Interplanetary Released to Steam Early Access!
Interplanetary Releasing to Early Access on April 18th!
New Features

For the Early Access release, we've prepared an exciting new feature: Superweapons. These are unlockable through the Tech Tree and will wreak serious havoc with your enemy's planet.

Currently, we've implemented two superweapons:

Asteroid Diversion
Diverts a group of asteroids towards the enemy planet, causing massive damage. Works similarly to the railgun, except that the starting point is the asteroid field at the edge of the planetary system and you'll be shooting a cluster of space boulders instead of one small shot.

Solar Laser
An accurate and powerful weapon, the Solar Laser is fired from it's own orbit close to the sun. Unlike with normal lasers, it can shoot to any direction. Unlike with normal lasers, it can shoot to any direction, unless there are other celestial objects blocking its line of sight.

These weapons are pretty devastating, so make sure you get them before your opponent does!

In addition to superweapons, we've been doing a lot of smaller updates all across the board. Some of the major ones include the ability to have hotseat matches with up to 4 players and many graphical and UI-fixes. There are also plenty of balance adjustments, so make sure to weigh in with your opinions.

Time to get hyped!

Release date: 2014
Interplanetary is a hard scifi turn-based strategy artillery game, where players wage wars by developing their home planets and firing their interplanetary barrages through the planetary system. Our goal is to have all the classic features a devoted strategy fan wants, but also introduce something fresh to the mix.

"The main problem with planetary civilizations is that developing one may take more resources than a single planet can offer. Sometimes, even a planetary system is not enough. Especially if you have competition.

In distant cosmos, two sister planets have reached a tense situation. The greed inherent to both civilizations has driven them to drastic measures: the building of massive cannons aimed directly at each other. Let the game of interplanetary artilleries begin!"

  • Challenge your friends in hotseat or online matches, or battle against a computer controlled planet.
  • Build and manage your planet's infrastructure.
  • Gather resources and decide the most efficient use for them.
  • Encourage your citizens to research and develop increasingly futuristic technologies.
  • Spy on your enemies to reveal their planets' weak points.
  • Use your artillery constructions to aim through the planetary system, avoiding other celestial bodies and their gravity.
  • Fire your railguns, missiles and beam weapons to claim the planetary system for your civilization!

Please notice that the game is currently under heavy development, and many features are not yet implemented in the alpha version.

Q. How do you win in this game? Do you need to demolish all the enemy structures?
No, it's enough to simply DECIMATE HIS CIVILIZATION! Once the population of a city goes low enough, the city is ruined. Once all the cities are in ruins, you win. But watch out, ruined cities can be rebuilt with enough time and effort.

Q. Is there a single player campaign or a story mode?
Interplanetary consists of separate skirmishes you can play against other players or the AI. There is no interconnected story progression between the matches.

Q. How far are you in development?
We're currently in Alpha.

Q. Huge planetary cannons shooting across the solar system? That's not very realistic!
It's more so than you might think: You need to go to a war against a neighboring planet, but the technology isn't quite there for starfleets or teleportation - what now? Simply accelerate metal slugs using massive amounts of electricity and let the physics do the work!

Q. How many different planetary weapons are there in the game?
There are three weapon types: railguns, missiles and beams. Railguns are your basic weapons; cheap, efficient, but not very accurate. Missiles, on the other hand, can be targeted much more precisely on the enemy planet's surface, but they are real resource hogs. Lasers are easy to aim, the gravitation having minimal effect on them, but they don't do very much damage. There will also be variations of each weapon type.

Q. Are there different levels or scenarios?
The planetary system is procedurally generated at the beginning of each match, and there are quite a few slightly different arrangements of planets. There will also be many different maps for player planets.

What if the ships were added? To make it more of a Eridani flash game concept? Where you own planets and build military structures on them, such as interplanetary missile silos, mines or radars, while also being able to build your fleet and send them towards the enemy planet? That is a concept I would really enjoy

what if you could go and shoot out a mine field to block some of the shots from the other person in to space lasts only for that turn
