How to setup and run mod

Reveal Mod

Get the orginal CD. Install game.

Then go here:

Get the SP 1.2 patch and run the exe. Get the MP 2.0 patch and run that exe.

Run the game in SP. Quit to desktop at title screen, so it can make some files. Run the game in MP (no, there is no MP, just DO IT.) Quit to desktop at the title screen, again.

Then go to ModDB and get the Hellgate Revival Launcher. Then download the mod itself, Hellgate Revival 1.5b which is only 8 MB in size. DON'T UNZIP IT. Use the Launcher you just downloaded to install the mod (Utilities>Modifications>Install). Play the game with the Launcher by clicking "Unleash Hell".

Then you have a game that is better than the original, works crazy FPS, has a load of new content, too. Faster run? Sure, Pick from several speeds. More accurate sniper rifles? Same. Faster sniper rifles? Yep, if you want. Auto pickup of items and quest items? Sure, if you want. Enable the Faukes quest all year long? Yeah. Disable faction requirements for equipment? Do that, if you want. Lots of options to pick from in the installer.

When I click Utilities>Modification>Install, I get a Microsoft .NET Framework Unhandled exception error with the following:

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Common, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'Common, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null

My Microsoft .NET Framework is updated and using the newest version, do I need an older version?

the invalid sku error was fixed when i installed it in drive c: after that i could paste the folder in other drives without a problem

As you know, the steam game names the executable Hellgate.exe instead of Launcher.exe so I was wondering (since getting the CD is not really on now) if this would work if you changed the name to Launcher.exe to get the patches to run then simply changed the name back after?

Almost all download links are dead, torrent barely loads the 2.0 patch, how do i get the 1,2 patch now?

Does any one know the best place to get an orginal CD or the key?

It's worth noting that there's a utility which fixes the 1 FPS bug and a mod which increases inventory size also available for the 2018 version on the Hellgate Revival forum.

It's nothing near the complexity of the other Revival mods, but that might change down the road.
