butcher (SB), you slow down the game and apply pressure. Since healing will take longer, it becomes easier to find people with your Nurse's Calling (NC)!

After you have people injured, look for healing survivors (solo with Self-Care or Medkits or in groups) with NC. Hopping into NS makes it easy to sneak up when you find people and you give them a real jump scare (you will also sometimes be able to grab them off gens when they're not on their guard. Happens to me every game). When you find people, try to get a down if they're injured, but if it's another hard chase, maybe move on and look for other survivors: as long as they can't do objectives as fast, you can use that time to hunt them down and terrorise them: they often won't hear/see you coming if you sneak up on them by hiding behind objects.

Of course you can use NS to stalk if the stalk is easy, but I prefer using the stalk to look for survivors roaming around, since they're then highlighted in white. This helps you when no or fewer survivors are injured, since that would render NC a bit useless for the time being. The build is strongest when you keep the stealth up and have as many survivors injured at all times as possible. The rest of your playstyle is what typically applies to other M1 killers.

Given that there is no Hex: Ruin or other slowdown perk in the build, I use Pop Goes the Weasel, but that is because I prefer it to other slowdown perks. Feel free to use perks like Thrilling Tremors, Surge or Corrupt Intervention. The reason I prefer PGTW is because it gives you agency in which gen you want to regress. Barbecue is here for obvious reasons and as a back-up for if NC is not helping you: it tells you where to go next and/or where people are healing.
Video by Tru3ta1ent on how to play Ghostface like this

The build is a little outdated, but the thought process behind the general strategy still sort of applies! Credits to Tru3 for inspiring me.
Notes and comments
Keep in mind that this strategy does not promote or rely on (proxy) camping, tunneling, or other strategies that, although effective, result in fewer points and angry survivors. If you know how to play M1 killers and keep stick to the strategy I proposed above, you should have very consistent games with Ghostyboy. I've been using this build a lot lately and I've gotten 4Ks almost every time (currently purple ranks but versus red rank survivors).

Again, redits to Tru3ta1ent for the idea and the video at the end.

That being said, I hope you guys try out this build and let me know how it works out for you.

That's it for my first guide. Let me know what you think and/or what I should improve!

Please rate the build if you think it's good so others can see it too!

@Bismarck if sur dont want to heal then you just get em off guard with just 1 hit.. easy hooks then... and worst case if there is only 1 gen left and 3 sur, just slug LOL, it works 90% of the time

lol the point of it is that you choose whether to heal and become very easy to be downed by the no terror radius killer who can see your aura or you dont and thana + ruin slows down your gen speed and you become a one shot for the no terror radius killer :steamhappy:

Yeah, I knew this guide would get shit on.

Regardless, it's a different way to play GF, and I do like it, it works. Good guide

I have no problem with how TrU3Ta1ent plays Ghostface, however, this build is atrocious. It's a gimmicky anti-healing build. So if you run SB, Thanatophobia, and Nurse's, do you ACTUALLY think I'll heal? You'd be insane to think that. \Once this thing's Ruin is gone, every generator will fly if you go against good survivors. Most idiotic survivors will tend to heal instead of doing generators.

For example:
I am the Grand Master of the M1 Templars. We literally just hold M1 with no altruism until every generator is done. What will you do to us? You'll lose because anti-healing gimmicky builds do not work.

Gimmicky shit builds don't work against good survivors. Where's Pop Goes The Weasel to prevent the gen rush? Where's Thrilling Tremors (the best killer perk) or BBQ & Chili to help you understand where to go next? This build is just intended to slow down survivors' heal speeds. I never heal. Therefore, I'm practically vulnerable to this gimmick.

Holy shit this is a very obnoxious gameplay, both playing as gf and against him.You claim this is a more consistend way but letting survivors go just for a thanatophobia proc is just not worth it.Sloppy butcher does work with nurse's,but it takes away a perk slot,so that you increase the chance of finding someone healing further on,which means little to nothing, since you gf is known for his abillity to traverse the map efficiently.Nurse's does work wonders on gf without a doubt and its one of my favourite perks for him.As for ruin...Idk a perk all about rng just doesnt stick well with me,even more when its more of a bandage perk rather than smth you can actually work with the whole match. Also saying how its better to ditch the stalk (apart from the easy ones as you say) only shows how little you have played the killer, since if you did you would know that you can use stalk to shorten future chases, even instantly ending them.Stalking management is the way to go

You're hitting people once to get sloppy/thana off, their subsequent slower healing is both slower objectives and you can find them more easily. Stalking takes a lot of time and doesn't slow objectives, plus once you get broken out it's useless anyways. Now you use your power as a passive to sneak up on people, mindgame through lack of red glow, their walking is impaired from trying to look back and expose you, and they reveal themselves as they look at you from afar. I wonder if you really took the time to read the bit, but I can assure you this is 100x more consistent and effective than using stalk and playing GF as the devs intended him.

You're downing people in two hits when you could expose them and down them in one. Really not that complicated.
hi im pep  [author] Oct 20, 2019 @ 2:00am
@green peen, how's this less effective?
disco Oct 19, 2019 @ 1:25pm
Battlepass is correct. This is literally just a less effective way to play. Good for me though, since I can tell when a Ghostface is a moron or not.

You need to learn how to read, I said that if you run ruin, sloppy, or pop goes the braincell with each other, that you are not a good killer who relies heavily on perks that make the game far too easy. In simpler terms, a boosted ape. Nowhere did I say that running those perks means I'm going to DC; all I said is if I'm not having fun or if DbD pulls some BS (like a super delayed input, jumpy ping, or bad hitboxes) I'm more likely to DC.
